Ummm...isn't there some rule about "headliner first, then, front and back glass?" Why...yes there is! Some poor trimmer is gonna' be cussing you....
Stout work Tommy. I'm gonna need me some of that Banjos Hot Rod Shop clothing when I see you in September!
I wish there was a part 2
Times got hard and sold it sorry
Cross member mounts pretty weak looking.
Thanks
I don't think that's the way Sammy Shelor would play Fireball Mail but not bad for a genuine hillbilly 😉
Thanks for being Real and Bob is my Uncle .
I guess good enough.
You needed to spend a little more time in that blast cabinet 😂😂😂😂
great video! love the edits
LOVE IT PAPA!
thank you sweetie
Looks good ol buddy! I wanna hear El Cumbanchero in front of the Camaro…or an El Camino
i'll put it on the list ole boy
Looking good Tommy!
Thanks 👍 ole son
Ol’ truck is lookin good!
I think that anytime you can take parts from two cars to make one good driver is a win for the classic car group. I personally drive a 61Impala 4-door as my only car. 46 years and 250,000+ miles of enjoyment. Do I wish it was a 2-door? Sure, but for most of the time, it's more convenient for family & friends in and out of the back seat. If I ever cut it up, it'll be a convertible!
Anymore videos of this car? Show how to make side glass work?
we got a regulator out of a donor car, but it want roll down all the way, no videos i did this in 2007
Tommy,,You did a great job in this video! Thank You for taking the time to show & explain alot of aspects of installation of a LS in a Tri five.
You are very welcome, made it cause i could'nt find one at the time on youtube thanks
Cómo, montar los fliper en las puertas?
Thanks I'm doing my now
Good 2 door conversion
U should go with Weld wheels
Love your skills! Four door cars are knock your cool factor down by 8 points out of 10. Two doors are spotty and cool. Ignore the loser negative comments below because I find your video inspiring and your talent amazing! You four door purists are, simply, just not cool dudes!
Do you bolt the new floor to the frame before install? Do you center the bolt holes? Thanks.
Yes I did bolt the pan to the frame, I took 4 long bolts and cut the heads off them and put 3 in the front and two in the back to use to guide them through the bushings on the frame, after everything lined up took them out got all body bolts in loose the adjustment where made then tightened snug
Sorry 2 in the front
@@banjoshotrodshop39 Thanks Tommy!

Conversation……..the door whisperer…good job
Kind of wondering what happened to the future videos giving the age of this one??
times got hard and i had to sell it
@@banjoshotrodshop39 well I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe something else to come along as time improves
If the front seat is still in there and it's original and the springs are suitable for rebuilding the seat. Use it to finance part of the build of the rest of the car. Given how valuable they are. A couple of bucket seats and a console looks nice anyway. And the cheap to buy
Did you buy a lottery ticket that day? I believe we make our own luck but on that day a free 55 to do a hardtop is a great deal any day. Well as Rusty as it is you have to start with a 55 hardtop if you want to build one. I think the frames are the same for a tri fives. I've got a 57 Chevy frame if you need one. The car is already off it. I've seen a lot worse turned into something nice.
Great job great work! I'd be interested in seeing what else you doing nowadays. I've been leaning towards doing a 56 Chevy or a 57 Chevy 4 door conversion into a two door. Simply because I have them. I've already got two door post and if you go hardtop that are real from GM. But my very first car was the first year of the Chevy 2 novas and it's a four-door. Oh I did a great job disassembling it. Sure wish I knew were all the cards parts went to! But I'm thinking taking this red Chevy 2 Nova with the white racing stripe on the hood as it has been for many years and making it into a two door. If I can't find the two doors I'll just modify the existing four doors. Thanks for the inspiration. Death to the four door. I see that somewhat jokingly because of some of the comments you got about killing off the four doors.
Looks clean
Nice
I would love to spend just 1 weekend at that shop
Hey Tommy, just wanted to see if you still have the 55. Sure do miss your how to videos. Thanks and God bless!
Yes I’ve got it just about done thanks for asking, I’ll try to get some videos up again
Does epoxy prime prevent rust, even in moisture?
It sticks to bare metal really good, if a car is fixed and stays in the dry, I would say yes, but if your gonna leave it out side in the weather then probably not
You ruined that car it’s reasons like this that the four doors don’t exist anymore
No rust and recycling are the reasons is no four doors left. Really how many two-door conversions are they? I find them very interesting. Also cannibalization ate up many four doors and station wagons back in the day! Although I appreciate any old car left on the road. Try this on for size death to the four door!
Very informative. Thank you
Cool old 55 Chevy project
Great job guys!
...hardest part is to get the rubber on??? ...Yeah I feel for you!!! hehe
What a waste of a good 4 door driver....smh
I know right. Super sad to see
How did you get the chrome shinned up so nice what did you use? thanks
Question do u put the windshield first or the chrome to at the same time ??
Thank you for sharing your knowledge
Nice hardtop, im currently doing a frame off restoration on my 57 210 2 door sedan, you can see my progress on my youtube page...i love 57 chevys!

You can slide a two piece floor in through the front windshield and then the other.
Man that's awesome! A free 55 Chevy!!
Really cool he just gave you a 55 what a guy. Like that your going to leave the patina on it. I'm building a 55 to but a old style gasser and leaving the old patina on it. Just had to fix all the rusted floors and stuff. I'll sub you like to see what you do with it. Take care thanks for sharing👍
