❤❤sit at my table😅
Love seeing this show again. This is the jacket Daddy wore at the Ryman Opry visiting.😍
Such memories. In 60s I kinda kept it secret that I watched and loved the Porter Wagoner Show. I guess I was on the hip trip. Truth is, this is great!
Why does Bucks banjo sound like a guitar?
was real nice thank you...
3:59 this is an incredible performance considering how much that room was spinning. Look at George's eyes. Different time....different man.
Not sure that Porter knew that Dolly WAS the star.
Green Green grass of home
Damn I'm old
Love Porter
406 South Main Sylacauga Alabama
Always despised him. Looks dirty.
My Gandmother loved the Porter Wagoner show!!! with Lawrence Welk in 2nd..... George Jones and Merle Haggard helped me survive Vietnam with Hendrix and the Doors and Creedence.....
Does anyone know who Howard was? Was he the steel guitar player? Great show from '62
I've been a fan of Porter Wagoner and Hank Snow for many years I have a lot of their albums
Love it but Dolly lost that innocent county when she ran to Holly Wood with her high heels on!!
Porter Wagoner was from a town in southern Missouri called West Plains and was a member of the Grand Ole Opry.
That rocky top version was terrible
Buck Trent, rest his soul, was a musician who was Years ahead of his time.
Wow! Apparently young Miss Dolly hadn’t finished developing at that time.
Not enough chicken with hormones.
Hank Snow had a lot of success with the song I'm movin on and that helped him become a member of the Grand Ole Opry.
Was George banging Tammy at that time?
I actually went to a show where George showed up but left after 3 songs and blamed his band , THE JONES BOYS for messing it all up . But I was there and the band was perfect !!!
Damn, that was wrong.
If that's not the GAYEST BUNCH !!! They look straight from San Francisco !!
Just don't vote for the Valley Girl 2024.
I love this. Thanks for sharing. We didn't have color TV in 1968 so I didn't know how "loud" the colors were.
George liked his sauerkraut and sow belly, but was thin back then. Of course, Dolly was younger like all of us. But I preferred the more natural look. Stuff like this gave Ronnie Wood the idea to play pedal steel guitar on Stones' albums.
Is that George Jones or Jim Carrey?
I know that Miss Parton had just started out on the show the year before. However, in hindsight, it's a bit much that she and the guest star George Jones not only sang no songs together but also didn't speak or interact and would only appear together oncamera during the closing credits. She obviously wasn't shy so I'm wondering if Mr. Wagoner didn't want to chance Mr. Jones . .asking Miss Parton for a date, etc.? Of course, it was totally Mr. Wagoner's show and call who got to sing/chat with whom during the show's shooting -and it would be several years before he became confident enough to have Miss Parton being the show's co-hostess instead of just 'the little lady' who sang duets with him and some of her solo songs.
Thanks so much IanThatGuyyFilms for sharing these shows with us !
Theres one thing for certain there will never be another Dolly Parton !!!!💗💗💗
Ole Buck always amazed me with the way he played the banjo
The Louvin Brothers , my dad loved this I have a cd of the louvin brothers greatist hits
My Mom didnt like Mr Speck everytime we watch this she say I cant stand that man. LOL
Yeehaw !!!!
I clicked cause I thought Jim Carey was playing guitar haha
buck trent and that electric banjo priceless!!!!
This brings back so many memories.
I love dolly!!;
I was13 then in 1967
He is real.😊
Ole George had some range in that voice
That banjo playing is off the charts!😮😅
That’s an electric banjo invented by Eddy Peabody
everyone on this show is so talented. The folks nature of the music belies how good everyone actually is.
Ive never heard banjo like that! Really sounds like a pedal steel. Amazing that he can detune and then come right back to pitch. Masterful playing.
Nice haircuts too!
Him and Tammy lived in my hometown in Lakeland, Florida. Geoge had so many DUI's that he couldnt drive. He tookhis riding mower to the liquor store and got another DUI on the mower. A high school friend was the cop. HAHAHA
I live about two miles from George and Tammy’s two story house(mansion) on 540A Once in a while a lawn mower can be seen going down the road. 😂
@@TomSpeaks-vw1zp 🎵He stopped ridden lawn mowers today, Oh he's mowing Jesus's lawn they say..🎵
@@joeneighborHe sure ain't driving his Limo.
@@oldsalt8011 Can work that into the lyrics.
Jim carrey 😜
I have a flat top like George. The chicks love it.
Real country music. What's called country music today is only CMINO, Country Music In Name Only.
You got that right. It's embarrassing that they still call it country.
It’s soft rock with country stylings.
Yes, I read about Ol" George grabing Porter by the manhood in the bathroom lmao. Tammy related.
