I need to get the expansion pass just for Zelda
Love Contra uprising fantastic game that should of got a physical
1000 percent agree
MIO was kinda giving off Ori vibes. I'm definitely keeping my eye on that
I can definitely see that. Im slightly ashamed I still havent played Ori. so many games, so little time lol.
This Direct completely blew away my expectations, given where the Switch is in its life cycle. Nintendo's making sure its most successful platform goes out with plenty of grace, and it also leaves me hopeful for what ideas are being held back in anticipation for the next system. Mario & Luigi Brothership and the Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom were, in their own way, totally unexpected surprises. With Zelda in particular, it seems Nintendo is taking cues from how well-received Tears of the Kingdom was in its inventive gameplay and is allow players to have that same sense of experimentation in the 2D titles. It makes sense to have this convention-breaking game with Zelda - the character - as the lead. Beyond this, Dragon Quest, the Marvel vs. Capcom collection, and Metroid Prime 4 were among my personal favorite reveals, but it was just great to see so much variety in general, even the games that didn't speak to my gaming preferences. Probably my favorite Nintendo Direct in years, honestly.
Yeah it's crazy how much theyre still pouring into the console when it's probably near the end of its life cycle. I was shocked to see Metroid Prime 4, i for sure thought we wouldnt get that until the next Switch. They must have something really special cooking up for the next system of theyre still releasing stuff like this.
damn i had no idea this happened. i've been tapped out of videogames since kh3 dropped and haven't been following the news at all. idk if i'll be able to get back into gaming ever but this has caught my attention for now.
Yeah I think this is gonna turn a lot of heads for people who haven't been in the loop. They had a little something for everybody. This is one of Nintendo's better presentations I can think of recent memory.
Fantasian’s art style is amazing. It’s an Apple TV exclusive at the moment so I’m curious how much extra content they added.
Yeah I did a little bit of reading up on this. this game has a whole back story I didn't know about. Good to see it'll be in front of a much wider audience now. hopefully they do it justice.
@@CerealSensei410 it would be nice to have anyone other than the other 5 people who played to talk to about it. It fell off everyone’s radar the second it was announced to be an appletv exclusive.
Pascal's Wager does indeed seem like a hidden gem. I had never heard of it and seeing how you had a hard time with random enemy, I must play it now. Hope it is challenging.
In my defense I'm way better at the game now than I was when I made this video lol. But i definitely still get smacked up. It's no Sekiro in terms of difficulty but there are some challenging parts for sure. Thanks for watching!
If you haven't played The Wonderful 101, I highly recommend it. It's on the Switch now as well, but I feel like it's one of the games that had solid game pad integration, and I think it works better to do some of the stuff on the game pad screen than with a Switch controller. Another Wii U shop title that's worth a look is Affordable Space Adventures.
Wonderful 101 has been on my radar for a while. I gotta check that out for sure. I bought Affordable Space Adventures from the E shop right before it closed but I still havent tried it. That's the only reason it wasnt in this video lol. Thanks for watching!
Love your content man. You got the voice and narration skills for this. Hope your channel continues to grow
Appreciate the love. Thanks for watching!
I thought starhawk is online only ???
The multiplayer was the most popular part of the game from what I understand. but it also has a single player story campaign. it's not long though. Maybe about 5-6 hours.
It has a very interesting art style, it's very stylish. It's like a mix of Phantasy Star, Persona and NieR: Automata.
Yeah I can definitely see the Persona comparisons for sure. Funny you mention Nier. Every time something sad happened in this, Nier was the first thing I thought of lol. Thanks for watching!
This was a great review. And i agree that its very beneficial to talk to all the characters even if seemingly unimportant - the amount of additional context it gives really helps to get immersed in the story as well as better theorize about what is happening. P.S. I remember catching your stream when you were playing through the first chapter :)
Oh yeah I remember you stopping by the stream. I would have streamed the rest but the more I played, the more I realized this game needed my full undivided attention lol. Thanks for watching!
