Video was made to show the car to a prospective out of state buyer. It was never listed for sale. I sold it in July 2022 for $7,000 USD unsolicited, which included the rare ZC hood. The original matching driver's seat was put back, the exhaust was replaced with an oem exhaust, and the tail lights were replaced back to 88-89 usdm tails. This car was unusual in that there were no rattles, squeaks, or any noises that a 30+ year old car would have, and having owned 7 of these in the last 4 years, It literally drove and felt like a new, low mileage car, when actually the chassis had over 300K miles on it. I did spend a lot of time sourcing all the missing parts, replacing broken parts, cleaning the car, and doing maintenance. When I got the car, it was missing window cranks, there was a hole in the gas tank which was caused by a car stereo installer putting a drywall screw through the body of the car to secure a grounding strap, no maintenance had been done in the 3 prior years of ownership, it was not registered and late on tags, the brakes were out and the system was not bled, the suspension was for the wrong car and therefore too tall and bounced all over the place, and the seats were not meant for the car. When I sold it, the car was almost OEM with the exception of the ZC hood, coilovers and Honda Fit wheels. It passed CA smog legally and the new owner was very happy with it.

Prius 2016 4th Generation: How to remove door panel
zhlédnutí 23KPřed 7 lety
I haven't worked on a car in years. I did install for about 1-2 years back in college, so I'm not afraid of breaking a few things. This is my new 2016 Prius 4th generation. It's a 3 touring, and the sound system is awful. I ordered some speakers online, couldn't find a tutorial or even a quick photo blog on how to remove this door panel, so for my first video ever, I will attempt a panel remova...
I bought another prius today, il Be adding the sound mat to this one too! Thanks AGAIN!!!! Go Raiders!!
Nice collection my friend.
Thank you!
Thanks for the detailed video. We had to replace a passenger side mirror (housing and cover) on a ‘22 Prius, and your step by step instructions were perfect. Entire process took just 20min. Also, ordered a plastic tool kit off Amazon for $7, which is what’s needed to do the job properly.
*Don't be fooled by the aesthetic of the Junk2 Camber Kit. Junk2 Camber Kit polyurethane bushings are crap & will literally dissappear over time. You were warned....*
I miss my ef hb I need to find me a clean one 😩
Thanks, man.
With all that insulation, you'd think the damn car would be quiet! So noisy inside
I agree. At freeway speeds it wasn't easy to have a quiet conversation with passengers.
You helped me the first time now I'm here again I rememberer most of it
I guess I should have made more videos. back in the day. I don't have the car anymore.
@@ef_danielsan we as consumer's just consume consume consume but not you you looked on CZcams you couldn't find what you was looking for so you figured why not make a video i appreciate it I'll try and make an effort when I come across something I can't find
How is the ebay part holding up? I need to fix a junk daily 99 Civic LX. The inside of my tire is being chewed up.
I was never able to install because the bolt holes were too narrow, so I returned. If you noticed on all the models being sold on ebay after I made this video, all the 2020 models have one hole that is ovaled out to account for this install defect, which basically copies Skunk2 and other bigger names like truhart, etc. I did buy a 2020 model off ebay, and while it did adjust camber, the newer poly bushings were too soft, and the alignment did not hold. I replaced it with a Truhart, which I heard uses Hardrace bushings. Another interesting thing is I bought an EG last year, and it used a rear camber kit that looks exactly like the gold one in the above video, but had the oval hole on one side. This particular rear camber kit also had a rubber bushing versus the 2020 poly version I had bought, and I immediately noticed it was wobbly. I took it out, and I could wobble the T part of it with my hands. This one was worse than the 2020 poly bushing version and was immediately replaced.
@@ef_danielsan Thanks, I am just going to do the washer trick in that case.
Thank you
Thank you.
Thank you
But Iam broke
Quick to the point video, great job more people should see this!
Thank you! I ended up returning the DNA motoring eBay kit because the bolt holes didn't like up to the holes in the body. I know they addressed this because all the newer rear camber kits on eBay now have ovaled holes, and they're using poly bushings similar to Skunk2. The new one (which I just installed last week) is still very light and much flimsier than the skunk2, but it's remarkably improved to the point where I gave it a second chance , and it's still at a similar price point at $30. Would recommend.
