10 inch Aluminium Explosion Proof Pendant Light

edisonlightglobes.com/120V/product/complete-fittings/cage-pendants/10-inch-aluminum-explosion-proof-pendant-light/
10 inch Aluminium Explosion Proof Pendant Light with polished cast aluminium body. The cage on this light is so large it can take our larger globes. Installation to the ceiling is via a cast ceiling rose. An eyelet top is used for chain hung installation. This original vintage industrial style pendant consists of a brass cage with a glass spray proof containment bowl.
The light can be used with or without the glass bell shade. These industrial lights were originally IP rated but now require careful attention to make water tight when installing.
The cast aluminium has patina that comes from years in use. They are original pieces which have been rewired with our standard ES lamp holders. Perfect for your home or business to add an industrial touch. It is pictured with our new C110 vintage filament style LED which is a traditional industrial shape. Please note, due to their vintage nature, there may be very differences in each fitting (cages are now mostly chrome but casting blemishes or small marks may be evident in aluminium components).
Pendant drop
This industrial light is made to your custom length in plumbing pipe or chain drop style. This fitting is around 520mm long. When ordering you will need to select a drop length to make the total length from ceiling. For example (drop length cm) + 520mm = pendant total drop. Attaches to the ceiling with our aluminium cast ceiling rose in either pipe mount or hook.
The lamp holder has an integral earth terminal and supplies an earth to the pendant.
Globes are not included, recommended globes are listed with the product data.
Replacement glass components available also if required
10 inch Aluminium Explosion Proof Pendant Light can be ordered as E26 110V for US or Canada, (choose globes separately from our 120 volt globes list).

😂 I use a 1/2" npt to 1/8" not bushing, and the socket attaches directly to it, not to mention it looks like the rest of the lamp unlike this adapter does, and is available in the same place as the rest of those plumbing parts 😂, nice try though lol
What is that part?
@@EdisonLightGlobes it's a brass bushing, it's usually right where the air fittings are, ace hardware has them in iron and brass, galvanized too, no need to buy an adapter, it already exists
Those "tortoise turtle" lights are absolutely amazing!!! I don't see those on the website for sale though... are they available?
We do have some left. Link in the description.
Outstanding work! So beautiful!
Very nice!! Do you have a materials list and materials supplier?
We do list all of the components we have on our website but it may be you need to make up a design first. These are pretty random.
@EdisonLightGlobes Ok, thank you!! I was mostly interested on a supplier for those light sockets.
@@tubalcain1 Yep we certainly stock sockets.
Hey Phil, I have a question for you. I have light fittings similar to those in the video. They consists of a threaded brass cage covering a glass shade which contains the bulb. I live in a beachside suburb and the salt air/weather has caused sufficient corrosion that I now can’t unscrew the cage to replace bulbs. Because the threaded part hangs down I have had difficulty getting any oil to penetrate the thread. Any suggestions? Heat, maybe?
Yes heat may be the best approach
Should be trimming the excess cloth cover.
At times we do but you need to use a super glue to isolate the part you are removing. Needs a longer video to show how to do that.
how much would this cost sent to US
This will depend on your full address. It is a quote that the website can supply once you add to cart and include shipping address.
Half inch bsp to half inch light bulb thread. So sorry in confused. Half inch bsp to 10 mm thread ? Thanks for the great videos. Please explain again. Where to get this adaptor. CHeers Frank

I’m in the uk can I get any beaded cable and uk socket then ?
Braided cable is available via our website, we also keep some UK plugs here. All should be available in the UK also.
Thanks thats helpful. The one i,m working on looks exactly the same except there is an extra screw at the bottom of the inside of the l cap where the cable comes in which im not sure what is for, do you know what this might be?
That sounds like the earth
Thank you so much guys. I just asked a supplier to send me a replacement because I thought my lampholder was broken because I couldn't unscrew it. Turns out all I needed to do was ease off the rachet pin. Now I have two lampholders!! I will have to fess up to my suplier. We obviously are backward in England 😂
Ha, that is a common issue even with experienced electricians.
Great video. What type of spray paint are you using which binds to the galvanized paint so well?
We clean and sometimes sand blast then use an Automotive subframe etch primer in black
More power to ya, brother! Good stuff.

