Suzuki Savage/Boulevard S40 Low End major Vibration - Cam Chain Tensioner at 19mm

Video showing a Suzuki Boulevard/Savage S40 with a major engine vibration issue. I was hoping it was the cam chain tensioner, but it was still in place. It is at the end of its ROM though at 19mm. Doing a leak down test revealed a leak in one of the exhaust valves.

    I have been working on this bike all day and the wife is getting pissed. I pulled apart to do the valves shims. the crankcase breather hose that is the middle hose on the airbox where the hell does that go?? Does it just not go to anything? I cant tell there was a little clip on there but I've looked everywhere. I've scoured the internet and the manual and cannot find. any help would be great. I know where it connects to the airbox I just don't know where it's supposed to connect from there. Anyone that can help would be much appreciated.

    Shims don't do anything if they're put on top of the c-clip. Shims are meant to go on the bottom to raise the needle and allow more fuel through.

    • @shawndaniels2846
      @shawndaniels2846 Před 2 měsíci

      Shims on top of the needle are by instruction from the manufacturer. The only reason to use one below is to raise the needle 1/2 step between the adjustments.

    Upsss!!!, A PCV Valve, !!! Upsss, efectivamente esa es una válvula PCV, y tiene como finalidad que los gases que se generan dentro de la cabeza y motor de la moto sean desechachos hacia su exterior mediante estás resperideros, que más que respiraderos son expulsadores de gases, pues al ir conectado al filtro y toma de aire de carburador funciona subsionando los gases daniños hacia la cámara de combustión y así sean reciclados. O sea a efecto de que esos gases sean quemados !!!. Esa es la única función de esa válvula, y si obstruyen los orificios expulsores de gases de aceite lo que ocacionaras es mayor presión en su interior y por consecuencia que las juntas de esa cabeza se dañen y empiece a expulsar el aceite mediate ellos. Ok. Bay

      @@keithk7451 that's because you're not mechanically inclined or just making foolish statements or uneducated statements. You don't see any real disadvantages to doing this because you don't know any better. But you go ahead and do this to your son's bike and you'll find out first hand. There's always some goofball on CZcams showing you how to do something that will destroy your vehicle or motorcycle and this is a clear example of one. This will also cause the reeds in the valve covers to become sooted up with a lot of carbon and cause them to no longer work which is a serious issue. But hey you continue believing what you want even if it is defective thinking. It's nice to know you have a Harley-Davidson where every single part was manufactured in China.

I love how people claim that it's made in America when absolutely not one component of a Harley-Davidson was ever manufactured in the United States and all the parts come from China. Obviously you're not a mechanic so you saying that there's minimal drawbacks doesn't really hold any water because there are serious drawbacks to doing something like this as now the reeds Will not be able to operate properly and you will cause major problems with the motor by doing this ridiculous modification which does nothing but damage and has no upside.
