This happened in peoria illinois a subdivision built around an existing stock car track. The Judge told the homeowners they could move. The track was there first when you moved in

I own a restomod 69 chevelle, 22 1400 hayabusa, and an 18 f250 powerstroke. Fucking love racing, but dont be doing that shit around someones neighborhood. If their neighborhood just happens to be near a drag strip, then thats different. They chose to live there. Thats not what this is, however.

So the neighbor with there 5 year old house want the 60 year old drag strip to close down and make those guys go to some straight road in a neighborhood somewhere, just so when something bad happens, there is no safety crew anywhere around and the Mayor of that location can get on the TV News and say to the public "These people are wreckless and should be doing this at a race track and not here on the street". No one, and not a single News Reporter, ever reports to the fact the Mayor and the City Zoning commission, rezoned the race track area as residential, promising the Race Track owner it will not effect the use of his land in any way, even going so far as to say the people who purchase the homes doing it knowingly, and will not complain about any noise the race track can and does produce. After they start complaining, the city forces them to muffle the engines and put up noise meters. Now the only vehicles that can use the track are vehicle that are used on the streets as well and the race track can no longer hold Professional Race Events (Nitro Burners) and then the ticket sales can no longer support the cost of maintaining the track. So it closes. Now the city has street takeovers and people getting hurt, property getting damaged and what do the officials do? They tell the people watching the news and the residents on that street, "Those people should do this at a place designed for it. They should go to a race track".

Ohhh well. Where else can men and women enjoy themselves. If it’s drag racing or something else. A lot better than having them do it on the streets crashing, and taking someone’s life. People need to pick and choose their battles. It’s not all night. It’s only a certain time. If you buy a house near racetrack, be prepared to deal with noise!!!

Good Ol'Wareshoals , I remember when it was called Starlight Drag way ! This use to be a Quarter Mile Track before the shortened it to an 1/8 th , Back then the Majority of cars were All Old School Muscle 💪 Cars with 4 Speed Sticks ! The Automatics were more consistent but the Gear Snatching Camaros , Chevelles , Dusters , Superbees Mustangs were more fun 2 Watch ! Great place to knock back a few 🥶 Cold Ones while the fence held ya up 🤔 ! 😂😂🔥🔥👍
