I used his POTW and also noticed him helping out with defending. I think tall attackers can cover a lot of ground quickly and track back more

For me he is great as a defensive LB. He is alway in the right places.

I've tried him as a CB, left CB he used to be bullied by Gullit. Also his interception is so bad, even at 2nd half fortress.

you can also try change him from LB to a wide CB and put "attacking" on him instead of using "attacking and defensive" on him as a LB, that way you save an instruction

i have the attacking fallback version, how to use him then?

I believe you only need 1 player with captaincy trait in the team, and when he's selected captain it affects the entire team
