The Trains at Old Threshers, 2023 - Mount Pleasant, IA
On Labor Day weekend, there's no better way to celebrate than by making a visit to the Midwest Old Threshers Reunion! Located in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, the Old Threshers Reunion is held for 5 days leading up to Labor Day each year, and features living history on display, with volunteers demonstrating everyday life in rural America from years gone by. Perhaps some of the greatest living history in action at the Reunion is a pair of railroads, complete with their own unique collections of equipment. On the narrow-gauge Midwest Central Railroad, volunteers operate trains for passengers to ride around the main grounds, powered by 2-6-0 steam engine 6, and diesel locomotive D-9. On the standard-gauge Midwest Electric Railway, visitors can ride to the Log Village and through the campgrounds on many different cars, including streetcar 1945, interurban 320, open-air trolley 1718, and recently restored streetcar 9. While taking in all the sights trackside over four days of the 2023 Reunion, plus riding both railroads across the grounds, we'll also be visiting other popular Old Threshers attractions, including the Steam Powerhouse, carousel, and the gas engines area.

Will All Amtrak Piedmont F59PHs Be Rebuilt Into Tier 4?
I rode on this train from Chicago to Flagstaff In April 2019.
The P42DCs are lining up at the Beech Grove Shops, outside Indianapolis, are getting ready to have the Phase VII painted for the future.
Even though I missed this, I hope to catch something similar again as more Genesis engines are painted into Phase 7.
More P42DCs will have to paint from Phase V to Phase VII from the Beech Grove Shops, operated by Amtrak for the future.
i wish 7081 and 6988 be steamed for Excursions.

If you did a video like this using both the inside shots from your actual journey as well as outside shots for both the Southwest Chief and Pacific Surfliner, perhaps you should do video's like this for the California Zephyr, Empire Builder, Coast Starlight and Sunset Limited if you haven't already.
I remember you saying you train was delayed and based on the PA announcements, by about 2 hours. That's not bad for this route as I've seen it being 4 or 5 hours late.
It’s been years and I still come back to watch this video. Seeing Superliners on the cusp of triple digit speeds with the aggressiveness of the automatic horn sequencer on the P42: “Get outta my way!!!” Absolutely love this video. Wish we still hauled express and mail service 👏🏼
I remember when I was a kid I used to hate the high pitched whistle on the #6 but I think I've grown to actually love the sound of it. It's almost a haunting sound you don't get with the mid to low pitched whistles even with how obcenely loud it is.

I think do with the different numbers. First Phase VII, 174 and second Phase VIIs, 82, 167, 138, 69, and 75.

Great video. It made me feel like a real passenger on the Southwest Chief. Also, I felt tired my self as you got to the part where you trains was nearing Albuquerque as the sun was setting after a long journey. I also really liked how you used outside shots of the southwest chief editing them in as your actual went through the places you filmed the Chief. It gives me something else to look at every once in a while, getting a break from just shots of the inside of the train.
