Russian Roulette scene - "Silencio en la Nieve" (2011)
Already facing terrible odds, some Axis soldiers choose to gamble on their lives.
Powerful scene from Spanish war drama / crime thriller, "Silencio en la Nieve" (2011), set somewhere in the Eastern Front in 1943.

John Adams has an awkward meeting in Amsterdam. Present value of $10 million from 1790: $259 million using the Consumer Price Index $242 million using the GDP deflator $4.8 billion using the unskilled wage $10.8 billion using the nominal GDP per capita $12.3 billion using the Production Worker Compensation $860.00 billion using the relative share of GDP A modest request indeed. Game of Thrones - War Stories

King Robert, Ser Barristan Selmy and Ser Jaime Lannister sharing war stories. One of my favorite scenes in the show. All rights to this clip belong to HBO.
this is such a beautiful, artful scene. it shows how Robert has spent his time - wallowing in bitterness and melancholia, memory and his own relatively egocentric narratology. tho he makes a few key observations and lays down a kind of bassline for the rest of the show. reminds me of: czcams.com/video/vIZlCWqpLGg/video.htmlsi=W2xMa4jgiAm1_g-p
You really get to see the inner turmoil of King Robert here. You get to see the part of him who yearns to just do what he used to do best…fight, be strong, and reap the rewards. …and then he starts to remember the horrors & the dead; and he starts to get guilty. Then he circles back to the living…and himself…and he starts to envy the dead for not having to deal with all the nobles & politics…and then he gets angry, and… WINE!
I like how Jaime gives Barristan a little look as he leaves, as much as to say "you're a more patient man than I am to put up with standing in the same room as this guy for more than 5 minutes".
Eddie Hall should play a young Robert, 350lb 6'3" swinging a giant hammer, would be perfect
Amazing to think that if Robert had been nicer to Lancel then he'd have never have been killed.
One of the best scenes
LMAO, Bobby B such a ball buster
I love the Dutch scene here, all business No emotion no smile when Adams speaks 😂
"Gods I was strong then!"
Mark addy. Gods never saw someone act so natural
Why was robert so cruel to lancel? Same with cersei. No wonder he joins a cult. Hes genuinely a sympathetic character despite the arse he becomes as a Sparrow.
Because they are Lannisters and without Tywin Lannister and his army, gold and everything they did and do for the crown Robert wouldn’t be able to handle the crown, that is something that hurts his weak ego and to sleep better at night he makes sure every Lannister is miserable
I like how Robert just casually segues into a complaint about his enlarged prostate.
The real question. Did America payback all the loans?
god i would love a prequel about robert the demon of the trident
I think everyone would. I don’t see why it hasn’t happened yet. There’s been rumors but they always seem to be shut down.
It always bothered me a bit that everyone was so focused on hating Jamie for killing the king, but worshipping Robert for the rebellion. Ned is the most hypocritical about it. He treats Jamie like crap for betraying a murderous psychopath, but has no problems being besties with Barriston Selmy, who faithfully served to the bitter end. They all respect a knight who stands by and watches thousands get murdered because he upheld his vow, but vilify a knight who saves thousands by killing the murderer because he broke a vow to do it.

I miss Robert so much. Such a fun character, GODS GAME OF THRONES WAS STRONG THEN
Feel like that later statement about Robert barristan says encapsulates robert. He was a good man. He had a good sense of humor, had little patience for peeps being high on their own farts, and was under no delusion he was any better than any other man. He also felt genuine guilt for killing the people he killed in the war too. But non of these elements mean he'd make a good king. He ultimately took the crown cause, he had to after breaking the targaryean's back, and hated every second of it. The war didn't get his love back, nor truly satisfy his thirst for vengeance, and ended up ruling the land he beat into submission to satisfy both, married for convenience rather than love, always wondering if he should have handed that crown to someone better.
He should've yelled "Yield!" like Lommy and Hot Pie... Then told Robert he had to carry him.
WINE!!
Robert's commanding voice 🔥
Shows the respect jamie has for Ser Barristan he gave him a nod and a smile, Robert barely got a bow.
GODS, I WAS STRONG THEN
Jamie is one of my heroes. 🦁 I... Prefer when he dates Brianne though lol 🤣
I NEED to see a live action Robert vs Rhaegar 🗡️🔨
I didn't understand what Robert means by " Is that what empty means " ??
GODS the writing was good then
How did he swing the hammer with those tiny arms?
“Stupid boy….” He definitely felt bad the way he looked and said it, didnt regret it of course but felt bad for the young lad
Am I reading this right? Robert feels badly about killing that Tarly boy?
He enjoyed being strong, not mindlessly killing people. As time wore him down, he started to think about things, realizing how the Tarly boy died such a meaningless death. Part of what he was saying is that he remembers their faces. It might be guilt, or just seeing that face when he sleeps may disturb him to the point of thinking about scenarios where it could've been different.
@@XSacredX27 thank you.
Never let a revolution go to waste. The lannisters certainly didn’t.
“Burn them all” the delivery from Jaime and the look in Roberts face is SO fucking good
yesss I got chills lol
This scene is amazing, the subtle facial expression change by Robert when Jaime told him what the Mad King said. It conveyed so much with so little. Just a glimpse into how crazy the Mad King was.
Robert was a verbal savage.
Robert is the guy I felt sorry for the most in the show. He wasn’t a pleasant man but he was not evil. Just a sad depressed man that won his war in his prime. Once there was no one else to fight he was lost. Was born to lead on a battlefield. And the best ending he could have asked for was dying there. But he had to carry on leading people through politics. While the battle of politics is an Alien concept to him. He was use to enemy on the battlefield showing respect and chivalry. While on the Kings council he had to learn which one of his allies would stab him in the back when the time came.
"Kingslayer! Get in here!" You could tell that Robert was pleased by that😂
Was this scene in the book?
nope
Brilliant acting 👏
This is proof that they do have writing ability, since this scene is absent from the books, but they just didn't feel like it for the last 2 seasons
Jaime had so much respect for Selmy, you could see it in that little nod as he left
The guy that played Robert is such a good actor
Who was your first kill not counting old men ?
I think what makes this show great is it really delves deep into the humanity behind the stories of the fantastical. Great battles and weddings and kings and knights, they’re just stories highlighting the interesting bits, but it’s the aftermath of those stories that we never hear about. The so called “happily ever after, the end”. We come to find out happily ever after doesn’t always mean what we think it does, and those who are dubbed as “greater men and women” are just as flawed as the rest of us. Great show, great acting.
He said the same thing he’d been saying for HOURS….. “Burn them ALL”….. one of the most chilling lines in all of GOT.
D&D… gods what a shtewpid name
Man the writing was insanely good in the earlier seasons…
Jamie as Azor Ahai would have been a much better ending imo, we’ve all seen that Reddit post right? “As Jamie gets between Bran and the night king, laughing, he says “do you know what they call me ?” 🥶
The Dutch had the richest company in history worth trillions of dollars look it up
I just finished watching a clip of the battle of winterfell from season 8. Then I watched this clip. I wonder how alive Robert would have felt in a battle like that.
Imagine being a kings guard and having to listen to this bullshit everyday and sober.
