Well… how about an actual contrafact? "Oregon, our Alma Mater, We will guard thee on and on, Let us gather 'round and cheer her, Chant her glory, Oregon! Roar the praises of her warriors, Sing the story, Oregon, On to vict'ry, urge the heroes Of our Mighty Oregon!"

This game, a loss at home to unranked Oklahoma State, cost Mizzou a chance for a BCS bowl game that year. I was so angry during and after this game.
This video is really really great fun and I love it
The universities of Missouri, Kansas, Indiana, Indiana State, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, William and Mary, Emory, and countless others, including Cornell, have used the tune of "Annie Lisle," a popular ballad of the 19th century, written in 1852. Cornell used it first in 1870, and others followed. Dozens and dozens of American high schools use it as well.

Just looked at the other comments to see that this point has already been brought up quite a few times haha.
The tune is Annie Lisle, but Cornell was the first of many schools to use the tune!

why is this copyrighted, CZcams? great song
Missouri had the most classless band and team ive ever seen play navy. instead of standing behind navy after the alma mater, as is custom, they marched off to the locker room. as for the band, while navy was playing their alma mater, missouri began blaring their fight song like classless idiots
That was fun! at 3:45 Im the white one moving to the sound!
Awesome video! Great job! =)
wut man
lets see 1000 tubas next year....
That was so much fun :D So glad I got to go this year!
"Luck Be a Lady" is a song written by Frank Loesser in 1950 and first performed by Robert Alda. The song was featured in the musical Guys and Dolls. The lyrics relate the point of view of a gambler, Sky Masterson who hopes that he will win a bet, the outcome of which will decide whether or not he is able to save his relationship with the girl of his dreams. Marlon Brando sang the song in the 1955 film version.
mizzou's drumline is damn good.
I WAS THERE!!! I LIVE IN ST. LOUIS.
@kissfan34567 While I am a die hard Missouri Tiger I must also dispute this false claim. First of all The University of Missouri was founded in 1839. Secondly, with much pain I must admit that The University of Kansas adopted the tune of "Annie Lisle" in 1891 while we adopted it in 1895. However, this is not our fight song. Our fight songs are "Every True Son" and "Fight Tiger." "Every True Son" is modeled after the WWII song "It's A Long Way to Tipperary" then the chant, then "Fight Tiger."
@FanofMarchingMizzou Actually, the tune is called "Annie Lisle." It was a ballad written by H.S. Thompson. The song is about a young heroin whose untimely death is caused by tuberculosis. Cornell was the first College/University to adopt the tune and add their own lyrics to construct their alma mater.
Need credits for the faceless tuba players
@view4evah: If your young person is still in Marching Mizzou, they are doing a new DVD and CD this season. I'll be getting a couple copies of it :-)
Magnificent band and much appreciated that you posted this! (and all your videos!)
@michelesylver: I have two other vids of Hey Baby: One was from the Black and Gold game, and one leads off the spirit music portion of this years Concert on the Quad.
I have a better microphone this year, and I've learned how to use it better. The band has dropped Stars and Stripes Forever from the pregame. Dr Snow, like Dr Knight before him, is an M2 alum, and both bleed black and gold.
Is it just me or does the band sound different this year? Everything is a little quicker. Not a good or bad thing, just an observation. I know they have a new director, wasn't sure if he's changed arrangements or anything.
What a wonderfully talented group of individuals. This performance is a salient representation of not only the creativity of our contemporaries, but the roots of American culture which lie in the music and dance of our nation. I just wish Glenn didn't smell.
This is awesome!
Thats our colors ! lol Goose Creek High School ! GO Gators !
In case you didn't ever know this, both the University of Missouri and the University of Kansas adopted the tune of "Old Cornell" as their alma mater.
Too bad for you that I am a retired Field Artillery officer. The best march there is is the Fifth Field Artillery's Regimental march. The rest of the world knows it as The Caisson Song. BG Edmund L Gruber wrote it; Sousa enshrined it.
Good song + I like, 'achor's aweigh' alot too. Go Navy Beat Army :)
