Imagine being the CFO of a company with average 45million cashburn per month such as Gorillas and then getir.. that’s it’s closing immediately in a Europe because it’s no longer sustainable..and your past experience is similar. He should rethink his support team in Europe at least , they are abusive , block accounts randomly , and do not reply to messages. Defeats the purpose blocking accounts that make purchases on the platform and then ignoring them and just sending a copy paste answer , over and over .very frustrating talking to a bot -Slim bot that is.

Another issue with VC baked marketplaces are easy to scale but extremely hard to break even as technology nowadays is very easy to develop and there is no competitive advantage on it. I would advise to start with a tool like a fintech tool for example ( wechat did this) and than introducing other products and services built on top of it, which makes convenience and switching costs very high for the demand side.

What most marketplace founders don’t realize is that big public marketplace companies focus 99% on monetization which leaves you with an extra supply that is fairly easy to attract. In the other hand, demand won’t follow even if your marketplace liquidity is good ( for Uber: liquidity is lead time by X minutes..) especially if switching cost are high for demand even if it’s usability costs ( downloading another app for ex…)

Note for editor - please level out the volumes of each clip so there's not such a dramatic change in volume from one speaker to the next.
