one of the best concerts one will ever hear. perfection
Thank you for speaking out Scott. God bless you for speaking the truth.
Dont think there's any point putting my small comment on, cause well, its all been said and done, the best solo songwriter in the world, cant ever get ever better, God bless you Gordon, and keep god happy up there in heaven with all your beautiful songs, ❤❤❤❤
I listen to Gordon Lightfoot when I was younger and there's always been something magical that touches the soul Thank You Gordon for beautiful magic 😊
Gosh, those acoustic guitars sound so frikin' gooood. Timeless
where is the original video?
Gordon was a great song writer but he was human. Not a friendly man when he was on the drunk. Either way his songs are beautifully written and played and they invoke certain emotions. As a person he fell short. Reminds me of me
His estate is going to give back what he stole too
Why do I come tears listening, me, 73? Every song touches a me to run a memory movie.
Righteous my brother of the beach!
It’s not there anymore😔😞
He was part of the soundtrack of my life. We used to say that The Wreck of The Edmund Fitzgerald was the other Canadian national anthem. He is irreplaceable.
If you could read my mind may be one of the greatest songs ever written.
Rest in peace you legend. Cannot believe he is gone 😢 ...from Fort Worth, Texas
Gordon Lightfoot is one of the greatest Canadians of all time from Orilla Ontario, a native Canadians who is a hero to all Canadians.Your music will live forever! Rest in peace Mr. Lightfoot 🙏😢 ....from Texas
Protip: "Native Canadian" means something different in Canada than in Texas, O wandering Brisketmaster
Rest in peace Mr.Lightfoot . We still love and miss you! ❤ ....from Texas
Even live it sounds like a recording - perfection ! 🙏
I loved this man above all others!! ❤❤
Red Shea was such a great player and person. So many great musicians have left us in the last few years. These were real artists who delivered the goods...live. Gordon is still one of my all-time favorites. What a voice. What a talent for songwriting. RIP, Gord.
Oh, I'll do the right thing alright. I can't take Scott seriously. So much malice. Glad Scott's not my parent. Newgent is the most anti-trans trans person I've ever seen, and there've been some doozies. Medical transition's been around since the early 1900s, it's refined. Scott just worked with bad people who need to pay the price for shoddy work (same goes for similar others). There have been people who benefited from gender affirming care, Scott's just not one of them. Quite sadly. I wouldn't ban in Europe, I'd constructively tweak protocol, incriminate crap personnel and instill superior replacements. Same goes America, though the really serious stuff should come at later age and date. There always needs to be worthy guidelines and practitioners regarding gender affirming care, across the board. That would prevent tragedy and help others. I'm quite sure the Swedish study stated that treatments reduced gender dysphoria but didn't complete alleviate it. A lot of outside factors harm the trans community despite support, so I'm not surprised that there's higher despondency and suicide rates than the general population. That being said purehearted, happily transitioned individuals exist. Newgent isn't really helping to change negative matters for the better. He is counterproductive. Lashing out and partaking in destructive, offputing behavior won't help. There's a wrong way to be woman or man in Scott's eyes- trans, ironically. For somebody who apparently cares about children, Scott spoke to an open theocratic fascist who gets defensive about comments pertaining to teenage fertility and would make their daughters give birth to predation-caused pregnancy. Medically victimized people should be covered, that I grant you. However, in spite of being wronged, Scott has devolved into something unheroic and internally ugly. Lots of transwomen, and girls for that matter, are better than him.
One of the greatest to ever do it rip
Amazing to hear just how well these three men play live. The comment section is full of superlatives, all deserved. So many beautiful songs and everyone seems to have a memory attached. Thank Gordon - Red - and Rick.
this dude was as good as anyone who ever wrote and performed.
Bob Dylan paid him the ultimate compliment: "His songs were so good you wished they would go on forever..."
Watching this; it's hard for me to believe, he's gone now.
Wow, one of the best singers, songwriter, ever! Thanks Gord. John P.
In MHO this is when Gord was at his absolute best. Top of his game. And Red was still with him to add to the sound of that period. Great, great stuff. No drums, no keyboard, no harmony singers, no dancers, no flashing lights or big screens, no autotune. Two guitars, one bass, one singer. That'll do. Thanks to BBC for recording this marvelous, excellent quality concert for posterity.
He was phenomenal here, but I’d say 1975 beats this. He had Red, Rick, Terry, and Pee Wee backing him.
@@coltonnovak1887Which 1975 performance?
XX≠XY in not news. "Man bites dog is news." It's practically a form of vivisection--what's the difference between putting a cat's head on a dog or putting a penis on a woman, turning a man's penis into a vagina or woman's vagina into a penis?
My wife and I saw him perform in 2015 in Tacoma, Washington. We lucked out with 4th row seats, almost center to the stage. It was one of my all-time favorite concerts and I've been to over 100 in my lifetime and seen many of the great bands (Zeppelin, Who, Journey, Queen, etc.). I love this man's music.
We saw him on his 80th birthday, Hershey Pa. Was fortunate to see him live. A Canadian treasure forever.
This man wrote the score of my life... From my days in Ontario, then Alberta, then across the globe... His music reflected my life times that likely mirrored his in a way... From my first GF in 1970, to my battle with cancer in 2024... RIP Gord, see you soon I think ... somewhere near Jesus ....
how are you holding up, friend?
Prayers for your health and healing. God's hand is on you, and he has a plan for you.
God Bless
Beauty.
This concert is a gem!
Gordon is a big part of the musical fabric of my youth. What a stunning, iconic minstrel.
I saw him when I was about 17 at Massey Hall! 4th row from the stage. No need to say anything else!!!
Class of 84 methuen high. To lyod at mr tux Lawrence ma. Hello Mr cohen
One of the most sincere activists on the planet.
This brings back many memories to the surface when Lightfoot recorded the original songs. Another time , another place and another era - Thank you Gordon for a wonderful legacy and a collection of songs I will always treasure.
Eternal rest grant onto Gordon Lightfoot, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen
Stunning !
It was magical to hear his music live ❤.
The way he sings is incredible a true storyteller stunning voice , R.I.P. Gordon Lightfoot
Bless you Gordon Lightfoot.... Love You and love your music... Where ever you are fly with the eagels..💖
Been a Gordie fan since his first album. Never heard a Gordie song I didn't love. Saw him live when he was young and then when he was old. He was great from beginning to end.
Even if he hadn’t written all those incredible songs, just that voice alone was incredible. Miss him.
"If I didn't write the song, I'll tell ya, folks." A true songwriter, there.
I'm glad he saw the light regarding "For Lovin' Me" before he left us. Good to know he recognized the error of his ways.
Some damn good music came out of the early 70s
Canadians are no talent bums. Except for Leonard of course.
I'm sorry, for "Nous Vivons Ensemble" Gordon said it's the song from Kris Kristofferson or did I hear it wrong?
Gord wrote NVE, the KK song he sang was Me and Bobby McGee
@@coltonnovak1887 thanks
