    Definitely questioning my own intelligence at this point 😂I have watched you do row 1 & 2 a million times and on the last stitch before the chain at the end of row 2 I am ending on a DC not a FPDC. I did ch. 35 like you said and did a DC in each stitch starting with the 3rd chain from the hook and ended up doing 33 DCs in row 1. Not sure how I am ending on a different stitch when repeating the sequence. Send help😭

      Thank you! I didn’t use a border for this as I was making a simple swatch for the video. However most of my patterns I use a simple single crochet border. You can always use that or a different border. I always enjoy a good shell stitch, so that could be really pretty.

    Hi. After the chain, it looked like you did the first row in the back loop only. Is that correct? Did you go through both loops in the other rows?

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets Před 20 dny

      For the first row, you are working in the chain stitches, so yes, it'll look like you're working in one loop. However, for the remaining rows, you will work in the top of the stitch, which is both loops. Hope that helps!

    • @laurenthompson2322
      @laurenthompson2322 Před 19 dny

      Thank you for responding. That's interesting, I was taught to have two loops ( the top) over the hook when I crochet into the chain. And to do the same for the subsequent rows unless I'm doing a back loop only stitch. Have you done this with the first row before? Have you found that it makes a difference in the outcome of the project?

    • @AmandaCrochets
      @AmandaCrochets Před 19 dny

      @@laurenthompson2322 I feel like everyone works into the chain a different way. I’ve been working into the back bump a little more as I find this to be a smoother look to my projects. I have worked a few projects in the back loop only and it creates a wonderful ridge to the projects.

      Can you design a moss stitch hot pad where you just use one strand and make two pieces, and then put them together? I would love to see that. Perhaps you could call it the beave house hot pad or maybe the Sea Side Hot Pad. That would be nice for summer.

    I love this hot pad. I had a pattern idea for you. I noticed you had a face scrubby pattern. Could you please design some double sides face scrubbies? I bet the griddle stitch would make a nice hot pad too. Or maybe you could use the stitch you used for the Farm House Dishcloth to make a double thick Farm House Hot Pad.

      You can use whatever color you’d like for your blanket 😊

    I have been crocheting for about 40 years and this isn't like any Moss stitch that I've ever seen. I learned it as sc skip a ch... all the way across on the first row and the sc in each chain space the rest of the rows. You can also use hdc instead of sc. I don't want to offend you but I also don't want people to learn the wrong stitch names. It would be very confusing. Maybe you learned it differently so maybe you can search for the moss stitch and see what I mean. It does make a lovely dish cloth. ✌🏻😻🧶

      The stitch you’re describing sounds like the linen stitch. I know with crochet there are multiple names for the same stitch, which can get a little confusing. I’ve seen this stitch done both the way you mentioned and the way I show in this video 😊
