Squid on Bass, Casio and drums. Jim on guitars and vocals. I wish I would have Film those session! We used a Teac 3340s 4tks reel to reel. Recorded at Tommy's Jay place on Weber Road in Clintonville Ohio. Most of it Shepard released on the green paper 17th configs tape which I printed at work. I use to do a lot of printing for local bands back then. Stole the supplies from the City Government. Tommy was in Jamaica for a whole month. Woopie! Let me a pound of weed to smoke! Also Mike Rock hung out. Lot of beer and mayhem. I think I was living in the dyke house with Lynn Cart at the time. After we were done Chris The A, Roxanne, Jimbo, and I watch the the first MTV broadcast on QUBE TV. I was recording Roxy, Jim and Cris the A at the time. Also Ron House, Charlie Wince & I tried to form a 3 piece band. I gave Ron a lot of guff because he was a better songwriter then me. So that folded quickly. Then the furnace went out and the kitchen roof fell in in the middle of a blizzard. So I said fuck it and move back to the Dyke house cause the pipes froze. We had a bucket that Cris and I had to chip ice to get drinking water. Used a space heat in the music room to heat the house.

I just "stumbled over" P, P & M's "Late again" album here on YT. "Love City" is one of best tracks of the album. It sounds very Simon & Garfunkelish to me, especially when you compare it with their "Bookends" album, which was released a few months earlier than "Late again". 🙂 👍

I remember reading in an interview that Pollard seemed to think this was their worst record for some reason? Or maybe that fans seemed to hate it? Either way, I wish they'd bring this song back into the setlist!! Am I really one of the few that actually loves Sandbox? Hope I'm not alone. This is one of my favorite GBV songs ever!!
