Whereas I repair and restore old tube type record players, I plan to add more record player videos in the future. I may also have other videos, like the washing machine, you'll never know what I might upload. Anyway, enjoy what I have for now.
Maytag
With most top load washers having just a wash "plate" that's gentle on clothes, this machine still has the old fashion "agitator" with sizable wash "blades" that isn't so gentle. The result? It cleans muddy, greasy, grimy jeans and does a great job at it even with a really full load. Whereas wash plates wiggle the clothes somewhat and spend an hour or more being gentle, this Maytag is done in 35 minutes flat, including the fill time with a full load, rolling the clothes so they all get to be beaten by the agitator blades. Great machine.

Cordoba 1976
zhlédnutí 23KPřed 9 lety
I had a 1987 Mercedes 560SEL that still needed a whole lot of work to restore. Then I saw this car for sale on a dealer's lot. I managed to dump the Mercedes in a trade for it. Great deal, I love this Cordoba. It was stored since about 1988. Everything was still original, including the polysteel radial spare tire. Other than the AC, which needs charging, everything works, including the cruise c...
Mid 50's Capitol 732
zhlédnutí 470Před 11 lety
This is a mid 1950's Capitol model 732 record player. It uses a VM record changer, which was common then. I bought this player at a flea market in NH a few years back for about $25. It was so dirty, I didn't really know what condition it was in. To my surprise, the covering, which I believe is leather, has no rips or blemishes. It's in pretty nice shape overall. Just the usual recapping and cha...
Homemade Player "Adele"

Here's another video of my homemade record player. The song is from the Adele 21 album. My new camera just doesn't record the sound quality my old one had. I even bought the optional mic for it, which made it better, but still lacking in the bass department. I wish I kept my old one just for this.
1962 Wurlitzer 2600 "Mr. Blue"
zhlédnutí 3,2KPřed 11 lety
This is a 1962 Wurlitzer model 2600 jukebox. I got it at an auction. No one played it at the auction, so I bought it with unknown playing condition. It needed filter caps badly, a new cartridge because the pick up rubber had decomposed on the old one, a set of casters, adjustments because it wouldn't clip onto the record, lubrication, and a good cleaning, including steel wooling all the chrome....
Ride in MGB.MP4

I thought that maybe I should post a video of my 1963 MGB, so I washed it and made this one. I bought this car in August 2010 restored as you see it here. I use it quite a bit spring, summer, and fall when the roads are dry with no threat of rain because the roof is off. I bought a hard top for it last fall, which makes it nicer for winter use. Again, if the roads are dry in winter and it's not...

Here's what's inside my homemade record player. I didn't make the components in this one, just gathered them from various places and assembled them. I made several changes, especially with speakers, until I got the sound I wanted. Also, I wanted to keep the weight down because this is a portable, after all. I have the Collaro tracking at 2 grams using the Shure M75E magnetic cartridge.

1912 Easy Washing Machine
zhlédnutí 507KPřed 12 lety
I bought this Easy Washing Machine at an auction. It was patented in 1912, but could've been made for several years after that. Everything works as it should. It even has a gas water heater to keep the water warm.
Home made record player