One thing I forgot to mention. The soundtrack in this game is really good. Check it out on Bandcamp! sunsetvisitor.bandcamp.com/album/1000xresist-original-soundtrack
This is my first time watching this channel and so far from what I saw, I enjoyed it. I just subscribed and gave this video a thumbs up, as far as for me I really would like more videos like this. Thank you 🙏🏽
I've got three other Switch hidden gem videos and I've done hidden gem videos for the PS3 and the Wii U also on the channel. Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Really enjoyed this one. You're right in saying that that's it's all too easy to get lost in the amount of choices we have, it feels as though we don't have anything to play at all at times. I get it, though... it's easy to feel like if you're not keeping up with the latest "big" game, you're not actually engaged in the gaming scene at all. Still, if there's one thing I've appreciated being not just a longtime gamer - but also one who's experienced a few financial hardships - it is that a truly great game never really goes out of style. I think one of the keys to looking for past gems is not being ashamed of looking like you're "behind" and just enjoy the experience. To put a slight twist on NBC's old rerun slogan, "If you haven't played it, it's new to you." Heck, if you collect games, you may not even realize you have a new favorite just collecting dust somewhere. Thanks for the friendly reminder to return to the bygone eras of gaming from time to time!
I could be wrong. But with all of these layoffs I think AAA games are gonna start releasing at a much slower clip in the near future. Soon we won't have much of a choice but to go back and play older stuff. I'm also loving going back to play these old game and unlock characters just by playing instead of having to buy em. It's so refreshing lol. Thanks for watching!
Modern publishers hate retro games because there are no micro-transactions. Of course if they can get you on a paid subscription and turn them into "Games as a Service" that's a different story.
The subscription thing is definitely 50/50. But for me im willing to pay for convenience so I put up with it. I do try to find physicals though if possible. These digital services can't be trusted lol. Thanks for watching!
Warm snow is usually yellow in color from what I understand.
Luckily this isn't that. though considering what this snow did it's not much better lol.
Life comes at you fast
Extremely smh lol
Nice list! I saw some stuff I hadn't known before that I'm interested to try out. I haven't seen your channel before today, so I'm not sure what you've covered. But I've collected a lot of really neat and some obscure games on Switch over the years that perhaps could be considered gems. Here are some of those I've picked up: #funtime Baba Is You Butcher Carrion Catquest I&II Catherine: Full Body Celeste Cloudpunk Coffee Crisis Coffee Talk Cosmic Star Heroine Cyber Protocol/CP Prologue Drawngeon Dusk/Dusk 82 Dust- An Elysian Tail Ellen Fury Unleashed Galak-Z: Variant S Ghost 1.0 Gravity Rider Zero Green Hell Hard West Hollow/Hollow 2 Inside Kholat KORG Gadget Late Shift Limbo LOVE Mad Bullets Moon Raider Morbid: The Seven Acolytes Morphite Neon Drive Nirvana Pilot Yume One Night Stand One Night Burlesque Only Way Up Perception Project Warlock RICO Riot: Civil Unrest Road Redemption She Sees Red She Wants Me Dead Sky Rogue Sniper Superhot Syndrome The Bridge The Complex The Oregon Trail remake The Four Kings Casino The Park The Way Remastered This War Of Mine Thumper Yoku's Island Express Some of those may not be seen as gems by others, some of them seemed to be somewhat popular titles, at one point. Anyway, I'd never heard of most of them until I found them, but for the most part really enjoyed the majority of these titles.
Dust An Elysian Tale is a real gem. I didn't even know it was on the Switch for the longest time until I saw it on the Eshop. I originally played it on PS4. Would love to see that game get a sequel or something. Thanks for watching!
My dude said," They didn't take their Tussin..." had me dead laughing! I'm subscribing just for that 😂
One dose of tussin would have solved the game in 5 minutes lol. Thanks for the sub!
Loving your hidden gems series.. thanks. Incidentally
Thanks for watching! Many more to come.
Even relatively small stuff like the addition of sprint and sprint boons add such a fun layer to combat
Agreed. The sprint has me using Poseidon way more than I did in the first game.
Loving these lesser knwn titles..(to me at least) thanks
No problem. This is what I'm here for. Thanks for watching!
Really pleased to find this in my recommended.. great video.. with some unfamiliar subjects.. thanks.
even though I had all the hidden gems listed except 'Afterthought' your list is still fully legitimate. I like to think that I have nose for sniffing out gems too. I don't always succeed, but at least I know I'm on the same wavelength as other hidden gem hunters.
We all gotta help each other find the gems because that E shop can be a beast to navigate through lol. I took a chance on Afterthought purely based on how it looked and luckily I actually liked it. Thanks for watching!
