This video has hit me hard, my 3 litre N52 is causing me the same issues right now too. I've had the spark plugs, coil packs, valve cover, timing chain kit, filters on VANOS and the inlet camshaft gear already replaced. I've got some Pierburg solenoids to fit first and if not, the exhaust outlet camshaft to then be fitted. I pray the Pierburg VANOS solenoids come through otherwise I'll have to get my car examined at Zed Shed too. 😢
Examine your check valves too, they are probably clogged up with dirt and oil. They can be cleaned but I just replaced them instead.
@@mrnicktoyouIt was the VANOS solenoids, filters were replaced on the originals and that made no difference. Fitted Pierburgs and it runs beautifully. I think I have a slight exhaust leak but it sounds so so good 😂
@@faisalm7285 I replaced the vanos solenoids on my car and it fixed my rough running issue too. But, im just saying, my check valves were really clogged up too.
Wow, I wasn't sure this would have the happy ending it did, but great news. I think it does highlight that in the future we will be driving EVs with no engine issues to be had, the on board computer will manage the driving experience so people can have fun, and hopefully less room for faults

mike any chance of a copy/link to the timing tool instructions, i have to rebuild my 330, stewart skimming head for me when i strip it and im after someone to replace the heater matrix as im not in mood for pulling the dash out , its 330 convertible 2008 n53 ,
It's really straight forward mate, once you've got it you'll understand, but the zed shed is where you want to go if you don't fancy it

He is top lad! And very knowledgeable! The dash is fairly easy to remove on the bmws, we had ours in and out in a day on our m4 build
