Just spent over an hour getting down the patterns to get the gold gem here, and I agree with you that the third phase is by far the trickiest/most random phase. Also, just like you, I found constantly jumping in that phase was the best way to bait the openings I needed. At least I consider this decent prep for the Elden Ring DLC this week. 😂

this video captures a minor bug! marina's healthbar portrait does a little animation when she takes damage, and when the player grabs the missile that finishes the fight, since they had taken damage just before, the animation gets stuck partway through.

The first anime club i ever walked into in 1993 was held in the film theater of a major library and this episode was one of them. I had never seen it before... and I was crying watching it. I would eventually see wings of honneomise in the art-house theaters in my city. And as much as I love Evangelion, these two works will forever be GIANX's Magnum opus in my mind.

Great boss fight, but I feel that the final boss fight with Golden Silver in Gunstar Heroes also by Treasure tops this, since it gives off a "OH CRAP!" feeling when you discover that your attacks doesn't seem to affect him at all, until you figure out the gems are his weakness. But he still manages to give you absolute hell, especially on Expert Mode. And the music gives off that feeling of dread like you're facing the physical incarnation of the apocalypse itself.