@@roadddog53 So the ebay ones are working fine a a junk daily? The inside of my tire is being chewed up.
Thank you bruh
Can you make a video of how to remove the Prius 4th generation steering wheel?
Thanks! Was a big help!
Imma break the prius
Great tutorial!
Thank you
Are there any differences in removing the BACK door panel? Do you have a similar video for doing the back door?
Go raiders! Thanks for posting this! Im trying to dynamat my doors. Quiet her down a lil
Thank you for making a video for the 4th gen this really helped me out
can u show a video how to take apart center console so i can get to usb cables
Thanks for the video....did you change the speakers? any video on that...thinking of changing mine...thanks in advance
Francis Lago that's why I took the door off. Speakers are easy, but I would buy some universal brackets for them from Amazon or Crutchfield. It's just 3 screws and 2 plugs once the doors are off. No need for any tutorial.
Daniel Yang ok cool thanks a lot
Yours have the JBL Audio system right? I have it and the doors rattle too much with neutral base settings. What you didn't like about it?
i have the JBL and my passenger side rattles even when the bass setting is 0~2 at maybe around 55% volume level... will you be taking your car to the dealer and ask them to fix it? I don't know if I should try or not.. it's just that I don't have much time. doing this on my own seems too hard for me...
You can try to apply sound deadening material to the door panel and around the metal as well. That will help for sure. Dynamat. You can also buy some bass blockers that are essentially passive equalization that will cut out the lower frequencies , as long as you have some sort of a sub woofer to compensate.
Did the speakers you ordered fit? and if so, how big were they? or what speakers did you use? thanks
I just plugged in the year make and model into the Crutchfield site and it came up with parts that would fit my car. I compared prices to Amazon and it was pretty close, so I just ordered from Crutchfield because they also include adapter rings, wire harnesses, etc. Stuff that I would have to all shop for separately and risk not having them fit when they came. I think it was literally $10 less per set if I parted everything out on Amazon. And after 30 years of receiving Crutchfield catalogs, I figured it was time to order something from them for once. LOL
oh yeah, they're all Coaxial 6.5" speakers. Pretty sure I ordered RockFord Fosgate Prime 3 way in the front, 2 way in the back doors. In the dash, I bought Crutchfield's home brand, Sound Ordnance 3.5". I read somewhere on the Prius forums that Sound Ordnance is similar to Rockford Fosgate Prime speakers (which is RF's budget friendly speaker). Honestly, if you're paying under $100/pair, it's all pretty much the same thing, so it wasn't something I got hung up about.
thanks for the video Daniel. I used to pay a kid to install a usb outlet toward the bottom front left of all my new cars. this keeps my charging wire short and clean to the phone in a holder at the bottom left of my windshield. I plan to do the installation myself this time with the new prius17. Have you got any suggestions on a 12v electrical source near that area? Alex
Thanks for doing a Prius 4th gen video. We need more people doing videos on the 4th gen
I just bought the Prime last month and wondering if the door panels can be removed using your method?
Desmond Thang most all toyotas have the same screws on their doors so it should be the same. Ive sat in a Prime at the dealership and it looked pretty much the same on the interior. good luck! it's easy once you do one door. the panel poppers make it a lot easier but probably not necessary.
do you think I can take my Prius to the dealer and tell them the door rattles too much and ask them to fix it? just got a prius a month ago...
Jeremy C. Of course. The technicians usually just take it apart and apply insulating foam onto the panel. It's like a roll of tape they use.
i took mine out but i have very hard time putting it back. Look like it wont want to go down the rubber gap.
you can pull the window seal off the door and put it back onto the door. in this video, this passenger door had the window seal come off when I pulled the door off. you can slide it off the panel, put it back on the steel frame first. then snap the panel back on.
at 6:07 in the video I lift the panel off and I'm gripping the window seal in my fingers. that slides off like a windshield wiper. sideways. when you slide the whole thing off, snap it back onto the steel door frame first. then the door panel goes on easy. you'll see tabs that snap into the rubber window seal.
Took me 5 hours and i finally got it in!!. I think the weather seal is part of the panel. I have to use pretty good amount force to push it down.
Thanks for the reply man. i saw your diy video at priuschat.
+Jason Leung I'm so sorry it took that long. lol. how'd the other door go?