I built this record player from collected parts.. The case was a school house player that I recovered in snake skin pattern vinyl. The 6V6 push pull amp is out of a late 1940's console. It's a flat designed amp with the tubes mounted on one end. That allowed it to be installed under the changer. My favorite record changer is a Collaro, so I installed one in this unit. The cartridge is a Shure m...
I just noticed one similar on my local FB market, for $450. “Twin tub” easy washer. One tub like this shown here, and another to spin dry, before going on the clothes line.
It was invented at the year that titanic sank!
looks better than nowdays with a wifi connected washing machine i dont even understand the display of
For Heavens sake. Add some clothing so we can do our evaluation of it's washing performance.
You are a lucky man
This is really awesome. I swear they should go back to the design of the middle.
It’s actually a 2610
We can't even buy this type anymore.sickening
Our new $1,000 washer broke after one year..
I just want the ringer. But now cost $200
Got to get me some soft Corinthian Leather.
My friend had one I loved it. That is in amazing shape for 100 thousand miles wow. It's missing a button oh no I will take it off your hands it's damaged goods now. 🤣😂
How neat is this?! I love it 😍
Best washer ever 💎
I also have an identical machine. It appears that you may have upgraded the motor - If So - What did you use? I don't know how to contact you?
These are one of the best washing machines ever made. In fact they are a whole lot better than today's HE washers.
this machines over 100 year old, meanwhile samsung cant last 5 months.
I have a 1976 cordoba in near mint condition. The only issue is when the gas pedal floord it chokes, im thinking it needs the carborator rebuilt. What do you think? Can send me ghe model number of the car carborator you puurchased .
I have the original carb on mine and it's never been rebuilt. I did put an Edelbrock on it, but it came off fairly quickly, not as good as expected. Mine will leak down into the engine when the engine is turned off after it's fully warmed up. Otherwise, it's fine as is. If you have the original carb, there's another mixture adjustment screw right in the middle. look down in the middle and you'll see it. I believe it adjusts the misuse throughout the full throttle range, not just idling. Play with that and see if it helps at all.
I own one except its got a lot more corrosion especially since its copper and when i got it i didnt even thought it would work but after putting some oil to all the parts that i could see that had movement it worked great and with a saturday of work on it its a great piece to start a conversation after all it is almost 110 years old.
Washing clothes were not an easy task in the past, it was a hard duty for mothers, I remember my mother sitting in the snow and mixing some hot water and soap in the laundry basin and washing them by hand then cleaning them with very cold water! every week, her hand was injured
The true pronunciation is CORdoba. The emphasis on the COR.
This does not have the ticking sound that the 1961 model has The Carriage is rotating
Pretty cool
Mom bought a used 76 this same color & pinstripe in either 83 or 84, when her 69 Chevy got too rusty to be safe. Her's had a 2bbl 360, non lean burn, and those rims with the molded rubber centers. The rear diff howled in that car, it would put me to sleep riding in the back as a little kid haha. Would love to find a clean Cordoba some day 🥰. Awesome car man, take car of it!
I know this is a long shot, but do you know where I can find replacement needles for this? My needle that plays the top songs went out
If your jukebox hasn't been converted to using a different cartridge, then you have to buy a cartridge, not just the needle. It's called a Cobra Cartridge, which was a Zenith invention. I haven't bought one in years, but I do believe there is someone or company making replacements in Europe somewhere. They aren't cheap. You could convert your jukebox to use a different , much cheaper cartridge, but that requires a little modification to your amplifier. Personally, I would buy a new Cobra. I believe it has a superior sound quality due to the type of signal it sends. Anyway, the needle isn't replaceable, the whole cartridge has to be replaced. Search for "Zenith Cobra Cartridge" or just "Cobra Cartridge". There should be some somewhere. One more thing; originally, the green cartridge had a .1 mil needle for 45's and/or 33 1/3's. The red cartridge had a .3 mil needle for 78's. They also made a half red and half green cartridge that had a .2 mil needle for the rare machine that could play 78's and 45's intermixed. If you're playing 45's, and I assume you are, be sure to get the .1 mil. regardless of what color they make these days. The cartridge simply pulls out and the new one pushes in.
Electronic controller washing machine and planetary gearbox. Now how durable can it be with the old transmission twist derailleur maytags.
I guess that's the tricky cycle. LOL I thought I had seen it all.
Had that same year 76 Valore interer"" missfired when it was wet outside that was the only thing wrong with those cars bad electrical distributer wires need to spay them with silcone" it was dark blue white landow roof" nice highway car"" 👍
The first thing I did when I bought this car was to bypass the lean burn computer and put in a vacuum advance distributor. The car has been running good ever since. It now has only 108,000 miles on it. It's been in rain with no issues at all.
It looks like something from Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory.
I had a '77. Reliable but rusty. 400 and lean burn
Saw one on American Restoration and decided to see how one actually worked. Pretty cool device. Thanks for posting!
Just bought one red white half vinyl roof and white interior 400c I 4brl same pin stripe
it is actually more effective than tumble or spin wash.
Washers on the titanic be like:
Interested in selling it?
Make me an offer. You could possibly own it.
Great car I had one just like it better than a new one

Thanks for this video very helpful!
A Bouncing Washing Machine!
😳😧 wow!
Same as old sewing machines 159yrs old work perfect
Money was worth more so things were built accordingly
wow that mercedes ya had mustve had a big V8 !! in it !
I remember while there were washers, people still had to use clips to hang their clothes dry. Ideal for sunny days but not when it’s raining.
wow thats amazing how the owner had this beautifull car look ORIGINAL ! (*sigh* my nana was the owner of a cordoba haha her's was maroon she let ME drve it ! i always washed her car (voluntarily with no $) when i went to viisit her
Cordobahhhh!
No me puedo imaginar cuanto le cuesta de combustible al gringo de esta belleza, cordoba.
Ricardo Montalban estaria feliz manejando.
During the period of this machine, people were shocked by the sinking of an unsinkable ship.
Ricardo montalban,s ghost is haunting that car.
