      Hi Mark. The lake where I did this demo is a mix of sand/silt/rocks/clay. Sand is obviously easiest, but we send these to customers all over the place and it's been years since we've had one come back that wouldn't go down. Obviously golf ball size rocks are a no go, but you'd be surprised the stuff they'll spin down into. That being said, yes, there are scenarios where they won't work.

    ....just installed a BMD (ramp and 4-6 by 8 foot sections forming a T ) at Lake Muskoday in Roscoe, NY....The first time was a little work because the 6x8 foot sections were a little heavier than the 4x8 foot sections would be....plus the water depth was not consistent at each pole....it was a 2 person operation the first time out....we also ordered the PVC decking material which, as Joe said in his other videos is the heaviest decking material....with all this said...this is one GREATLY ENGINEERED DOCK.....PARTS WERE EASILY PUT TOGETHER....Joe basically thought of everything...I am sure that the removal of the dock in the late fall and reinstallation next spring will be a snap now that each poll is set up.....the company is great and easy to work with...from Jim the driver who delivered the dock, to Sam who handled making sure I was happy to of course Joe who made sure I would have everything I needed and ultimately reviewed and signed off on the design.....we love our dock.....100% a top notch company who makes sure it's customers are happy....The Romano's highly recommend this dock and company....I would be happy to talk to anyone who is on the fence about whether this dock is for them....Joe, feel free to provide my email contact information if someone wants to speak to me.....thanks again for a great product!

  • @mrslkungpowchikn1206

    Seems like it should ask more questions about the type of river or lake, flow rates, seasonal elevation depth changes etc, then recommend different types of docks with pros and cons of each suggested type. THEN add your ladders etc. It should include seasonal docs and how to use them as well as permanent solutions.

    • @josephmchale9687
      @josephmchale9687 Před 3 lety

      They are a proprietary clip that matches the track system. If you were making your own dock you could use carriage bolts w/ wing nuts/washers etc. I've also seen people just use zip ties.

      In the north if you have ice you likely still need to take it out. The only real way to get around taking docks out are pile driven structures and even those can get damaged in some scenarios.

    pay no attention to the man behind the curtain lol. What happens in 8 ft of water with a boulder strewn bottom? In the video there isn't even enough water to pull your boat up to this dock. I'd also like to see a 70 year old retired couple put these docks in say 6 ft of water. Having dealt with tourists my entire life every summer for 61 years I can say for a fact that new new Yorkers are not honorable people in fact most are as depraved as slick Rick here. If you have a sandy bottom and a foot of water these might work but extremely marginal at best.
