Hi, we're John and James, The Sons of Thunder (look it up). We hope you enjoy watching the videos of our adventures in mountain biking as much as we enjoy making them. Our mission is to ride the mountain bike trails of the world and share our experiences, as well a God's word to those of you who have open hearts. If any of our videos or scriptures have encouraged you to investigate or pursue a relationship with God, let us know in the comments, or drop us a line. We'd love to hear about it. Maybe we'll even see you out there on the trails. AND, don't forget to stick around for some of James's guitar playing. He's pretty good!
God Bless!

James, playing with his new acoustic looper pedal. We built an acoustic specific pedal board consisting of three Fishman AFX Acoustic Mini pedals (The AcoustiVerb Mini, the Pro Mini EQ, and the Broken Record Mini looper) and the Behrenger MIC100 Tube Ultragain. He played it into the infamous Stage Right Monoprice 15-Watt Tube Amp. Just playin' around and initial testing.
James's Guitar Progress

James asked Santa for a kid-sized guitar. Santa came through. To our surprise, James has spent many, many hours practicing. He was so self-motivated that we started him on a 26 week online guitar course with Guitareo taught by Nate Savage. He practices 6-7 days a week without fail. This video illustrates his progress so far. He's been working very hard on his timing and rhythm.
James Art Slideshow

James has been sketching/drawing for the last three years. He wanted to share with his art teacher. All of his drawings are 100% free-hand from pictures he has found on the net, his books or photos he has taken himself. His favorite mediums are graphite pencil, colored pencil, and Etch-a-Sketch. Enjoy!

Canyon Neuron Young Hero XXS, (part 2) First "Serious" Ride!
zhlédnutí 4,4KPřed 2 lety
First serious ride on the CNYH. Such a great concept for a kid's bike! If you're on the fence about this bike's capabilities, this video should help you decide. James fits the bike well (at 4' 8"), and there are no issues with the size (Thanks Canyon!). I would say he's at about the minimum size to ride this bike off-road. Any smaller and he wouldn't be able to put his feet on the ground with t...

zhlédnutí 12KPřed 2 lety
James received a new bike for his 10th birthday. He helped put it together and we took it out for a "shake-down" ride. The "Young Hero" version of the neuron is a unique bike. Made for people James's size but with 27.5" wheels. APOLOGIES for the shaky ride footage! Seems the GoPro camera shuts off its own stabilizer mode when you put it in the Karma Grip stabilizer and you have to turn it on ag...

Blessings to President Reagan 🇺🇲 & Nancy Reagan
Very nice! Thanks for visiting.
Hermoso video, hermosa tu familia. Gracias por mostrarnos el Rancho Del Cielo. ¡¡¡Viva Ronal Reagan!!!
Muchisimas gracias por las palabras tan bonitas! Que Dios le bendiga!!
god bless you my friend and have fun🌻🍀💛
Thank you! You too!
I wish I could visit the Reagan rance. I would pray there and say thank you Mr. President for protecting our country. 🤠👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I may have said a prayer there too 😇
I had no idea his ranch it’s for people to visit
If you can arrange it, I highly recommend a visit! Thanks for visiting.
And now who is the owner of that ranch?
Nancy donated to the Young America Foundation. They run programs there.
Mi sembra di avere visto nel filmato, una macchina per scrive - Olivetti linea 98 -
Before the computer age, it was quite common. Thanks for watching!
Absolutely heart warming; I was almost as excited as he was.
Thank you for the nice comments, God bless!
Thank you
You are very welcome, beautiful indeed!
Beautiful
you are good on bike
I was big fan of president ragen.thank you very much.uploding.
You are very welcome!
1ero. Me gusta la austeridad de esa casa de campo. 2do. Agradecer la confianza de poder filmar la casa de un gran presidente. 👏👏👏🇺🇸
De acuerdo. Gracias por las palabras bonitas. Que Dios le bendiga!

Thanks, Fixed!
I watched the news 35-40 years ago, their guests had arrived (M. Thatcher) even the rug chair is still in the same place.
They do a great job in making the place a time capsule. Thanks for visiting!
This would be absolutely heartwarming if it were not for the woman on the couch. Her comment about the volume and blatant detachment from this magic through her body language is the ultimate buzz kill. This lil guy is doing his best (and he’s pretty damn good for an 8 year old, playing The Beatles and Led Zeppelin tunes) and she looks like she would rather be anywhere else, doing anything else. I understand she is probably family and is going through the motions being present, but she is basically a dementor sucking the joy out of the room. Huge props to the dad and kid though; clearly he already understands several things about music even as a youngster and dad is trying to steer him in the right direction like an absolute boss. I sure hope he is still playing!
First of all, thanks for the nice comments and props, but we should go easy on grandma. She loves her grandson loads and treats him like a king. It was quite a busy day, and she obviously doesn't have a lot of interest in electric guitar. To be honest, she's showing more patience with her irritation than you are with her. I would say take a lesson from granny and instead of getting so wound up and being so critical, just sit quietly and let others enjoy the moment. If we all keep our negativity to ourselves, everyone wins in the long run. God Bless!
I think that spending over a 1000$ on a bike that is full suspension and not jumping whit it is a waste of money ( in my opinion )
Agreed. Thanks for your opinion. 🤣
I really need to buy one like this one and the telecaster
You won’t regret getting one 🎸

