It has become my preferred way to play, as long as I’m not playing a shooter. I’ve been playing Tales of Kentara on it and I would never know it’s streaming.

Yeah, it seems to be incredibly predictable based on how the lobby gets stack before the match. It’s easier to see it in the first few weeks of the game before everyone maxes out their levels, or prestiges, or whatever.

I completely agree about the price. For $200 it should definitely play Netflix, CZcams, etc and play cloud games. And for the internet connection, a good test is download the PlayStation app and try out remote play-the connection on the Portal will be the same

What an odd comment lol do you know what production cost/overhead/parts and materials are? The portal has memory, a processor, WiFi chip, battery, a fully functional ps5 controller, and an 8 inch screen. A PS5 controller alone is $70 bucks, so we’re talking only $130 for all of the other stuff you get, and that’s only accounting for raw physical materials (there’s still OS, research and development, etc). Whether you like what the product does or have a use for it is irrelevant to its price. The price is objectively very good for the raw materials put into the Portal.

@@lolztony that's very true, but as long as I'm paying for all those parts, I might as well be able to watch Netflix and CZcams on it. It's a little disappointing that the machine is capable of running those apps, but doesn't.

Exactly! Forget everything else, being able to stay on a fun and competitive server is the main selling point for me. I know the game isn't revolutionary, but being able to talk to people in the lobby and sticking with them a while is huge. I remember making friends in random Call of Duty lobbies that I played with for years

Valid. I prefer the staggered stick layout on the Xbox controllers, but the PlayStation controller design is iconic

@gamersthumb I was more interested before its release. With what JorRaptor said about it, it may be more of a 'wait for sale' game for me. I'm also focused on getting through Dragon's Dogma for now. I'll definitely watch your review though! I like getting multiple perspectives.

@@yokejuemo7929 I probably won't change your mind. I'm enjoying it, but it's definitely flawed. It just comes down to how important those flaws are to you personally. For me, the good outweighs the bad, but gamers with different priorities will feel differently.

@gamersthumb Oh yea absolutely. Some people need a good story, some people care more about gameplay. Some need good graphics, some don't. I've enjoyed many games that were devisive on release. Looking forward to the review!

It’s interesting to hear it’s not just mine. Since I bought second-hand, I wasn’t sure if they were all that way or not. And yeah, after three years and two controllers one of my DualSense finally got the stick drift so I feel your relief/anxiety

Don't. The portal is garbage. I have 900 down, 200 up & I still get terrible performance. I've ordered a new reuter, but I honestly don't think it's going to help.

In my mind, the 2015 and 2017 Battlefronts were more like a reboot. And the more I play the Classic Collection, it's less of a remaster and more of a re-release. They updated the graphics a little bit and added 64-player matches (up from 32), but that's about it. Nothing else is improved, and in several areas it's actually worse than the originals. Hit detection, lag, server disconnects... Aspyr has really gotta step up their game and make this right.

@@gamersthumb well they were the ones doing the remake of knights of the Old Republic. Let's hope they get that some right. Assuming it's even still coming out.

@@jamielishbrook2384 As far as I know, Aspyr has been taken off that project and now it's in Rock Paper Shotgun's hands. But there's no timetable and the last anything was said publicly, it was only a small team working on it. I'm convinced Aspyr was just doing a straight port of the original and there's no way that would fly, which is why the project was thrown into an indefinite delay. People want an updated version with a modern engine and combat mechanics on that one, for sure.

@@jamielishbrook2384 Absolutely! Those are some of my all time favorite games, and I'd love to see them brought into canon. The re-release of Dark Forces this year did not bring Kyle Katarn into canon, though, so I guess we'll see. But KOTOR is too important to f up, I'm actually glad the powers that be stepped back and hit the reset button on that remaster/re-release/whatever Aspyr was doing.

Yeah I do t want them to change much, but I would like some updated controller controls. Shooters feel a lot smoother and snappier these days than they did 20 years ago.

I’m excited about being able to play this on on a modern console, but I think they may need to update the controls a little