Looks great mate. I love the vintage look.
Finally, someone EARTHING metal components in lamps correctly!
Hi , look amazing,, just a side note,, isn't that 1/4 inch UK compression joints?
Which part are you referring to?
I've bought an Artemide Dalu lamp which is supposed to take an E14 SES bulb (says so in the booklet that came with it -- and also on the side of the bulb holder. However, it has proved impossible to screw an E14 bulb into the holder -- as it appears that the bulb screw is slightly larger than the holder thread. Any ideas? Thanks! :0)
What country are you in? SES is E12 in North America and E14 the rest of the world. You may be trying to screw an E12 bulb into an E14 lamp holder.
@@EdisonLightGlobes Thanks for replying! I'm in the UK and trying to screw an E14 SES bulb into an E14 SES bulb holder -- but it just doesn't even begin to screw in. Will have to get the bulb holder swapped out. :0)
I would like to know if loctite is conductive?
Good question. As a rule we use just a little on one side of the thread but even though it spreads we test conductivity and it seems to allow contact for metal surfaces without impeding conductivity.
Thank you very much!! I've had no idea what to do with this ceramic thing, but now it's fine!
Thanks for that, SO AS LONG as the brass lamp secure is through the wire before i pass it through the lamp a d get the earth right as it is fused, Now Worries moite. Thanks Jannie Blew!
Very nice I am pleased to see you are using an earth wire I have seen some videos with no earth, and it is very dangerous, the light looks good a nice design cheers Bob in the UK
Thanks Bob, we do our best to encourage DIY best practice.
Great job! Well done! If it's not a secret, in what program did you make the drawing?

Was wondering if you could provide the info regarding the part that goes from the pipe into the socket. I can't find information anywhere on these sizes and the fact you got it threaded in there without glue or pressure fit is exactly what I want to achieve. Amazing videos BTW new sub here.
It will depend on the nipple size for your socket but it may be one of these. Perhaps the 10mm version. edisonlightglobes.com/Shop/shop/hardware/couplings/plumbing-pipe-light-fitting-coupler-10mm/ edisonlightglobes.com/Shop/shop/hardware/couplings/plumbing-pipe-light-fitting-coupler-half-inch/

Beautiful! Just moved into a new home, and I was gifted about three years ago with a box of pipes from a table so I dismantled the pipes and save them. I wish I could’ve kept the word, however, wanted to do something with the pipes and make some sort of art work, but this is pretty cool, so thank you so much for sharing.
thanks...greetings from slovakia

I got a question for you or anyone out there feel free to chime in I ordered a lamp bulb holder thing off the internet and it arrived mostly in good condition I mean it's mostly plastic it wasn't broken but what I noticed is on the back of the socket it's missing the wire terminals for example previous ones I've always scene have got screws and little metal things where the wire goes in and you tighten it with screws but this one it's just a plastic socket and the back I don't know how they expect me to connect the wire I'm going to have to return it but it's just a little frustrating because the products arrived in good condition shipping no damage or cracks but it seems kind of useless to me without the wire terminals in the back I don't know how they expect me to attach it how to attach the cables to the socket I thought maybe it could just push in the wire but I don't it doesn't seem like it would be very secure I've never seen one where there's no screwed it connected screw to connect the cable
Hi, did you buy the lamp holder from us? If so we will always support the product and re ship if faulty or missing parts.
Great stuff guys. One question, how was your earth connection through the glue?
It seems that the thread lock substance works fine and we usually only need a small drop of lock tight on one parts of the thread in any event.
I'm still stripping the two wire ends and video finished!
I am not sure what you mean.
@@EdisonLightGlobes sorry, should've explained better: your video was very helpful and I succeeded in rewiring a lamp safely because of your advice BUT I was so slow that you had completely finished while I was still doing the first bit - removing the plastic casing from the ends of live and neutral
Nice!
I’ve never seen augmented reality. Very fascinating. You explained it very well.
Love the design! Would this work in copper?
Copper is a little too soft for structural lights. It could be done in brass.
Love it! I have a very similar light. I’d like to post a photo in my comment but You Tube doesn’t provide that feature.
Can you email a picture? I would love to see that. support@edisonlightglobes.com.au

I think you mean the parts that connect sockets/lamp holders to pipe? These are listed on our website, we have these machined for purpose. edisonlightglobes.com/Shop/diy-hardware/ edisonlightglobes.com/120V/diy-hardware/
Do you sell the kit to wire an antique insulator please?
Yes, which country voltage?
i have a new supension kit from bunnings but it is to long can i cut the wire to make it shorter.
It depends what is at the ceiling end. If there is a plug in thing then you would need to eliminate that and use a separate ceiling rose.
@@EdisonLightGlobes thank you getting back it is a Deta B22 Lamp Holder Suspension Kit if that helps