Let it be known that on this day 5/13/2024 I put Chronos in a body bag.
Umbral Flames go crazy! I got the timing for a constant glow of attacks, specials, casts. It looks wild
I just did a run. Umbral Flames are officially GOATED now lol.
I think the argent skull has huge potential too, it takes getting used to but when you get it to work its great. 1 run I got +2 skull capacity, and a boon that made them return to me automatically and at mid-close range it would get back to me before I could get to 0 so I got to spam it, then I got the volcanic strike with a cooldown of like 3 seconds or something really short
Sounds like I just need to give the Skull another go. An automatic return boon would be clutch, especially considering how strong that weapon can be.
@@CerealSensei410 that's exactly what I want. I do not have the patience to chase them skulls in larger rooms lolololol
@@ChillDrinks I tried it yesterday and what i started doing was shooting and then immediately using the special move to dash over and pick it back up. It kinda sorta worked out lol
Warm snow needs a psychical version
Agreed, hopefully it gets one
If you like Pato Box you should check out Thunder Ray🥊
I've got it on my wishlist. Just gotta pull the trigger on it lol.
Warm snow has been on my wish list. so I may just have to grab it now.
It would definitely be a good time to grab Warm Snow. It's on sale for $11.99 until the 15th. Thanks for watching!
Fight N Rage looks fun. ill be checking it out
It's definitely worth it. Some of the best beat em up fun you can have. Thanks for watching the videos!
SCAT! Hahahaahah
😂😂😂
Is that the finals?
It says on the description, It's Mirrors Edge
Mirror's Edge on PS3
Best Mad World clip on yt
I would hope nobody else was getting slapped around like this lmao. Thanks for watching!
@@CerealSensei410 you got absolutely violated bro. You ever play the second game called Max Anarchy? Its not as bloody though :(
@@HappyAntenna-TheBlackerBaron Funny you mention it. I just started playing that for the first time last week. I'm only about 2 hours in but I'm having fun so far.
@@CerealSensei410 hell yeah. You making videos on it?
@@HappyAntenna-TheBlackerBaron Maybe not a full blown solo review. But I plan on doing another PS3 hidden gems video at some point so it'll for sure get a mention.
This came out super dope
Thanks Mel! I'm trying to get like yall, gotta step my production game up.
My bad had me dying 🤣🤣
"and a podcast that's not about relationships" 😂 i love it. keep up the great work.
Thanks man! I had to throw that disclaimer in there lmao.
You won a subscriber buddy😄👍
Thanks for the sub!
with a game like They Always Run if, you own it, but uninstalled it waiting for fixes how can you tell the version of the game without downloading and installing it?
I'm not sure if you can tell what version it is before you download it. But I know with They Always Run the main bug was the one that broke the game. But that got fixed not too long after it released.
I gotta remember to check out Gravity Circuit and Inmost. I love these type of videos to find games I completely missed
The Gravity Circuit gospel must be spread. Both are really good choices. You can probably finish Inmost in one sitting. Now Gravity Circuit....gonna have to work for that one lol. Thanks for watching!
@CerealSensei410 looks like I'm finding out about Gravity Circuit at the perfect time too, because the physical release is in two weeks
Glad you said something because I didn't know lol. Hopefully they don't sell out too fast.
Promo sm
I don't think most of these games are for me, but the video was high quality enough that I'm obliged to leave a comment for the algorithm
You are a saint. Thanks for watching!
Gravity circuit is so good man, happy to see this on the list
Yessir. Of the Mega Man like games I've played this is probably my favorite one. I still need to check out 20XX and Berserk Boy too
Great list of games and great video. Really been enjoying your channel bro!
Ayyye love to hear it. Doing the best I can over here. Thanks for watching!
The Boss monsters look cool. That giant green demon boss looks like something from Doom.
Yeah most of the bosses in this were done pretty well. There was only one I didn't like but it was more so a skill issue on my part lol. Thanks for watching!
What is the music in the background?
If i remember right it was just the music from the game
Another example of why I used this cd as a coaster
1000 percent understandable lol
Im Xbox owner 😢😢😢
Ouch. If you have a laptop/PC that can handle it steam would probably be your best option. I don't imagine that it would take up much space.
