The Most Beautiful and Scenic Train Journey in Europe Among the Austrian Alps ! (Ultra HD)
Last month, I undertook one of the most scenic train journeys in Europe. The lush green valleys, imposing Alpine peaks, crystal clear rivers and lakes, pretty small towns and the countryside of Austria together create a landscape that is unparalleled in its natural beauty.
Travelling from Villach in the Austrian Carinthia region to Munich in Germany, the train goes through two of the most beautiful valleys situated in the Austrian Alps. After departing Villach Hbf at 11:16 am, the railway route goes parallel to the river Drau and enters the Gastein valley, passing through three beautiful resort towns of Bad Gastein, Hofgastein and Dorfgastein. Along the route, the beautiful lush green valleys and gorgeous mountain peaks become even more scenic as the train enters the Salzach valley, named after the river Salzach which flows through the Mozart town of Salzburg. The train crosses through the famous St. Johann (Pongau), Bischofshofen and Golling, where you can see the massive castle ! After crossing Golling and Werfen (famous for its ice-cave), we enter the town of Salzburg.
