    Dr. Carol Gilligan's work, helps us find a PATH out of this old system. Ethics of CARE is revered, rewarded etc. We need to start in homes, in childhood rearing and in our society that celebrates collaboration not competition. It is programming, we need to be looking at...or as Gloria Steinem would say de-programming..."unlearning".

  • @laurettaleone6482

    I happened upon this video in my stream, and chose to listen to it because it had the word scapegoat and Feminism together (along with Andrea Dworkin, who I have been learning about LATE in my life, as it was not available to me before this time). I have come to understand womyn are the scapegoats of patriarchy. I have come to learn about "patriarchy" , again LATE in life. I knew something was deeply wrong , as no one was able to have a true relationship. I could see how something was 'wrong". I am deeply grateful to hear you womyn talking about what I have discovered, that womyn do not support each other. That most every womyn is living with the patriarch. This system programs the next generation and we do not have a "tribe" to help us make this shift to equality. It keeps getting splintered off, when we make any small progress. Stockholm syndrome is another thing I had come to see applies to womyn in relationships with men. It sucks your soul, your identity, your energy...and then when your own children grow, they also scapegoat mom's, require HER to be an object of service and if she dare speak up for herself, or speak up about how SHE is feeling or needs or wants...they are up in arms and basically blackmail her, with THEIR presence or the grandchildren's presence...to either conform , go back in the box or lose contact..until SHE does conform. AND no one helps HER , not even family, to help keep this connection. I know of many womyn that finally stood up for themselves and then their children ghost them. SHE is expendable!!! So she finally figures out the oppression, as her health declines over decades in patriarchy programming, finds her voice only for her beloved children to NOW do what the system (along with the mother's compliance to the system) taught them, and to oppress the MOM, just as she is healing. And no female friends or family to help HER, as they scapegoat HER. It must be HER. Just do what your children ask, they say. Conform..what are you thinking??????? Bad MOM! All of these layers. Thanks SOOOO much for talking about this. It helps with the gaslighting. It helps with the brainwashing. It helps with understanding this damaging system. It helps to keep reaching, one more day. Even when I have tried to inform my female friends, just as you say, they shut down. One feels alone in this, as one is trying to deprogram. EVEN counselors rarely talk, if ever, about patriarchy/oppression/misogyny, "just say it nicer"..ugh. It is NOT how we say it, it is THAT we say it. Patriarchy requires we NOT say. Unless it is to be of service, agree, oppress. The isolation, like you talk about MAKES IT HARDER. Thank goodness for video's like yours!!! BRAVO for your courage, your strength AND for you three coming together FOR womyn, AS womyn, talking things out, to find solutions to equality, respect, regard, inclusion, MATTERING!

    The Idea is. That this is not gonna end patriarchal sexual scripts but rather making it mutual . And when making it mutual, the one who has the physical muscle strength ( the man ) will choose when to be abused and when not and we to be viewed as passive object and when to be a dominant subject. While women would still can't have the privilege of choicd when to be abused and be viewed as sex object and when NOT. Men can choose to go back and force as they want, they have the physical strength and the social power and economic power. Maybe the only men who would really be abused during this process are gay men who are economically poor who are forced to perform submissive sex acts for the pleasure of wealthy gay men. Or young boys regardless of sexuality who would be groomed to join onlyfans for the illusion that's gonna add for them a quick profit.

  • @The_Egyptian_queen
    @The_Egyptian_queen Před 28 dny

    I agree with her that conventional sex acts are misogynistic. And men and women sexuality needs to be freed from pre-assigned roles during sex acts to break the cycle of hierarchy in sex and also to have more spontaneous sex acts than pretending to fulfill a social rule that holds unwritten scripts of misogyny. But what I see missing here. Is that gay culture ( lesbian culture in this sense ) holds binary irreversible " gender " rules and " sex " rules of the heterosexual relationship. The whole Idea of femme/ butch think is a recreation of patriarchy.

