Lets see, the person I bought it from had a trick sound system including an amp, he pulled it all just before I bought it, so it has a descent radio and the two door speakers, all the wiring is still in place. The A/c is pretty descent, I replaced the orifice tube last week because it was building too much pressure on the high side, its pretty decent now. If I was keeping it I would probably replace the condenser to make it even colder.
How is the speaker and radio system? How well does the A/C and heater work? Lord knows we need it for this AZ heat, lol.
Interesting demonstration by a rare modest American.
very nice bolt working like most people can't. Thanks for sharing a nice video.
He was surprised that it had a small magazine, I think this was his first time shooting his Great Granfathers rifle
Look no smoke what so ever
Yes it was running on direct compressed air
If anyone else seen that last injecter push rod wasn't working
Looks like I see a synchronous motor, I've worked in plants that were built in the early a 1920s that had several of those
I bet you have some great stories. Do you have any videos of it?
@@CraigShuman I've got some pics if I can find them in the abyss of my garage! I worked for GE for many years, co Gen plants, nuclear, ect. I loved it
@@jerryumfress9030 Wow, that's awesome. I've always been fascinated by large machinery, they make me feel small. LOL
I went there in 1995 for the first time! RIP, Don Robertson
It's an amazing place, Don was an interesting person to talk to. His family is maintaining and continuing his vision.
Neat engine! Now need to get the generator put together and working!!
Governed at how many RPM's?
That's a great question, I'll ask them the next time I'm up there and will try to make a much better video. If you get a chance to go there, it's a machine lovers' paradise.
Filmed on a potato held like a cigar.
LOL, Yea, I was using a very old cell phone. I need to get back up there and film it again. I was there a few months ago but they were waiting on a part to be rebuilt so it could run again.
This is so awesome! People took so much time and effort to keep a part of history alive!! WOW, cool!
Xander du Preez ❤️
Learn how to handle a camera.
Reminds me of the 1920s air compressors driven by synchronous motors, in the old Long Bell compressor house in Longview, WA. Gone now. I got to see it run in the 1970s.
I just wonder how much torque that thing has.
Like to hear it under a good load
I was watching some Victorian steam engines start up and was amazed by how nice and neat and clean everything was. THIS is what I remember machine houses and such were really like. Thank you!
Where was the steam engine? Its amazing how much attention to detail that used to be the norm.
Good ☺️
👍👌👏
Thanks for the video from harvesting mistletoe... more videos like that
garbage
My father in law ran a diesel generating plant in Iowa, and the plant had more than one Chicago Pneumatic engine and a couple of smaller ones. However, the CP engines were nearly three stories tall, and the first time I went to see him, he was on a catwalk on the engine with a small oil can lubing the valve train cylinder by cylinder. He babied those engines, and I enjoyed the place immensely, going to see him there after driving 500 miles to see my then-fiance. Her folks, both gone now, are the folks you dream of for in-laws, and Cliff and I always enjoyed discussing the work he did at the plant. Unfortunately, the plant was closed and scrapped out, but there were dozens of these around Iowa, installed during the "rural electrification program" around WWII era, and all were built almost exactly the same. We even found another one when in another Iowa town for a wedding!
Nice vid sir.
very nice
I went thru Jerome a couple of years ago and did not know about this treasure I am going to go back for now
Plan a whole day if you like that stuff. This place is packed with amazing vehicles and equipment, most are in running condition to boot. I plan on going again. I may try to film it again with a better camera and making it easier to watch. I took this one just for me and to share it with my Dad and put it on CZcams so he could easily watch it. It's cool there are so many people like us that love this stuff.
Do they ever clean that thing?
I don't know. The next time I'm there I will ask. If you get a chance, you gotta go see this place in person. Any gearhead or lover of anything mechanical will be blown away by all the cool stuff they have.
What causes that whistling?
Lots of air rushing into the cylinders with each piston stroke.
@@CraigShuman I’m referring to the train-like whistle at 7:58.
@@samanli-tw3id they have an old whistle that looks like one from an old train steam engine. The next time I go there I'll try to get a picture of it.
Why wouldn't you just hire a couple 18 wheeler flatbeds to move it?
Good question, I'm sure that is a whole other story. The old man that put the whole place together and hauled the engine was a macgyver, do everything himself kinda guy.
Thank you that is amazing machine, is their much maintenance that the guy has to preform to keep it running ?
