Thanks for your video! I got a question, can you get the same level of clarity with the XP15 compared to the XP12?
Great question man. Yes for the most part, the 15s sound very good and clear/crisp and also offer more low end vs the 12s. Most likely, the 12s sound a little "clearer" because of the higher crossover setting. If you want the best of both worlds, and are ok carrying the heavier speakers, go with the 15s. if you are going to run a sub, go with the 12s for sure.

Love these lights! Fyi you dont need the astera art7 box anymore. The lights have built in bluetooth. I was able to use them w the app w no box.
You are 100% correct. I noticed 2 of my Astera AX1s said bluetooth when connected to the app. After further investigation, it was explained that those models do not need the box and can also act like a box for the earlier models I have. Thank you for watching by the way.

I bought a few of these and the battery life sucks!! For a german product, I feel that they've cut corners on the batteries. I already have 2 die out on me within a span of 1 year.

@@djrenier yes. But if you run out of warranty, you’re on your own. And the cost to fix is half the cost of the light. So you might as well buy a new one.

You’re welcome man. No problem, $2700 and I purchased them/kit from B&H Photo. A bride noticed that another company had them in my area and she said “I want you as my dj, but I want those lights.” I was already thinking of purchasing them, and she paid an upgrade which lightened the initial cost.

Do they come with a tripod or they have to be on the floor all the time
They do not come with a tripod, and I mostly leave them on the floor. I have seen some people attach them to a pole as almost like a spotlight or wash.
Back in 2013 they didnt have Ape Labs so I bought Chauvet. But the advantage is the wifi capabilities so I can color mix using my phone.... that remote doesnt color mix. Nice video though, but i cant believe people are still talking about up lights but I've been doing this for a while.
Chauvet is good too, you made a smart choice. I have a unit called W-APP (by Ape Labs) and it controls the lights via an app on your phone/tablet. You can color mix using that and it can control other fixtures (Chauvet included) via DMX.
@@djrenier yeah i think most of them interchange when using the wifi or difi type of thing, but again, dj's talking about up lighting drives me crazy. I bought a Honda CRV in 2013 the same year as I did the up lights ($2700 worth) but people will think I'm crazy if I still talked about how the CRV is so good with the back up screen and absence of a hybrid engine, hahaha.
I’ve been thinking a lot about these vs the Chinese brand. Pretty pricey, but I don’t really want to deal with dmx and donners so I think there worth the cost due to the ease of them. That case rocks too. Great review thank you
The price and initial investment hurts at first, but the features and benefits definitely make up for it. I just used them 2 days ago at a wedding reception and it took me less than 5 minutes to setup. I was able to carry 6 stacked in one hand and walk around room placing them. Then I repeated the process with the other 6 units. I chose the color using the remote and eventually switched them to sound active after dinner during the dancing portion of the night.
