In 2012 I was on tramadol for a month for shingles. Then my doctor said I didn't need it any more, and indeed my pain had receded a lot, so OK. What he didn't realize is that I had just used up all I had when I saw him, so I stopped abruptly. He said afterward that I probably shouldn't've done that; presumably he'd've prescribed more for me to taper off on. But I didn't find the abstinence syndrome nasty; rather, it was a kind of fun, albeit possibly inconvenient. I was sleepless and jerked around in bed, which bothered me until I realized, hey, I don't have to sleep, and then it was fine. Also I went thru a few days of lots of introspection, leading to episodes wherein I'd be crying thinking about things, though not necessarily sad crying, just like realizations about certain things, including some happy crying. It was bringing out certain aspects of my thinking that I already tend to have. Since I spend a lot of time alone, this was not bad the way it might've been at some times in my life. It also helped knowing that this was just the drug talking, not a lasting effect, nothing to be worried about Funny as it sounds, I've thought since then that if the circumstances were right, I might like to get on tramadol again for a while so I can go thru the withdrawal experience again. Probably not worth the drowsiness of being on the drug, though!

Excellent video and keep them coming. Apparently the Metoprolol Tartrate is more suitable in my situation. Regardless of what my cardiologist said, I started taking 1/4 of a pill because a whole pill made me very dizzy even with food. 1/4 of a pill twice a day made me slightly dizzy until I got use to this medication. But I got use to it and increased my dose to 1/2 of pill twice a day where the slight dizziness returned until I got use to it. But I am ready to take the whole pill twice a day now, but the so call NP I go to is really making it difficult for me as far as getting enough pills so I can start taking the whole pill twice a day and not running out before the 30 days is up. All these doctors do is overdose patients instead of starting small. That is why we all need to take charge of our health and not let doctors pull stuff on us. In the end Metoprolol Tartrate has served me well though I had to start out in smaller doses. Metoprolol has really helped with greatly reducing my PVCs, lowering my blood pressure and decreasing my heart rate. But if I ever start taking the whole pill twice a day and my heart rate gets to low than I will go back to 1/2 pill twice a day. Since I don't trust nurses and doctors to take my blood pressure correctly I have to take it at home and I make sure my equipment is accurate. I have been taking my own blood pressure for about 30 years and researched it on how to take it properly. So I see taking blood pressure readings as somewhat of a skill especially when a manual blood pressure cuff and stethoscope is used and now I understand well blood pressure readings need to be taken correctly. But nurses don't even know how to use digital monitors either.

I had this for over 40 years. It came every spring after being in the first sun. Started in sun exposed areas primarily my face but then I would get all over body hives even on unexposed areas. It was a complete nightmare. This year I've used Eucerin factor 50 sun allergy cream on my face and neck and for the very first time I've had no sign of it! I'm hacked off no dermatologist ever mentioned it to me in all this time.

I've been on 200mg for 15 years and decided to decrease to possibly none. I'm on my second week of 150mg. I experience moderate withdrawal symptoms after going to bed. I'm also on a bipap machine (like CPAP) and the withdrawals interfere with my use of the bipap. I'll be cutting back another 50 mg's making it 100mg's per day for 2 weeks. Hopefully I will kick it out of my system for good. I originally used it for a back injury 15 years ago. I'm 72 and coming off of it is affecting my physical and mental wellness, even suicidal thoughts.

Hi there. I just had my skin TB test and it came out positive. I got my chest X-ray and it was negative. My question for you is: could you get latent TB from a BCG vaccination? I don’t really want to undergo for the latent TB treatment if my positive skin test result came from vaccination (which I am not certain I got it as I am from the Philippines and my mom could not remember if I had it and there was no record of my vaccinations at all). I hope you can help me figure this out. I am thinking about getting the blood test done hoping it would tell me if I was vaccinated or not. Thank you

    • @medmadeez9159

Individuals who have had a BCG vaccine often show false positives with TB tests. However, you should talk to your primary care provider to get their opinion on what you need to do next.

I think that if you have the opportunity to visit a doctor, this is a good decision. in my case, I took a combination drug with paracetamol. I’m a little scared for the condition of my internal organs, since the dose has reached 20-25 tablets per day. good luck to all of us! and remember that in the future it is extremely dangerous to think that you can take the drug once without the risk of getting addicted. in my case this happened after 9 years of cleanliness
