Ya starting NOW is the start of what kind of year next year will bring. Have you done a video on your uncapping . I would be interested in seeing just how that one works an the internal parts . Just thought if you have not cleaned it up yet an needed to take it apart to do your cleaning. It sounds like you an your girls have a great plan on working together with a few troublemakers just like it happens most of the time . I think I also had more queen problems than I did last year but it all worked out. Thanks

Hi kathy, and your absolutely right, our 2025 bee season starts right now. they need queen right checks, beetle blasters on, feed syrup, and start treating for mites. Get all that done and we should be on the right road to a good season next year. I'm gonna try to make a descent video on the uncapper. ive searched for videos on utube and theres just not much out there on it so ill try to do a review video. The queen acceptance this year was kinda tough this year here in kentucky. I think it probably had alot to do with the drought. First round was decent at 75%, but the second round was only 45%. still thank god for each and every queen I ended up with.Want to thank you again for watching and commenting on my videos. It means alot and is very much appreciated. Hello Hello. I do not know if somehow I have been missing your video but I know we all have been really busy this time of year. Seeing you lift those deeps reminds me just why I changed my complete operation years ago to all medium supers . I still have some problems if I get a stack that gets up around six or seven supers hi . I keep a three step stool handy just for that reason. I think you an I got around the same amount of honey this year but the whole yard of bees I lost this year I got in a little off year last year I got around six hundred pounds last year from that yard an zero this season but things happens an I am happy with every drop my girls supply to me I am greatly great full . I am glad to see your season turned out well for you an hope your winter is not to bad . I am planning on getting that same Hillco extractor you have but I am glad I held off because John just came out with a upgraded new version of that one . Thanks for the update. Thanks

hello again Kathy. Always a pleasure hearing from ya .Hope all is well in your neck of the Woods. Wish I would have started out with all medium hives from the beginning. Can't afford to replace all boxes now.Didnt know any better when I started out. Sure hate to pack those deeps but they sure make alot of honey. Not gonna complain about those little vivo extractors, but they cant handle the deep broodbox frames very well. They got me by for 5 years but I love the ultramax. Most definitely looking to get another one.Gonna call john at hillco and find out what all has changed from the Ultramax. I don't think I would benefit from the upgraded program control .I like turning it up and down myself that way I know there's nothing getting stupid. My last honey extraction video will be coming out soon so stay tuned and ill have a year end total on the next one. Funny I was just watching a video on that. Its a cool feature and definitely has appeal, but don't think I would trust leaving it alone to do its own thing and if I'm going to be right there with it , I think for a 160 dollars, , don't think I really use that feature. Kinda like to be in control of the speed myself. Another thing I noticed, I didn't see any way to reverse spinning. I use the reverse spinning feature on my ultramax quite a bit. Especially when the honey is dry and thick. And I know this is picky and kind of stupid, but I really don't like the black color on the motor and control box . I also really don't like the honey comb shaped control box, but that's just me being picky, at the end of the day its the best extractor for the money on the market.i bought those 2 little extractors because all extractors in the 18 frame range was well over 2000 price range and shipping was a ordeal. searched and studied about every extractor out there for 5 years and when john came out with the ultramax for the price he did, and free shipping to my house, there was no shaking it off. had to buy one. And in the 5 years I looked at extractors, I never saw anything about any warranties.hillcos warranty is unheard of.what kind of extractor do you use?

Good stuff. Looks a lot like work! I think you are set up about as good as you could be for a one man operation. Another person or 2 could really speed things up if you could get all those extractors going. Maybe you could sell the smaller extractors and get another Hillco. I have tried to eliminate as many deep honey frames as able. Trying to get to all mediums for honey. I am too much of a wimp to use deeps fr honey. Looks like a vey nice harvest. Well done!

hello again Bruce.Feels like I've got a celebrity watching me.Ive not figured out any other way to get away from extracting the deeps.I run double deeps thru the winter. I don't like wintering in singles. I think that a deep and a medium is plenty of space, but i don't like the thought of having 2 different sizes of brood frames. So I guess my picky butt is gonna suck it up and keep packing those deeps for now.Love the setup you and rusty has going on.Most definitely got another ultramax on my radar. Not gonna complain about the smaller vivo extractors, the've got me by for five years, but they can't handle the stress from the deep broodbox frames. I’m very happy for you! You now realize that you can make your own queens and be self sustaining. Two things…I’d still be careful turning those cells upside down when transferring them to the incubator at day 9 or 10. And 2nd, I can’t tell for sure from the video, but the foam padding in your incubator needs to have a sealed bottom so you can contain early hatchers. It looks like the bottom is open, so if one hatched early on you she will have access to all the other cells and sting them down. But again, I’m happy for you on the great success you had on this round of grafting.

@@morninggloryapiary7001 I have had a really odd season . I think I have told you about my queens not making it back an the rain an storms washing all the blooms off well that was my good part of my season. Well Someone had the bright idea an thought it would help everything if they were to spray there garden or fields or whatever ( WRONG ) . Well I use to have a out yard .

    • @morninggloryapiary7001

I ended up with about 60 % of queens gettin mated first round and the rain is really hurting the necter flow here to.hate to here about the spray. I guess I've not experienced that yet and hope I dont.sorry it happened to you, sounds like you really care about your bees.wish people could understand that their not just bugs to us . I love my bees and that would certainly flatten me .wish there was something I could do for ya . Gonna pray for your season to get better. Let me no how things are going and thanks for your time . It's always a pleasure hearing from ya. God bless

Hi There! I found this video on my FYP. I'm on the fence about that uncapper. I know at the end of the day I'd love how easy it is, but $3500! WOW!

hello and let me say first that i felt the same way. not made of money here so purchasing that uncapper really drew blood when i purchased it. and to be honest it really sucked when i first got it. if you have the time go back and watch my 3 honey extraction videos from 2023, you can see how it stared out and how i modified it to get it useable. many thanks for taking time to watch my video, i know time is precious.God bless

Sorry for the focus issues , I've goofed up my camera and don't no how to fix it. Not very tech savvy here . Thanks for watchin, have been enjoying your videos as well. God bless

Hello and thanks for watching. Those gloves came from manlake. They used to be blue but they changed the color this time. I started out wearing the leather gloves, but I like these alot better .when they get nasty and sticky, I leave them on and wash them in the sink. Thanks again and god bless

Ya your are correct we can make plans every single day but I would bet you a penny everything will change before we get a fourth of the way through the day . I noticed you put your stores frame down stairs . I do not remember but I think it was Bob but it may have been Kamon was saying it is best to put a pollen frame on each side of your grafting frame so the nurse bees do not have to go very far to get the pollen an also maybe put some pollen patties strips in your cell builder an feed a like a 1.25 water to 1.00 sugar syrup. Also those need to be put in the cell builder at least one day early so the baby bees can already be getting into the food . Well our flow has gone to pot after all this rain we had but I sure hope it starts back . I need a bucket full of those sharp looking queens you have there . They sure look good. Good luck that is going to be a great builder . Thanks

Hello kathy ,as always great to hear from ya again. Your exactly right, things never goes as planned in the bee yard. Your also right about feeding the cell builder . It makes a big difference even if they already have plenty. Hope the necter flow kicks back in for ya . Ours has slowed down drasticly but it usually does after the locust trees and honeysuckle finishes. The white clover is starting to ramp up.hopefully it won't dry up on it. We'll as always, great to hear from ya and thanks for takin the time to watch my video. It's always appreciated. God bless
