    I wonder how much difference it makes with all the weight on the vehicle instead of just putting the bolt in? I imagine if multiple companies are using the same design they are doing it for a reason?

    • @swatscorner
      @swatscorner Před 2 dny

      I don’t know, but just a little bit of wallow on the track bar bolt gave me death wobble. So I wanted it to fit perfectly. My mechanic said 2mm or less is acceptable if I remember correctly.

    Thanks for the video. I need to do this for my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel on cylinder #2. My part is a little different but your process looks like what I need to do. My question is, is the soldering part mandatory and if so do you recommend a specific iron. Thanks in advance

    • @swatscorner
      @swatscorner Před 7 dny

      I’m certainly no expert. I don’t think the soldering iron matters as much as the solder. Whatever I used wasn’t exactly right. I don’t think you have to solder. Just makes it stronger.

    • @swatscorner
      @swatscorner Před 25 dny

      It sits higher. For me, not too high. But if I were taller, it likely would be. It’s not so much the seat is higher than the front part of the seat. It’s higher. The part where your rear sits is probably not higher.

    Also, I don’t have fogs installed, would it make sense for me to do the harness upgrade then install new fog lights since the new harness has wiring for fog lights? I’ll have to get fog lights AND the switch panel from a picknpull, but would that be my best order of operations?

    • @swatscorner
      @swatscorner Před měsícem

      Install the new oem fog light harness and then install the cable upgrade.

  • @DjRapnytech
    @DjRapnytech Před měsícem

    Do you need to keep the old harness/plug old harness into new harness? Why not just out with the old, in with the new?

    • @swatscorner
      @swatscorner Před měsícem

      The upgrade works with your existing harness. It’s not a replacement. You still need the old harness to connect to the switch and to the turn signals and marker lights etc. So you have to have both

  • @DjRapnytech
    @DjRapnytech Před měsícem

      I was hoping it would help with the headlights some (which it didn’t). But I feel like it’s starting and running better with it. If you have no real issue, there is no need to do it. As you can see on mine, everything’s just a little old and tired, so replacing 27 year old parts with 337k miles is worth doing for the most part.

    Hey Swat! I am doing the same move on my 1996 jeep 2dr sport. I found wire harness from a similar year at the JY. I tested all the lights on my rig. I also installed the switch. I also have the relays. Now the turn signals, side markers and headlights work with the JY harness, but when I used a circuit tester on the fog light wires, no signal. I have not acquired the fog lights yet. also the Fog light switch doesn't illuminate, I did put led bulbs in there. Are there fuses that need to be placed in the PDM under the hood or the under the dash to complete addition?

      I had never seen his video, so just checked it out! Man, that’s way above my level. I think what you’re doing with the radios is great. You really need to get in touch with Jeremey - the guy who sold the kit in my video. He’s an expert on these radios, but I understand he had “retired” or severely cut back due to health concerns. Maybe you could pick up the slack. If so, keep me posted! I’ve got 3 or 4 radios for the 96 (sold one of my two 1996s, but had extra radios just in case and for parts and so as not to molest the original radio with the Bluetooth set up). All the best!! Great video. I struggled with the white molex connector for a while, watched 4 other videos to find a better way. Use channel-locks or vise grips to apply gentle pressure to the center of the molex connector. Too much pressure can deform the plastic. Make sure not to press on the female side of the connector. If you are in the right spot gentle pressure will remove the connector. I was at this for almost an hour then once I found this method it was out really simply.
