could just imagine myself road raging behind this tesla lol
I use fsd myself and my only issue with this video is the amount of confidence you have in the system. You're way too confident man. I get it. There are aggressive drivers but you can't blame them when clearly the system cut them off. It was literally hesitant about switching lanes then went for it. Then like others are saying it literally blew that stop sign. You didnt even attempt to take over and even if it were clear..... Had an officer been around you would have gotten pulled over and ticketed. Paul i like your videos i really do man but you can't pretend like this system is so amazing when its making dangerous mistakes like that and you still need to take control when it does.
I keep thinking about how a system like this could run in the background on all vehicles as a safety monitor. It could be as unobtrusive as possible, to the point where most drivers were unaware of its presence, and would intervene only when a driver was about to make a serious mistake, and run a red light, change lanes into another car, hit a pedestrian or cyclist, go the wrong way on a freeway, or rear-end a stopped vehicle. In fact, I'd imagine that something like this will become mandatory in the future. Tesla might be able to sell this system to all other manufacturers. I cannot help but think of all the lives that could be saved.
What Tesla is this?
Great video! FSD will continue to improve! Thanks!
On 12.3 I went from NYC To Washington DC and back with 0 interventions and only 1 wheel nag. This was really unbelievable as I've been using FSD for a few years now and with V12 all has really changed
I'm halfway through the Tesla 30-day free trial and it's absolutely no way I will ever pay for FSD I drove 250 miles on the interstate and it worked ok except for the one time when it pulled over in front of an 18-wheeler within 10 ft but in the city no waits too long to break almost always goes beyond regenerative braking excessive acceleration sometimes will ride the center line on a two-lane road wants to make a left hand turn on a road where there is no road Google maps on my phone does not do that sometimes it will follow the car in front of it way too close in my subdivision the speed limit is 25 the car will go from 20 to 35 mph and cannot keep a consistent speed you want to yell at the car and tell it to just relax and drive
I don;'t know how you guys say Fsd is so great. I'm in NYC as well and the thing needs interventions all the time. The most common mistakes are navigation errors, where it takes the wrong exit pretty often. I've yet to see that replicated in any FSC video. Maybe it's something wrong with my car? 2021 Model 3 LR Oh...and it's supposed to be able to avoid potholes but it never does, always crashing full speed in the worst potholes of NYC. I have learned to only use it on smooth roads or highways.
best self driving software in the game hands down
FYI your highway stack is not the same as what we have in the UK or is not as limited as ours. If a car ahead is too slow, FSD does not ask to change lane to go faster.
We use FSD and it has very few interventions. One edge case we observed, was the vehicle wanted to take the toll lane, but we did not want to pay the toll, so we had to intervene to keep it in the normal lanes. One issue with the concept of having personal vehicles as robot taxis is the wear and tear by the clients and the insurance costs. I prefer to look at FSD as a great tool to help older or handicapped drivers maintain their transportation independence longer at a lower price than installing devices such as hand controls. Your vehicle is running on Hardware 3.0, thus people can buy any Tesla built in 2017 and after to get the same experience with FSD. No other automobile manufacturer keeps providing additional functionalities to existing vehicles like Tesla. Enjoy watching videos from the NYC area, which offers different challenges for FSD than California.
_NYC area, which offers different challenges for FSD than California._ FSD struggles in NYC, and Los Angeles too. And Chicago. And Toronto, Canada. Full autonomy is years away .
Here in Europe, another day is slowly starting A good video is a good start to the day. Thanks for uploading! I wish you a nice day... 🙂
A very easy drive, few turns, and not during rush hour. FSD did well.
Why is your reverse camera and side mirror cameras on while driving forward?
It did slightly bump your right mirror there at 2:40 but it surely pulled through like a champ!
I wonder if Tesla will ever get into the business of selling software as well. Imagine having the little OS they have on a more traditional car.
it's good to see this happening. Waymo is the best there is and should be the bar to hit
I’m wondering how AutoPark performs with your Tesla
In 10 yrs, we can all be riding around in autonomous driving cars.
Wow, the signal and going around the double parked car is sooooo impressive
Take off the nag in V12.4 and boom instant level 4
Thanks for making it.
How’s overall fsd experience? For my legacy mx, it is pretty rough when it stops and go. I have 2019 m3, and fsd on it is much smoother than one on Mx.
Nicely done!! wow
what are you doing when you press that button on the left side of the wheel? Curious since it is so frequent. The end of the 2nd leg, as you were making that left turn, it looks like your car hit a divider medium.
it is so the car knows that you are paying attention
i used fsd yesterday and properly pissed off a bunch of people because it drove at speed limit and stopped for a solid 3 second at stop sign
better than me

My biggest issues with FSD right now are related to navigation and just not making lane changes when it’s pretty obvious that it needs to or can/should. Also it loves to sit at 10-12 mph over the speed limit. Otherwise it’s a big improvement for smoothness and left turns in traffic.
Straight out of SciFi movies
You talk a bit about stress behind the wheel. Do you find that Supervised FSD is more or less stressful than just taking the wheel and driving yourself?
I'm not the author, but to answer your question, the consensus seems to be that using FSD is more stressful on version 11 but definitely less stressful on version 12. Most users need some time to build trust in the system, and learn where its shortcomings are so they only need to be on high alert under those unusual cases.
@@richarda3659 Thanks mate.
@@shoelessjoe428 I’ll add my experience. I let it do 95% of the driving for a 6 hour each way trip with around 35% of the driving being highway. On the way there I had v11 and my wife was scared. During the vacation v12 was installed and the trip back was relaxing and I definitely felt less tired than usual. This is a trip we take often to visit parents.
