Vero Sucks, don't move here. It's boring and there is nothing to do. Lived here for 10 years and still haven't found something to do. The beach gets boring after a year and if you have a boat, there isn't an inlet so you have to hang out in the river unless you want to make a run to the inlet which is about 30 minutes. Just adding, the river looks darker than chocolate milk. It used to be nicer but there is too much runoff into the lagoon and since the river that feeds into Lake Okeechobee has been altered straight for shipping purposes, they have to drain an insane amount of the lake into the lagoon all the time. So I suggest moving to Fort Pierce or Jupiter. There is way more to do and the water is beautiful since there is an inlet.

I'd like to retire to Vero Beach, Florida. I lived there way back in the early 1970's. I was a meat cutter for Winn Dixie on A1A. I went to Indian River community college and then moved back to Georgia.

Vero beach is wonderful - we're from VA and the prices are double and TRIPLE what you can buy here - new homes! We love it here. Won't go back to VA.

Yes, if you have alot of money in the bank Vero would be a great place to live. Lots of eager people to take advantage of. Look out for the crazy girl, she will take everything.

personally i love Vero Beach i've worked my ass off my entire life. for years i worked 90 hour weeks in a prison. now at 46 i am retired and loving life in vero. why are so many americans so eager to look for a free ride like it is an entitlement. if you receive assistance that means someone has to pay more in taxes so you can receive it. and by regular jobs maipai101 you been unskilled jobs. than maybe more people should try harder early in, life. you reap what you sow.

@maipai101 Interesting. When a community offers to take care of people such as homeless, homeless tend to flock there. And then what takes place? The city is full of homeless who do not want to contribute. Sure some homeless are disadvantaged, but there are programs for those people. If rent is too high and wages are too low, then move. Kids should not be "hanging out". They should be doing something constructive. What have YOU done for the community? Have you created any jobs?

ummm..Undertow as in the restaurant is pretty amazing, too. and I can't believe you all let this one pass: Mr Manatee's = swamp food. One of the best things about Vero are the amazing restaurants and I assure you, that ain't one of 'em. If you want great casual dining in Vero try the Red Onion! Geez, I miss home.

sounds like a great place to live, we dont waste our tax money on unproductive people :)

i definitely agree...i live here and it is definitely no hamptons the beach side is nice but its not so nice to make it on tv and i do not understand at all why people from palm beach come here, because it is not 50 times as nice as it is there..

I live there, and it sucks. The only pepole who would enjoy living here is the 50+ retirement community. . . . It's the Hamptons for old pepole.
