Guys I had this surgery last week for multiple ovarian cysts. No complications. I did have a sedative before bec I was more scared of general anesthesia than the robotic machine. I fell asleep next thing i know it was over waking up in recovery. 4 small incisions. Sore but I'm just taking it easy. And yes the gas after is by far the worst. 3 days post op and gas gone.

I had the Transsphenoidal surgery for a pituitary tumor in 1979 at Mass General in Boston, Massachusetts, by Dr. Nicholas Zervas, Head Neurosurgeon at that time. The tumor was the size of a large orange. Had been quite ill for many years with migraine headaches and never started a period until I was 29 years old, 10 years later. I went on to have two successful pregnancies after that and didn't go into menopause until I was 53 years old. Directly after the surgery, I developed Diabetes Insipidus and used the DDAVP nasal spray to keep from becoming dehydrated. I was also given Bromocriptine for some time after surgery to disperse of any residual tumor left in that area. I would be happy to speak with anyone here if they have any questions.