Good question, the next time I'm there I will ask him.
Good arm, Tori!
"it'll start on any cylinder but the boss said its best to do it on two so that's just what I always do" Because he knows the boss has fucked with that shit for years and if he has any problems and didn't start it on 2 he's on his own lol
LOL. True, but I think it has to do with they only have so much air to crank it over with and if it doesn't go he has to wait for the air tank to refill again.
Is he using propane for fuel ?. A great machine.
Yes propane
@@CraigShuman - Why not diesel, is it due to emissions ?. Your machine is just phenomenal, I've been on boats where they have had one, two, three and four-cylinder engines of this "adult" type. Once, I was aboard a tug for two months with a six-cylinder engine on board. But they were all two-stroke semi diesels, aboard old boats of course.
@@haraldpettersen3649 this was a power plant engine at a mine. Diesels are a different design with high compression and fuel injection. This engine can run on kerosene, gasoline and propane. When they picked this engine I be it had to do with cost first.
@@CraigShuman - A machine with many talents, it runs very nicely and will last for a hundred years if only it gets lubrication and cooling, and propane :) . Greetings from Norway.
some of the sounds , sound like me when i wake up.
I here that
A lot of bother for 3 minutes of demo time.
But its so right when you are there in person. Its freaking huge

Craig Shuman Thank You Craig and thank your sons for their service , from a fellow sailor
Looks like a SCCY CPX-2. DAO pistol. Thanks for sharing.
Its a fun plinker and not too bad for a first handgun. She has been dying to get her first handgun and it had to be a 9mm. Next time I'm at the range I'll have her test drive some higher end models and take it home. Too bad she isn't old enough for an EDC yet, but its a start.
@@CraigShuman Have her look at a SIG P365MS micro compact and give it a test drive. I have one and I am impressed with it. Although my favorite pistol is a sub compact Bersa TPR9C. It has a really sweet trigger. Just two for you to consider. Whatever she gets just make sure its comfortable and fits her and she likes shooting it otherwise it will collect dust. Best of luck. BTW, Whoever taught her to shoot knew what they were doing. Nice to see her keeping those thumbs down on the frame away from the motion of the slide. It looks like all she needs to do is just tighten up her grip a little to keep recoil down. She is nice and straight and not leaning back but she could lean forward into it a little more to take the recoil. Nice shooting though.
@@rbm6184 we are pm the same page. I was looking at that and the Hellcat. Not only for her but for me as well. I carry a full size Kimber but its a little big for EDC concealed in the Summer in AZ
@@CraigShuman Well the 365 has more for the money than the Hellcat. I paid $525 for my 365 with the manual safety. It comes with tritium night sights and it has a chassis for changing out the frame if you want. The "live fire" trigger is the smoothest and cleaner breaking of any stock striker pistol I have picked up. You cannot judge the trigger by dry firing it. Dry firing it feels like crap. You have to shoot it. Despite its snappiness it has soft felt recoil for such a small pistol and its very accurate. You will pay $600 for the Hellcat and only get one more round capacity without night sights or modularity or as good a trigger. Shoot both and then make up your mind. I have a Kusiak IWB leather signature minimalist holster for my 365. I really like that holster. Very comfortable and its stiff enough to reholster. Take care. Here is a video comparison by two women on both pistols. czcams.com/video/rc6ZmQjXQ4o/video.html
I love that garage !! I could work in there all day !!! Except that it's East of Bagdad ! I'll stick with American soil thank you. Wait, the sign said Arizona Power Co. ??? OK, got it. Hello !!!
LOL, yep Bagdag AZ. Its at the former ghost town of Jerome. Ya gotta see it if your into mechanical stuff, it takes more than a day to see it all.
they should put back cranks in cars. good exercise..
Muy peligrosa ésa maquinaria para un niño, por las bandas tan largas
Back in the old days, kids were taught to be more responsible and keep their distance.
Hook that generator up to it!
I'll bet maybe 10 guys in the world know how to operate that thing.
Looks like the engine needs some paint and place needs a broom and a spring cleaning
What is the fairbanks morse next to it?
Sorry I don't remember, I'll find out the next time I go there.
So, what's it used for today?
A working mining equipment to share the history of mining
10,154 cubic inches = 166.8 litres!
I try to visit the Mine whenever I'm near Jerome. Amazing collection!!!
Me too. I'm overdo to go again
imagine it running away and that flywheel takes a trip...
