@@mr.preston4048 It was pretty stunning Tyson and well worth the hike in. Wouldn't typically keep a wild salmon, but the in-laws are in their 80's and can't fish anymore. A special "feed" for them.

@@MasterCrowOutdoors I have three (3) 300's (LH wind), my dad's, my uncle's and mine - manufactured in the early to late nineteen fifties. Each one of them still functions perfectly. Love them and can't bear to part with them.

No, in tidal waters under the Maritime Provinces Fishery Regulations you can run up to 5 rods with up to 6 hooks per line, for non-sportfish. However, you do have to check for variation orders which can alter this. An example is the variation orders for the Miramichi River Striped Bass fishery.

@benhookey8297 Favourite size is 3/8's or 1/2 oz. Also love the Terminators as the titanium wire won't bend. It can break though, so u have to be aware of that.

It's definitely world class Jacques! They come in huge numbers in the Spring to spawn and then there is another good run in the fall when they're back chasing smelt.

Love the rush from the kayak and hearing the reel scream Joel! Plus a little cardio as a bonus! Lol

Appreciate the comment and the important measurement was to make sure the two carpeted bunks were the proper distance apart to have the kayak sit flat. Then as you suggested, it was just a matter of moving the kayak back or forward so the weight was balanced. I did end up putting a cross brace on the frame just to stiffen it up a little as well.

There's still a half decent bass population there but the pickerel have really taken over as the dominant species. It's starting to balance out some now and they still stock landlock salmon. Not sure how the salmon are doing or if people target them. I caught a gator while trolling a dive diving plug in 20 plus feet of water so they're everywhere!

No it doesn't Joel! It was great to get my daughter out and loved every minute of it!

@TGormania The old gators are in there, but sometimes not as aggressive. I have noticed they're a little leaner than other waterways, which is usually n indication of being over populated. Nature will sort that out though.

@ClarkysAngling For the ultralight, I just have a small loop of Para cord around the shaft of the foot. I attach the carabiner on the lanyard to that.

Yes, there's smallmouth bass that come up from the Saint John River.

They've been caught in Oromocto and I suspect they're further down river as well. I just don't think guys are targeting them down there as much. The only thing that will stop them is salinity in the water.

Appreciate that, and with the heat we're experiencing this summer, I'm using it more and more!
