3 Things Every Language Teacher Needs for Their First Lesson
In this video, I’m going to share 3 things to avoid in your first language lesson with children-and what to include instead.
Opening day is a make-or-break moment! When it’s a smash hit, it sets the stage for success throughout the year by creating a place where children actually want to be.
Why Your First Lesson is a Big Deal
Your first lesson sets the stage for everything that follows. It’s your chance to:
• Set the Right Tone: Create a welcoming atmosphere that makes students feel at ease.
• Break the Ice: Help your students warm up to you and each other - and jump into speaking English without fear or reluctance.
• Make a Positive First Impression: Show students you’re friendly, approachable, and well-organised, and start building trust.
• Spark Excitement: When your first lesson is engaging, students will be eager to come back for more.
Need help with your first lesson?
The English Drama Starter Kit© is an online teacher training course course that takes the guesswork out of planning your first lesson.
It’s bursting with all the essentials and a ton of extras you didn’t even know you needed for teaching kids ages 6-10.
With the new school year around the corner, picture this: a simple, flop-proof, rock-solid lesson plan you can deliver with confidence-even if drama isn’t your forte-and ESL activities that captivate your students from day one.
It’s a teacher survival kit!
You can find the course details and if you join the WAITLIST by 19th August 2024 you’ll get an exclusive coupon to obtain the course at a special discounted fee.
