that desktop wallpaper though 🖥️ 🔥 🏝️
That's how I first played it. Pentium 4 3 ghz, barely working GPU for me .. The results were the same. Also had the "downgrade" mod that reduced details even more
This is so weird. Well played.
This brings back so many memories of trying to make oblivion run on my shitty computer. Liked!
That stuttering during the opening Bethesda splash screen reminded me of something I had forgotten for years and years -- when I was little I got one of the first rounds of the Xbox 360 for Christmas, which had awful Red Ring of Death crashes. I only had Oblivion (and I really only wanted to play Oblivion because I loved Morrowind so much). I would restart the console every time it crashed and just hope it got through the opening screens so I could get into the game and play for a little bit before it crashed again. Just hearing the stuttering during the Bethesda sound brought those memories rushing back. Thanks for uploading this lol
Currently replaying Oblivion on my Series X. As a guy that played the hell out of the broken ass ps3 version back in the day(which barely ran better than this) Im really loving the 4k 60 and almost instant load times.
For context: I normally show the PC specs and launch the game, but I had connection issues with the server after many attempts I was able to get in and sorry for the bad picture the game is running in 800x600
This is how I remember playing the game when it came out.
Even modded morrowind on my phone looks better. 😂🤣
lay back in this frozen-aired room
Hilarious. PC isn't even powerful enough to run a recording software. Dude legit had to probably use a VGA capture card to get this footage. You can tell it was analogue signal converted to digital. Absolutely nostalgic af. I wouldn't be able to even tell that this wasn't made in 2005 if the upload date wasn't there. I used to play Morrowind on an old Compaq Presario 2200 that I had. It was a great little machine for what it was. I could watch anime, CZcams, play Morrowind and use Limewire/iTunes and move games to my PSP with it. It was perfect.
You're correct. I used a Game Capture HD and used a VGA to HDMI to cable :)
I read this as 256 GIG of Ram lol
Wish I had 512 of RAM, but this machine only supports 256mb
I'm watching your channel for old but good games, and also for tests in low end machines
i wish that island could be your vacation location with some anime girl beach episode
I remember trying to run Oblivion on my PC without a powerful enough graphics card, and I had to disable almost all shaders. Dark areas of the game were bright as day. But I played it anyway because it was so much fun.
I remember playing this on my dad's old laptop back in the day. Most of the textures wouldn't even load but I somehow soldiered through a fair bit of the game with everything looking like it was covered in grey paint.
I recall last year running into, I swear, a DirectX 7 or DirectX 8 tweak for this game. I don't know the name, or where I got it aside from it being on the Nexus. But there are a few other mods you could try to to potato it even more to help you out.
Well I don't think I'll ever play the game again on this rig. This was just a one time thing for fun. I know mods would have helped, but I thought it would be more fun just to play the game as is.
on my grandma's laptop, which definitely felt like it has similar specs, I was playing Skyrim while sitting shotgun in her semi truck, and I managed to shoot a fox dead in the eye. it was so far away I couldn't tell what it was. but the arrow was like dead on; none of the arrow was close to the sclera lol
For the first time, I played the game with approximately the same computer configuration. Thanks for the memories! But my main memory was the crash when I went out into the open world. After a certain amount of time, I manually changed the .ini file, so that I finally got out of the starting sewers. Turning off the water helped, from that moment on there was a game without invisible water. Rarely, instead of water there was a magenta plane...
Framerate hasn't changed much in Bethesdas games.
The experience of trying to play video games on your father's work laptop.
The load screens are that long so you can actually read all the tips and descriptions. 😂
a nice smooth 11 fps
You have a luxury of running a 8400GS, I played it on P4 1.8G 256M and ti4200 at the launch with shaders disabled completely....
But still a fun experience. yes?
@@WinXP_SP1 Are you familiar with the rainbow tint that is added, once you disable the shaders? Never took a slight notice on it, but luckily at ~middle of playthrough I bought 9600 SE from my classmate and enjoyed correct colors in 800x600... The time I thought the progress is only limited by your pockets....
I wish games on PC had this level of graphical scale today, where you can turn it into a mud painting.
