Great all around board full concave to a double in the tail using it as a single fin by Slick 9" in small waves it Noserides awesome but got to use it in bigger waves it handle driving though some barrels I though I wasn't going to make the board has been though a lot and it is still a great board!

The Test rider report for Jan & Feb on the 9' 0" and 8' 8" DM Ultraflex models on some nice rights at Honolua Bay it wasn't that big but a occassional big set would roll in at times and clean everyone out. Hilo Surf and Surftech had the Demo day at two different spots on the Big Island Hawaii at Honoli`i and Bowls poiki surfing with Local Team rider Koa Enriques also Dino Miranda was on hand to get some waves riding a few different boards small and long, Koa live in a place where the waves break on sharp lava rocks and it make the waves great but dangerous!

I ride an MR mega twin bought it from mad dog at Byron about six years ago love it , I hate epoxy boards there fucking crap I bought a Tom Carroll 6'9 from Byrne down the gong about thirteen years ago ,price tag was about eight hundred . I paid eight hundred for a piece of shit !

Try the Surftech Revelation. It works good.
The ITP is my all around board. Great for rolling town waves but on these North Shore waves you have to take off sideways. I use a Takayama Halo fin withe the halo sidebites.
haha true, when North Shore is firing, you gotta come in sideways and paddle in hard while praying at the same time. I'll drop in Haleiwa on my ITP on 8-foot sets.

Just another way to lock the rail in because the trash can lid nose will dig into the steep waves if you don't set the rail right away and cause you to pearl or catapult.
Also notice he does it switch stance ! He switches back to regular at the end of the ride

The takayama is a good investment but the performance aspect is the low point, try puting in a smaller center fin with two small side fins

The tuffys aren't as true to planshape as the poly versions that MR shapes by hand. That's just a fact of life but they're about 90 true. He shaped me an 82 retro with single into deep doubles in 09 an is much faster and has more of a natural flow than this board. The supertwin is an amazing board. HEAPS of fun! BUT there is NO substitute for one he has shaped with his own hands. Them waves looked like real fun. heers bro!
How do you duck dive these things in powerful waves? Just got a Robert August single fin given to me. Its about 6'10". By far the biggest/most volume I have in my quiver (other than a foamer which I would never waste good waves on). I LOVE this single fin and its been awesome in everything from Rincon to hollow beach break. Only problem is I can't paddle out when its macking like I can on a short board. Do you turtle and then paddle like hell? or am I missing something?
Yeah, sorta. You need an all around type of board. I just suggested the Dino due to the comment that SurftechHI left regarding it. Some performance boards are high performance and present there own problems for beginners. Your best bet is to find a good board salesperson who isn't just trying to sell you a board. Look for someone who is willing to discuss different board types and is trying to put you on the right board.

NNNOOOO!!!!! This board has a pretty flat rocker which is not very forgiving on takeoffs and choppy surf. Look for something with more rocker. The low rocker helps on takeoffs and noseriding but make this a board for intermediate surfers or better. This is actually a larger high performance longboard that was designed specifically to be nose ridden, or the other way around...a nose rider with crisp rails and narrower tail for performance surfing.

just went out on the surftech RA Harley Ingleby Ultraflx quad set up. Is a similar board. Super quality build, very lite. But it didn't feel loose. Carves but kinda stiff. Looks like you are having to work to make that board respond. Maybe I'm wrong. But I am trying a 2+1 setup next time out.

This board has rounded rails, a thin nose and is very versatile. But surf techs suck; they have zero flex, they are too light, and combine that with the smooth plastic-like finish, they bounce and skip across any surface texture on the wave. Plus they aren't "shaped", they are simply "pop-out". It's rumored many are made in Asia. The poly In The pinks are arguably the best performance nose riders out there, but I'd rather ride a boogie board than a surf tech.
