"Grab the Opposite Side" Muko Dori, Weapon Disarm, Takagi Yoshin Ryu
Bladed weapon disarm technique “Muko Dori” (Grab the Opposite Side) from Takagi Yoshin Ryu (Willow Heart School). Performed by Dai Shihan Mark Roemke and Kyle Connally.
Takagi Yoshin Ryu is one of the oldest and most respected traditional Japanese martial arts schools, known as "koryu bujutsu." It was founded in the mid-16th century by Takagi Oriuemon Shigenobu in the province of Kishu (present-day Wakayama Prefecture, Japan). The school is renowned for its comprehensive curriculum, which includes armed and unarmed techniques, such as striking, grappling, throwing, joint locks, and weapon use.
The name "Takagi Yoshin Ryu" translates to "Willow Heart School," symbolizing the flexibility and resilience inherent in its techniques. The school emphasizes adaptability, efficiency, and practicality in combat, aiming to develop well-rounded martial artists capable of defending themselves in various situations.

I am grateful for still being alive, and surving a hard life, and still being able to train in martial arts, having done this for almost 45 years; although my body doesn't work like it used to, lol.

Thankful for Jesus’ sacrifice for us to live the way we do and have what we have. I’m very thankful that I’m alive and have gone through 13 very dangerous surgeries and am still moving forward in life. I’m thankful for all my martial arts experience and my ability to learn and grow. I am thankful for the ninjutsu arts.

I am also grateful for Martial Arts and Bujinkan specifically. It has given me so much in my life. I want to give back. That's why I keep teaching. Have an awesome weekend everyone.

I gad you are giving back also and allowing me to learn online solo. It not easy but It not impossible and I think it puts us back learning the ancient way in modern times. We know more now and in many ways more highly skilled then the original ninja. They had to train when they could most likely using a tree or stick. training time was more limited as you had to go out and eat however on the other hand they had to train using skills to hunt that food. today we order a pizza. We have to learn to be a kid again and explore using our creativity and imagination which your course does. Sounds very ninja like to me

ninja training tv have you heard of to shin do is a martial art founded by Black Belt Hall of Fame instructor Stephen K. Hayes in 1997] It is a modernized version of ninjutsu, and differs from the traditional form taught by Masaaki Hatsumi’s Bujinkan organization. Instruction focuses on threats found in contemporary western society. In addition to hand-to-hand combat skills, students are exposed to: methods for survival in hostile environments, security protection for dignitaries, how to instruct classes and run a school, classical Japanese weapons, meditation mind science, and health restoration yoga
