Honestly my biggest problem with TM 3 and 4 are just the characters (and I mean the character characters, not the vehicles) and the endings they get in the games. I don’t think anyone disagree that most/a lot of the characters and there endings in both games are hot garbage. I mean drag queen, meter maid, Carl and Jamie roberts (outlaws drivers), sweet tooth, axel, and so on. I mean I don’t mind a few silly/goofy endings in twisted metal, variety is more often then not a good thing, but man they just went overboard in the games man.

I think this game has better controls than most of the Twisted Metal games on PS1 it's actually pretty solid I never heard of it I got it in like 2020 and it's really fun but it might be the hardest car combat game ever made

Some of the endings are straight up nightmare fuel, the Soviet Die-Hards ending stuck with me after all these years on how traumatising it was for me after my older brother finished the game and i watched.

I legit bought a factory sealed copy of this game for my birthday, best game ever apart from twisted metal in my books.

This game had the potential. I think the game died as soon as they removed Gridfall. That mode was genuinely a LOT of fun. Ever since they removed it, I had issues finding matches and enjoying the game overall. Sad.

Wanna hear something fun? There are ZERO speedruns of this game. None I can find, anyway. I don't really know how official speedrunning works, but as far as I can tell, anyone could record themselves playing it to completion, post it, and then claim the world record. And it wouldn't matter how long it takes to finish the game or how badly you play, either. I just find that really funny. The bar is so low it's nonexistant, lol. Might make a fun gimmick if you ever feel like livestreaming this game, too. But as someone who played a lot of this as a kid, I can tell you to definitely look up a PDF of the instruction manual. Given the era Critical Depth is from, there is a LOT the game itself won't tell you ( like how to do the energy attacks, or Power Attacks as it calls them) because it assumes you read it.

So incredibly happy to see not only you, but the community as a whole give back to Pedro. He is the guy that makes these games "just like we remember them being" and so so much more

In a way, Head-On is what they should have made, instead of completely changing the tone and washing out the fun color with Black, IMO. They kept what was good about TM2, but updated the graphics, and fixed the awful physics and cheating AI. That said, I see what you mean about it being bland; perhaps they fixed the physics *too well* and the perfect control extinguishes the sense of danger? I hate the minigames more than you do. They _are_ forced on you, if you want to unlock all the characters, which of course you do. They were frustrating, not fun in the slightest, and have nothing to do with car combat. They felt tacked on because they didn't think the actual game was enough. The only saving grace was that once I beat them all, I never had to deal with them again. The only take here I don't get is about the difficulty. If you think the game is too easy, you can play with ATV; I'm pretty sure that's why they included such an underpowered vehicle in the first place. Also, Tower Tooth is easy. He's so huge that you can pick him apart from across the map long before the health pickups regenerate, and if you do mess up and get hit, it doesn't even do that much damage. If anything, they should have made Dark Tooth and Tower Tooth's weapons more devastating, so it felt like there were actual stakes if you got careless.

I would love to see Sweet Tooth, Mr Slam, Shadow played like this :)

I noticed the AI in Twisted Metal lost are way brain dead I can totally see How bored you felt And you start to talk some Random stuff just to make this game to end God this game is so fucking boring I'm so glad you played TM4 Pedro's mod What's again just to have fun I'm so happy for you brother
