I use practically exclusively MDT components on my KNX installation and it's working very well. MDT has an IP interface, which works well with home assistant at my friends house. Myself, in this case not mdt, have a weinzierl IP interface, which works also well with HA. I didn't have any problems getting either of the above to work with HA. Be aware you need ETS to make the interface work.

Send me a link to a cubase file with a track as you seem appropriate to duplicate and I can see what I can do. However, I don't have the Intel Mac anymore, so can only test on Air M1 and Pro M3 Max.

Yes I have added an unsinkable middle section to make it longer and give it more lift, changed the connection system and the sunroof and we have been out many times in the past years :) Was well worth the time and cost building it compared to renting boats or pedalos. :)

Hi, thanks for watching. Of course you are right. This is not a realistic studio scenario at all. It's not supposed to be. This is supposed to be a comparison of the three devices by maxing them completely out. This is meant to show the scale between the devices. This is meant to compare the possible performance and what to expect if you upgrade. To me it is absolutely amazing that the humble 800$ MacBook Air is enough for pro-music production while being fan-less. Also you probably missed that in the end I clearly state that all devices are sufficient for professional music production (16:45)

Sort of. If you already have the KNX adresses and don't plan to change any settings on any of the KNX-devices, then you don't need ETS at all. HomeAssistant is just another KNX-device which listens to and reads from the KNX-Bus just as any actor, switch, sensor etc. would do. Once HA knows the adresses it can communicate. However, if you want to change things on a KNX device, say, having it listen to another KNX-address or control another Actor or whatnot, then you still need ETS.

If you have neither you probably have to reverse engineer your knx. First step would be to monitor your KNX bus. I have never tried it, but a quick google search gave me this: knxmonitor.com Then you can see what is happening on your knx bus. With things you can trigger yourself, you will quickly find the addresses. Like buttons, and actor states. Things you can not trigger, like sensors, will require more time and ideas. Once you have the addresses you can fill the knx.yaml.

Danke für Dein Feedback! Freut mich sehr! Leider weiss ich nicht genau was es bedeutet "auf der Basis von freien Gruppenadressen aufgebaut". Ich gehe nun mal davon aus, dass es bedeutet, dass du wirklich keine Möglichkeit hast den Export aus der ETS so zu machen, wie ich es im Video gezeigt habe. Weiter gehe ich davon aus, dass die Gruppenaddresse 1/1/1 mit "1" korrespondiert und die Gruppenadresse 31/7/255 mit 65535 korrespondiert. Für diesen Fall kannst Du die Zahlen in einer Spalte von Excel in KNX-Gruppenadressen im bekannten Format in den danebenliegenden Spalte verwandeln. Die Formel hat Chat-GPT für mich gefunden. Ich habe sie getestet und sie sieht so aus: =GANZZAHL(A1/2048)&"/"&GANZZAHL(REST(A1;2048)/256)&"/"&REST(A1;256)

@@jumbleblue Guter Hinweis, das mit der EXCEL Umrechnungsformel. Ich hatte mir so etwas ähnlich schon vor 10 Jahren zusammengebastelt, allerdings so, dass die 3 stufige GA auch in 3 Spalten abgebildet wurde. Ich hätte nie gedacht, dass auch jetzt noch wahrscheinlich niemand außer mir dieses Format für ETS GA's anwendet, obwohl es innerhalb der ETS m.E. weit besser ist, weil man sich seine eigenen Adresscontainer anlegen kann, sowohl was die Größe als auch was die Struktur betrifft. Übrigens ist die GA 1/1/1 nicht die dezimale 1, das wäre die 0/0/1, sondern es ist dezimal die 2305! Interessant, dass ChatGPT selbst solche Sachen findet! Mit welchem Suchtext muss man es denn dafür "füttern"?

@@jumbleblue Verwunderlich, dass die richtige Formel rausgekommen ist, wo du doch einen Offset von plus 1 reingemacht hast! Die KNX GA starten ja tatsächlich bei 0 (0/0/0), aber die Null ist Broadcast, deshalb starten die regulären GA bei 0/0/1 = 1 Dezimal. Damit ist 0/1/0 256, nicht 257. Aber danke, ich werde mich dann auch mal mit Chat GPT befassen müssen….

@@eibdoktor Das ist typisch ChatGPT. Alles was code und digital und binär und hex etc. betrifft versteht er irgendwie von selbst. ChatGPT erleichtert mir mein Leben gewaltig. etwa soviel wie mir damals google das Leben erleichtert hat.

Hey Manu, das ist leider Handarbeit. Du exportierst zuerst deine Gruppenadressen so wie im Video gezeigt aus ETS. Am besten du machst ein zweites Blatt innerhalb vom Template-ExcellSheet und kopierst die Gruppenadressen dann da rein. Dann ist es copy paste und ausschneiden - einfügen. Mit ein wenig Strategie und Geschick geht es ziemlich schnell, wenn Deine Gruppenadressen system haben. Wenn nicht dauert das eine Weile. Doch der Aufwand lohnt sich, weil du danach alles automatisch und vollständig und grösstenteils fehlerfrei hast.

Das weiss ich leider nicht mehr genau. Was ich aber noch weiss ist, dass wir drei Tage lang gearbeitet haben und sicher nicht mehr als 200kg hatten. Wir haben aber auch immer wieder mal zusammengewischt, gefiltert und noch mal gebraucht. Wobei das immer zu nervigen Verstopfungen geführt hat, was wiederum viel Zeit gekostet hat. Wir hatten nicht das richtige Sieb, stellte sich später raus.
