when I experienced on and off abdominal pain way back in 2017 my GP requested for an ultrasound the results said my pancreas is normal so my GP said I was ok. I had blood test twice a year since then and I did not have abdominal pains again. what I had was chronic back pains so my GP referred me to a physio I was ok everytime I had physio treatment but since 2017 since I did not have any occurence of abdominal pains my GP did not request any ultrasound again. in 2021 something happened to my husband I was so stressed then coming home from work I saw my left big toe nail was hurting so I soaked it in a warm water with baking soda and the next day it was inflamed. when I saw the GP she said I had fungal infection but I said no where will I get that I told her and she requested an x-ray of my toenail and the results said nothing wrong inside of the toenail. I waited till I inflammation gone I was referred to a podiatrist because the nail is becoming black and deformed he just cut the nails I was limping still that time. the GP did not give any meds for that just antibiotics for the inflammation but after that nothing. come 2022 I had to change GP and when I told the new GP about my toenail she requested the next time I had appointment with a podiatrist the nail should have a lab test to know what kind of fungal infection so that she can prescribe the right meds. it took me awhile before I can see the GP again but she left the clinic so I had to see another GP. by the time I had a new GP I told her it has been more than a year I had this problem with my left big toenail. when I asked if it was really a fungal infection and she said yes she prescribed me Lamisil. I was on my 6th month of taking Lamisil for my fungal infection when I had this on and off abdominal pain. when I told my GP it might be the Lamisil that caused the pain so she requested an ultrasound and blood test. the ultrasound done in the morning in the afternoon the GP asked to see me urgent. she said they saw a tumour on my pancreas and to be sure she requested a scan of my upper abdomen that was when she was positive I had pancreatic cancer. I had another scan from breast to my throat and the results she said it did not spread so I was not worried then. I underwent chemo for 3 months the results showed it did not work the cancer marker rose to 2,000. I had radiation therapy for 5 treatments of stronger dose according to them and the scan this year showed it did not work also and what is disappointing they found 2 small spots in my lung and 1 small spot in my liver which were not found before I started radiation. the only consolation of radiation the cancer marker went down from 2,000 to less than 400. at the moment I had no treatment my last radiation 01 Nov 2023 till now nothing. I was referred to a cancer screening program for genomic profiling of my tumour sample they said it was completed was sent to the oncologist to discuss it to me but since 5 April 2024 I did not hear anything from the oncologist for sure they found nothing to help me shrink the tumour. since 27 feb 2024 I started fasting I wanted to lose weight also many who had cancer said starving the cancer might be of help so I did and I tried not to take meds for pain for 12 days I was alright but hard to sleep because the meds for pain that I have makes me drowsy. I do not want to undergo chemo again because it is killing me faster than the cancer itself. I might just continue on fasting and maybe tried hard to do exercise which I used to do hoping it might help as well as continue having blood test to monitor my blood count and the cancer marker. praying to God that all who have cancer will survive to tell our story how we handle it on our own when chemo and radiation are not working. hope God will extend my life a little longer to be with my husband a bit longer he has his own medical issues as well. God bless us all.