It’s very good but still makes some mistakes and you definitely have to keep a close eye on it. Most common error I have is being in the wrong lane. For example the lane the car is in turns into a turn only lane, and of course the car doesn’t know that frequently until it’s too late to move over due to traffic. Or it waits too long to move into the turn lane in heavy traffic and then has to either squeeze in between two cars or frequently has to brake kinda hard to get behind a car to be able to make the turn. Also it frequently accelerates to hard for conditions and then brakes too hard, making the ride a little unpleasant for passengers. But overall it’s a vast improvement over the previous version.
This video was excellent! Thanks so much for testing the "Bus Only" lanes. It looks like Tesla fixed that issue.
Wow! Not sure I could do any better driving in those conditions. Amazing!
post more! subbed!
My Model Y FSD went through the usual morning traffic mess to LGA smoothly.
Ok I know that you are a newer channel but you need to work on not repeating yourself over and over again
Thank you!! Good video
17:32 there was a stop sign🤔
Someone here added that, despite FSD running the stop sign and EV Traveler not even noticing, the AI was carefully watching the roads from all directions and ran the stop sign while carefully and safely merging into an empty lane, which it would not have done had there been any traffic. I suppose that's probably true.
I wd say FSD is there.. a year ahead- we wdnt be even talking - and 3 years ahead..it wd be like what machine chess is today.. 2024 is the inflection year
3:32 The judgement of this FSD is particularly noteworthy.
no problems? any problems?
at 17:28 FSD fails to stop at a Stop Sign,,, however, IT IS the divers responsibility to make the stop if fsd fails to do so. FSD is only to be used while being supervised,,, anyway, it ran a stop sign, drivers fault, driver was aware that it was going to happen and allowed it to happen because he saw that there was no traffic coming and allow it to carry on,,, an fsd mistake that is sure to be fixed by Tesla. Overall, fsd is very smooth, really awesome, but still makes mistakes, the errors are getting to be fewer though. Thanks for sharing, Cheers!
If FSD is driving the car in a busy big city (LA, New York, etc) it is still making *many* *errors* . The proof is all over CZcams.
Plus, FSD missed the stop sign, but it did not miss the traffic in the intersection and merged in smoothly while fully aware that it was safe to do so, despite having run the stop sign. Inexcusable, but probably not dangerous at all.
@@richarda3659 A primitive FSD that *runs* *Stop* *signs* . I would not trust FSD with my wife and child.

The improvement is to use the interior camera to check if the driver is paying attention. and to remove the steering wheel nags.
Can we stop for a moment and take in the fact that this is a 5 year old car that had fsd enabled with an over the air update. That is amazing. NO OTHER CAR MAKER CAN DO THIS.
More importantly, Tesla cars have more features once you own them than when purchased new. For example, Tesla is waiting on regulatory approval in the US to upgrade the headlights to adaptive ones via over-the-air software updates. They have received regulatory approval for this feature in Europe.
@@williamrogers1219I am using it in Europe for the last 2 months. It works really well.
Mercedes and BMW have OTA enabled now since end of last year few models.
Mr Goat, can we stop for a moment and realize that Elon talked big about FSD *eight* *years* *ago* , and today it still makes mistakes everyday, on a challenging drive. FSD is a simple Level 2 assistant. Level 5 Full Autonomy is years away. .
@@DerekDavis213nope you are wrong.
I’m not sure how I like FSD staying in the passing lane for that amount of time. I would’ve thought that it would move over.
The highway FSD is still version 11. I'm sure once they switch it over to version 12, it will be much better
WHAT THE!?? At 17:32 FSD blew right through a stop sign! Serious accident very possible. "STOP" was painted on the road as well, and there was even a "stop ahead" advance warning sign. Thanks, Elon, for inexcusably exposing your valued customers to severe injury.
Well it’s still an ongoing development version But the fsd although he didn’t respect the stop sign at that point, would have never gone further if he didn’t feel he could go. Like if there was a car crossing he would have never go blindly into the car. Stop sign was hidden partly by leaves.. they should train the AI model to detect even if signs are partly covered by trees or leaves
@@alexkurt1101 _it’s still an ongoing development version_ And by ongoing you mean *almost* *four* *years* *in* *beta* . Blowing thru a Stop sign is inexcusable, at this late stage in the game. .
@@DerekDavis213 Okay, I get that, but it's not like this is some unusual or unexpected corner case, it's a freeking STOP SIGN, something kindergartners would have thought of 10 years ago. Pretty basic stuff if you ask me.
@@richarda3659 I agree with you. FSD is making kindergarten level mistakes, after 4 years in development. FSD has a long road ahead.
@@DerekDavis213 Version 12 has made stupendous improvements, enabling more and more CZcamsrs to have zero-intervention trips (ironically making it more difficult for them to post interesting content). But FSD still has some gaping holes and still makes some rookie mistakes like this one. But Musk decided to democratize FSD and bring it to the masses that would never invest another $25K in a bunch of spinning lidar sensors and computing technology, so Tesla designed a system others claimed was impossible, by basing it on cameras and vision only, and running it on relatively inexpensive computers. Looks like they've largely been successful. Musk promoted a system based on technology that didn't exist, and then just waited for 5 or 6 years until the technology caught up. That strategy seems risky to me and shows questionable judgment, but okay, they eventually got there.
The sight of the STOP sign did not arouse the interest of the FSD.😅 Thank you for the video. I wish you a nice day...
FSD has trouble with signs: ROAD CLOSED, DO NOT ENTER, BRIDGE OUT, etc