  • @The_Egyptian_queen
    @The_Egyptian_queen Před 28 dny

    This is an internalized misogyny ideas that existed in feminist literature among other theories that sounds less internalised misogynistic like the socialization theory being replaced and given more values than biological differences. Women are ashamed of their biological differences ( old school feminism is the iceberg of this shamefulness). Because we are socialised to think of our biological traits as a barrier to our gender liberation. Don't get me wrong I am not using biological differences between females and males to suggest that there's no biological differences among the one sex group or saying that socialisation theory is wrong. But I guess that there's an internalised misogyny factor in which women felt their biology is a barrier to their own liberty so ( as it was said to them ) and therefore they tended to focus their mental power to escape biology altogether like what Andera has done. Or otherwise focus on on socialization as the sole factor in women oppression without mentioning how patriarchy can use female biological differences and uniqueness against them. And therefore a lot of feminists uptill now think that any remote mentioning of biology is necessary an Alt-right propaganda that aimed at stereotyping women. And I can't blame them for that because it's a reality that patriarchy and its supporters are reading biology from a biased and ideologically-driven perspective. Like those who say that women enjoy masochism in sex whilst NOT mentioning men at all who enjoy masochism in sex or mentioning them with an attempt to insist they are the exception to the rule ( which is not true ), And of course denying the pornfied propaganda ( the socialisation factor) and only focusing in provided a false and biased narrative and perception on evolutionary psychology that benefits patriarchy. Thanks so much for providing a critique to old school feminism. I respect the second wave feminists like Andera so much and enjoyed listened to a feminist criticism to old school feminism. That's important to keep the movement fresh and evergreen. Thank you ❤

Anyway the big thing is.. that they forget the primary concepts of good mental health and well being.. which is acceptance and non resistance where we have no control over others, only our own reactions. so if they want to 'identify ' as an x or Y that's fine but don't get bent out of shape when others don't agree. We are also talking about peoples morality, ethos and values and they can't be changed regardless of laws. it just means that those people who don't agree with the law makers risk losing their personal freedom to accommodate the emotional needs of those that suffer, and the egos of doctors and scientists. I am gutted by todays decision with the HRC in Australia. I feel like I've been stripped of my identity, because MEN want to be women and compete in women's events or hang out in women's spaces. what I find really interesting is that the Human Rights Commission acknowledged back in the 80s that WOMEN (that is - Biological women) needed a safe and independent space. lets not forget that Aboriginal Australians are allowed to have 'sacred men's business' and 'sacred women's business', and in fact the Balinese and other indigenous cultures have similar but we in Australia (and many western nations) will now BS each other that we are 'the same' because Doctors can now play God with our genitalia and our hormones. Where in that decision making was the rights of biological women considered? I wonder if now we have to put up religious disclaimers when we want a 'sacred woman's space?'. I like how Sal describes that a few thousand years ago, there may have been some ambiguity about the shape of the earth. A flat earth may have still been a valid consideration back then, lacking all the means we have today to establish it's shape. But at least they knew what a man and a woman was. Nowadays, this whole sex vs gender issue is even dumber than flat earth. I can't think of anything more obvious to establish than the sex of a person, but for some reason we have to take someone's figment of their mind (gender) over the biological reality. Of course you can be trans, but to be trans you would have to have something to transistion from. The question is: do you actually become the opposite sex, factually? Maybe for all intents and purposes you do, but biologically you don't. And that's what's at stake here.

      @@janelliot5643 yes. They are not " going their own way" , they are going on their way to exploit prostituted women. It's easy to talk about male separatism when they are capitalising from women unpaid labour ( including " third world" women labour ). And sell and buy and benefit financially and sexually from exploiting female bodies.

    This really isn't name calling, but neo-fascist writers ( I'm thinking Maurice Bardeche) also wrote nostalgically and very poetically about lost good times where man and woman held a home together, lived modestly and happily, and that progress is an alien concept making us unhappy and unsatisfied. It's actually scary to see women who call themselves feminists entertain such ideas.

    We are sex realists. Gender is a fantasy. Sex shapes us, it does not define us.

    It seems that with setting up the intelligibility project, the contact with reality is lost. It's not just that she has lost sight of the constituents. The reality is that women are maltreated in the world. For example, violence of men against women. Is undertaking the intellibility project the right way to get men to see women (and everybody else) as intelligible, which then means that they would want to beat them up less? Do men beat women up because they're not intelligible to them? In a way, yes, because they see women as less than human. But on the other hand, that's just a small part of what is going on. They're also horny, want to control the physically weaker ones who they desire, etc. That all doesn’t go away by making women intelligible (or destroying the category difference between men and women).

    No such thing as a woman who was born a man! Time for the courts and other institutions to step up for womens rights and stop designing the world around men!