Did Nancy like it here?
I think she was happy to be anywhere her "Ronnie" was. Thanks for visiting!
How cool! Thanks for the tour.
You're welcome!
Love it nicely done father and son bonding
Thanks brother. Nice talking to you this week. Let's ride soon!
Aww!! So cute! I’m about to buy a mini stratocaster because of my small hands and I find the regular sizes guitars so uncomfortably big. He’s so talented!! I can only imagine how much he’s improved since. I can’t wait to learn!! I can tell he’s so passionate just by hearing “Here Comes the Sun” he had such a genuine reaction. So wholesome. God bless!
Thank you for the nice comments. When you get the mini strat, you might want to consider paying to have it set up by a competent professional. His needed a bit of work to make it more comfortable and easy to play. Check out some of his more recent guitar videos if you want to see how much he has improved. Thanks again and God bless you too!
Do you mind if I ask how tall he was at the time of this video? My son is 8 years old and 48 inches tall and every chart I look at says he needs a half size guitar but for the life of me I can't find anywhere that sells 1/2 size electric guitars. It's either 1/4 or 3/4 and he has no real interest in acoustic. I know the mini strat is more of a 3/4 but it seems to fit your son well (though he's obviously experienced and my son is brand new to playing)
I just checked and he was 48 inches around his birthday according to his 8 yr. old check up (55th percentile). He's always been right in the middle of growth chart for his age. Sounds like it will fit him just as you see in the video. Hope this helps. Good Luck!
You rode right by my house! I was super impressed as I ride those trails everyday and some of it was super steep for the little guy and yet He just motored right up!
Thank you for the nice comment and for watching. He was like a little wind up toy. He's 11 now and can really climb!
It made me smile.. god bless the kid and whole family!
Thanks, we're glad it made you smile. God bless you too!
Can he standover the bicycle? the site lists 2xs as still having a standover height of 751mm so I am curious.
Yes he can. Check out the thumbnail on part two of this video at 4 minutes. czcams.com/video/RaplFwM1xVM/video.html
Nice bike
Thanks, it's a lot of fun. Thanks for watching.
This is a modest home, with modest furnishings, yet tasteful and charming.
Truely!
Nice im only playing my old uncle electric guitar
Old electric guitars have the best mojo!
So cute!!
It was a great day for him, and the start of something great. Thanks for visiting!
Thank you for posting this! I've always wanted a thorough look of the inside of the house, specifically the den.
You're welcome! Glad you found it to you're liking. When you see the tour guide pointing to the colorful chair in that den, he was telling us about how Reagan was in that chair on the phone while dealing with the Challenger shuttle disaster phone calls.
Way to go!!!
Thank you Mrs. M. I had a great time playing all week. Thank you for watching.
Nice!
Thanks! It's great to have you visit. Glad you enjoyed the video.
James is a natural!
Thanks, he's been having fun practicing for this big week of camp.
Awesome job & looks fun!
James says it was super fun! We miss you guys!
Miss you guys too!
I love seeing him play!
he doing great up there!
James says, "Thank You!" And thanks for visiting!
Awesome! Nice job!
Thanks, it sure has been a fun week playing.
He could have rode off to the ranch in the sky after the governor stint and enjoyed his golden years in peace and comfort, but he loved his country more. I miss you my friend and am looking forward to seeing and being around you in heaven, thanks for all you did for us all.
Thanks for visiting. He's definitely one I'd like to look up when I get there.
Nice guitar man I play the same thing man
Thanks, it’ll always be one of my favorites.
My company does the security of this estate. Very beautiful, very simplicit, nothing overly fancy just relaxing quiet and quite a ways away from population (always a good thing lol) What's cool is his estate is surrounded by country then you drive off property and on the other side of the bridge is the pacific ocean/Beach. He had it all without needing some crazy extravagance
Thanks for visiting and thanks for the insight. I'm envious that you get to visit as much as you do. Make sure to put us at the top of the list if you ever need a mountain bike patrol! 😁
Beautiful to live there. Very idyllic location. Very likeable, down-to-earth style of living, says a lot about the people who lived there if they were able to have private life. 👍🤗 Music ist cool, fits the movie well. 👌
It sure was beautiful! Thanks for the nice comments.
@@SonsofThunderRolling It was my pleasure.☺️
I wish there wasn’t music.
If wishes were horses then beggars would ride, If turnips were swords I’d have one by my side. If ‘ifs’ and ‘ands’ were pots and pans There would be no need for tinker’s hands!
This is a beautiful sight
Thank you very much. I just took a quick moment to peek at your channel. Enjoyed Maggie's performance. Tell her that James may be needing a lead singer/songwriter in a few years ;-)
@@SonsofThunderRolling lol thank you!
@@SonsofThunderRolling how was your experience with the squire mini? Did it hold tune well enough?
@@GeoffNelson It needed a decent setup for sure for semi-serious play. It stayed in tune fine as it is a hardtail (no tremolo). The short scale and the big frets however will push the strings sharp if you press too hard. It needs a light touch. Not necessarily a bad thing for smaller hands.
@@SonsofThunderRolling thanks for the honest appraisal!
Jars of clay! Great choice. Great choice in bikes too
Thanks on both accounts. He's moved on to a bigger bike now, but he did it reluctantly. He hated to leave behind his beloved Riprock, but he refused to stop growing. 😉
rad ♥️
This kid is going places… idk where but somewhere big
James, I am a little bit speechless... You are INCREDIBLE!!! So much talent! How did you know how much I love Fleetwood Mac and drawings from nature!?! The Etch-a-Sketch drawings are completely out of this world! Mine did not look anywhere nearly that good when I was your age. Don't forget me when you are famous :-). KEEP UP THE AMAZING WORK, and you will go so far!
Thank you. I really enjoy being in your class and learning all the new styles. If you like Fleetwood Mac there's another one on this channel if you look. See you Friday.
This kid is good! I really enjoyed seeing his excitement getting this really cool video!
Thanks! You should see him now. Check out his "Boston: Peace of Mind" video to see his progress.
