I have an Estwing Sure Strike 25oz Hickory handle framer. I can drive a 16d galvanized ringshank in one tap to set and two swings (double that for SYP wood, hard shit), and I was never able to do that with any other hammer. Estwing is best, all the way. And fuck titanium hammers; they're overpriced and underpowered. Anything under 19oz is a joke.
I got a 10oz curved claw to punch small 1" nails in the wall for pictures... it's great for that buuuut if you got 16d or 20d nails or more (100mm nails we got meters centimeters and milimiters here) you need a big hammer the arguments about its to heavie to swing it the whole day is not the thing because If you got a 21oz you will swing it a lot more times so it is the same work for your arm ... (600g is the standard weight for framing hammers in Germany it is 32cm long a estwing rip got 20oz too and is 33,5cm long but it is a RIP HAMMER ) you will be faster with a heavy hammer because you swing them 2 times were you swing a german one 10 times and you don't got the damn pick ... so estwing for life
