I was in a production of Alice by heart a few months ago, me and my cast-mates always cried backstage during afternoon and there were many occasions crying on stage during winter blooms, and there were occasions I cried listening to another room in your head, such an emotional musical, especially if your in your feels before listening to the soundtrack
It seems you are a fan of Alice by Heart and Next to Normal.
Bro Tuck Everlasting makes me want to cry every time I watch it 😢 Also the dances that Alice in Alfred do in afternoon are the dace they do in those long eyes and I just wanna cry
The Les Mis movie has very few redeemable moments, but when Aaron appears are most of them lol.
That opening caption 😂😂
who sings Don’t Do Sadness
I’m so glad you included Alice By Heart!
Lin is an amazing person but can't blend his voice for the life of him. It's too funny
What is the newsies joke thing? My school I’m new to being a fan
Can’t wait to listen through/maybe watch(?) Hadestown and Alice By Heart and let them destroy me 🥲🥹🫠👍 just gotta wait til finals are done
4:42 Just… putting this here for each time I revisit this bcz this clip is living rent free in my head 24/7 Also 14:48
5:39 woah
LOVING THE ALICE BY HEART REPRESENTATION
i had no idea wesley taylor was in alice by heart!!!! thats crazy
“only newsies fans will get the joke” plays the most overmemed scene from the entire fucking show. i still like that one video of ben riffing the fuck out of it but the joke stopped being funny in 2019 my god
My pick would be “Something Just Broke” from Assassins. There are 2 songs in the show that focus on normal people, one being “How I Saved Roosevelt” about the things they did that prevented Zangara from pulling off his assassination attempt, and the other being the aforementioned “Something Just Broke.” The song focuses on an average person’s reaction to the Kennedy assassination. They describe where they were when they heard the news, talk about how they could never forget, so on and so forth. It is HEARTBREAKING and definitely a worthwhile inclusion, considering that there are people in the audience who weren’t alive for that, unlike for the 1997 version.
I see Alice by Heart in the thumbnail, I click
Angels Funeral in Rent with Ill cover you reprise
Next to Normal will always get me. I always felt like Dan never properly grieved because he was trying so hard to keep it together for his wife who was falling apart. He never let her properly grieve either and always try to help her. People need to grieve in their own way to heal which is why she left. Then he had nothing to do but to face his own grief. I always imagined he does see Gabe in that moment as a way to heal, but it hurts again like he is losing him again. Just so heartbreaking. Some great moments and probably explains why I always cry now I cry when I'm happy or sad. I'm a mess. Thanks Broadway! I love you but I wish you also weren't so friggin expensive. That saddest moment is the pricing of some of these shows that I never got to experience live because they were over $100 a ticket. WOOOF
Aaron Tveit as Gabe is just soooooo good
3:12 The moment when all of his friends blow out their candles and Marius is left alone makes me cry every time.
Alice by heart... wish this one play in my country
My favorite sad Broadway moment was Phantom of the Opera... like the whole thing, basically lol
Who sang empty chairs at empty tables? He sounds so good!
chris mccarrell !!!! hes super talented
Dear Evan Hansen was left out. I can't tell you how many times Ben Levi Ross made me sob when I saw Dear Evan Hansen on tour a few years ago.
I'm shocked that Miss Saigon wasn't included. I have seen so many touring Broadway productions of musicals that are infamous for making people cry (i.e. Finding Neverland, The King and I, Hamilton, Les Miserables, Rent, Wicked, and Dear Evan Hansen). I even saw the renowned 2017 Broadway revival of Once On This Island (which had tears flooding my eyes at the end). However, none of them made me feel as much gutwrenching sadness as Miss Saigon did.
I finally listened to it, I will definitely have to make a sequel now!
넥 ㅠㅠㅠ "가브리엘....내 아들" 이 부분 항상 눈물나
That moment in "Next to Normal" is truly heartbreaking. Once Dan acknowledges Gabe, Gabriel is gone forever, just what Dan had given 16 years to avoid. Life can begin if they choose it!
I'll add monday/invisible from trevor cos seeing that happen to a child is just heartbreaking.

I played Phoebe D'Ysquith in my college's production of GGTLAM and I Decided To Marry You was my favorite :)
me, clicking on this video: there’s no way i’ll cry, right?
Yo 7:32 is mad impressive
is there a recording of Alice by Heart or Spamalot somewhere? How do you see some of these shows that come and go...so sad. also - I realize I just missed a bunch of musicals by working all the time and not paying attention..whereas I used to love them....lesson learned....
There’s only one boot of Alice to exist from what I’ve seen, it can be found fairly easy on CZcams. I’m not entirely sure about Spamalot because I tried having a quick look a while back, but couldn’t see anything.
so much Alice by Heart, exquisite taste
I LOVE the Alice By Heart love in this
whats the title of the first song
All I've ever known, from hadestown
the two musical theatre moments that always bring me to tears are afternoon ABH, which is so underrated, and the finale of miss saigon. “hold me one more time” just breaks me.
That line broke me too.
Can't believe you cut Sick to Death before my favourite part of it 😣
Some of my favorite Broadway duets: From Aida: "Written in the Stars" & "Elaborate Lives" From Little Shop of Horrors: "Suddenly Seymour" From Rogers & Hammerstein's Cinderella: "Do I Love You Because You're Beautiful?" From Wicked: "As Long as You're Mine" Not Broadway, but I also love "If I Never Knew You," which was supposed to be in the Pocahontas movie but was cut. Other great duets that are not "beautiful" but are certainly lots of fun: "Loathing" from Wicked "Stepsisters' Lament" from Cinderella There are so many good Broadway duets out there, I could keep going on!
Omg you’re going to make my Cinderella phase come back- all of the duets in that are AWESOME!!!
Love seeing Alice by Heart contextualised and showcased as the genuine masterpiece it is. It's my favourite show, thank you for including!
the clip of its quiet uptown is the one where pippa had just lost a family member recently and she starts to tear up at the end. you can see lin whispering asking if shes ok in the higher resolution versions. he doesnt take his eyes off her their entire exit.
"I could go on for a while but I'll leave you alone" would be a good title for literally anything
I see Eva, I click. She is freaking amazing.
love the alice by heart mention 🫶🏾
I’d like to add, 1. the second act of falsettos 2.edges of the world from fun home 3. Something’s missing from come from away
I WAS SINGING AT THE HADESTOWN PART
For good from wicked
just realised the empty chairs empty tables guy is the percy jackson guy idk how to feel help
why are you making me sob with tuck everlasting 😭