Bro, share your wallpaper XD

Masked Dedede Battle - Kirby Super Star
The dancing with the mouse while waiting for the game to load is the realest shit
There was a mod called "oldblivion" which let you play it on computers with no specs at all.
I am aware of the mods, but I wanted to see the results of just simply adding a GPU to an older machine.
Sorry for the audio ringing. The audio is captured through RCA. I generally fix it while in Vegas pro, but I guess I missed it here.
the first time i played Oblivion was in jr high on my crappy family computer i had no money so i pirated the game and ran exactly like this
Bro why use SP1 😢 whats wrong with SP3 lol
I will upgrade when the time is right.
wtf you can fullscreen ! ? My PC had a Pentium, I had to play the game on lowest res, windowed as smallest possible. Kinda looked like daggerfall but I had my 15-17 fps, finished the game like this ! Good memories
This was running in a window 800x600 I just zoomed in with Vegas Pro. And this was done on a monitor has like 1980 something resolution.
This is an exact replica of how I played this game for like 5 years
Nice, I used the 8400GS inside an eMachine I owned (first PC) because the integrated wasn't much at all - I threw in an extra 1gb stick of ram. Celeron D / 1.5gb ram / 8400GS All I could play was CS:S, GTA:SA, and Left 4 Dead in its last days before I finally got a newer PC made for gaming. My version of L4D looked a lot like the graphics quality in this video! DX6 or some crap lol
This reminds me of the days when I used to run crysis on our old low end laptop with an intel core duo and a geforce g105m graphics card. The game would struggle to run at the very low settings with a 800x600 resolution screen with a 30 fps max and a loud fan. :)
For those of us who play on potato PCs this is the norm. Which makes this video even worse because I can relate to the long loading screens and low frame rates.
can it run doom?
czcams.com/video/wF0qa455jgU/video.htmlsi=Hypu3YCHNKiMYRNV&t=134 Yes. The machine you see running Counter-Strike is the one showed in this video.
new levels of potato pc
damn bro that PC needs to be in a museum
mfs in 2006: THIS IS GROUNDBREAKING, SO LIFELIKE I CAN BARELY TELL THE DIFFERENCE
I remember using this no-shadows mod on my Pentium E5200 PC without gpu! I would love to go back to Oblivion but its too old though. Can't wait for Skyblivion
Too old? Doesn't mean you can't enjoy the game. Don't need a mod to enjoy Oblivion.
@@WinXP_SP1 I actually love old games, but Oblivion AI is too dumb, and the animations are extremely robotic. I could play Gothic, Deus Ex, and another stuff. But Oblivion, for those reasons, is just broken to me.
how are you recording it? at what resolution? you should record it with different computer to make it fair
I used a game capture device and recorded the feed on my main rig I had the game running in windowed mode and I just zoomed into it the window with Vegas pro
And my capture device only cant capture lower resolutions. It doesn't support it. I basically had to play this game then I had to play the game with the resolution of 800 by 600 window.
@@WinXP_SP1 I see... so you can record only in 1080p?
@@WinXP_SP1 overall gpu is capable to play this game at righer settings but I guess ram is an issue.... still that gane run at x360 with 512mb of ram and vram combined ;)
@@r4zi3lgintoro65 The computer is a HP pavilion from 2000. It had Windows ME on it and 256MB is the max the board will take. I tried 512mb, but it didn't work. I had to use a PCI GPU with HDMI just to capture the feed. I know the GPU is able to do a lot more, but the goal here is to see a game run little RAM and a weak CPU. The Xbox 360 is 6 years newer than this PC and had faster everything ;)
That's kinda how I played Oblivion for the first time, then I got lucky enough to get a Xbox 360 😂
you my friend, have gone the distance. great job on the video.
this rig makes the game look unfinished. you're gonna have a lot of work cut out for you if end up beating the game like this.
czcams.com/video/nrmH8uhzMa4/video.html I did beat the game like this :)
Nope, I'm packing my bags and going back to Morrowind. Maybe even Daggerfall...
this is pretty impressive tbh
This is how Skyrim was meant to be played
