Dear Mr. Mike Capes, Your youtube channel was formative for me as a student in high school and I’m sorry that it fell out of the loop. I think you should have a comeback campaign and go on podcasts and stuff. Your channel reminds me of Captain Disillusion, who always produced above average, niche content. He never received the views or subs one would think fair until after he was exposed to the youtube scene in the H3H3 podcast. you should embrace being a youtuber full time and set up a patreon, ect. especially if you are in hollywood, there is a huge YT culture scene there.

@@TheHacksOfLife It's because youtube has switched to short videos, due to the rising trend of Tiktok since 2020. The new generation just doesn't have the attention span to watch such long videos. But back when your channel was at its peak in popularity, the youtube algorithm actually rewarded long videos with more exposure in people's feeds, because that's what people liked. The switch to shorts led to a massive drop in quality and an increase in quantity. I used to watch your channel 9 years ago, me and my brother loved your videos. At the time, I didn't get why you didn't make more, now I get that it's because the production value is so high and youtube doesn't reward that kind of creativity, it only rewards upload frequency, not a few high quality videos. Also, taking a long 5 year break can make the algo work against you instead of for you, so your subscribers aren't shown your content unless they have notifications on. Subscriptions really aren't what they used to be unfortunately.

I love the dude high five thing lol, it's so true. One time I was on acid and following my friend in a red jacket around at a party. he walks up to a group of people and stars saying hello high-fiving them and giving fist bumps so I do the same to this group of like 7 dudes. after talking with them and hanging out for about 30 minutes, I look over and realize the guy in the red jacket is not my friend. Somehow I got confused and started following some random dude also wearing a red jacket and I understand. I was some cool dude doing acid and they all figured I knew someone else in the group.
