Hello everyone, I'm Joel Syquia and welcome to my channel!
I believe that motorcycle adventures and the deepening of one's faith can coincide with each other, as people explore life and meaning through various means that allow them direct access to nature and the world. In my case, I dove into the world of motorcycling as a way to find balance among the professional, family, personal and spiritual aspects of my life. It's been an amazing journey ever since and I never looked back, because the more I experienced the beauty of nature and the richness of individual acquaintances, the more my faith in God's providence deepened.
I created this channel with the help of my 12-year-old daughter on February 14, 2021; and through it, I hope to share some of my exciting adventures and discoveries with you, as we ride together to experience the wonders that this world has to offer... particularly in my country, the Philippines!

Family Matters: Skiing at Furano, in Hokkaido, Japan
Hi everyone, I'm Joel Syquia and this is a different kind of episode, because I take my family to Furano, which is in the ski paradise of Hokkaido, Japan, to revive our annual ski holiday tradition. We haven't done this family activity since the pandemic back in 2020, and our last one was back in 2019. We stayed at Shin Furano Prince Hotel, which is a lovely ski-in ski-out hotel with several good restaurants and a quaint winter village. The ski resort was wonderful with lots of courses that are divided between two ski zones at different sides of Mt. Furano, namely the Furano and Kitanomine zones.
Furano was such a blast... even for amateur skiers like us!

Great bike. I have the 900 GT Pro. I wanted the low due to my height (5'3'') but was out of stock. But i have gotten used to the Tiger Gt Pro. Thanks for sharing your video.
@@CoolMotoRider Congratulations on successfully managing the GT Pro! I myself would've gotten the Pro but I found it intimidating back then.

I've been in Santa Maria twice... but I missed seeing that pathway going to the old chapel. Something to look forward to the next time I visit up North. Great vlog!

Thank you hope to visit soon God bless us lord
God bless din po! And thank you so much din 🙏
Great vid! Thank you. Was the steep course around 9:00 Link Run C? I'm thinking of going to Furano and I'm trying to learn about it. How long and when were you there?
Thanks a lot! 👍 The steep slope (at least for me) was the link between the Furano and Kitanomine zones. I think it's labelled H1 in the ski map. It's tagged as a blue slope, but it felt like a red to me (I'm sure due to my below average ski level 😃 ). It was steeper than all the other blues in the resort. One particular blue piste I loved was G3, coz of its constant steepness (its at 10:12 ). They closed it later that day for a competition actually. We went at the tail end of February and spent an entire week there. Totally enjoyed it. The reviews are correct in that it's not as crowded as other resorts, though the restaurants had limited operating times, which meant that you just couldn't ski into one outside lunchtime for a quick snack 🙂
Cool. Thank you. Yes H1 was the course I thought you were on. It looks a bit steep for me too, but it's required to ski from mountain to mountain I guess. I see what you mean about G3 staying consistent - until it flattens out when it joins the green courses. The great snow and small crowds makes the end of February quite attractive. Interesting comment about the restaurants - I'll keep that in mind. I saw your comment about liking the hotel. That's good to know too. Thanks
Magkano po ang bayad sa pagsakay sa bangka balikan idol?
Hello po. Di ko maalala kasi kasama yun bangka sa nakuha naming tour package.
Awesome review brother! I’m from Mexico and with your video, I’ve decided to purchase the 900 GT low version! I’m 5’7 and I’ve been struggling with bigger bikes like the GS 1250! Now I’m going for the 900 GT low! Thank you and keep it up! 😊
Thanks a lot for your kind comment and I'm glad the video could be of help. I believe they've improved the Tiger 900 from the version I had and so I'm sure yours will be even much better! Ride safe 👍

Hi mate. How would you compare tiger 900 to 1250gs? It is 2 bikes i am considering to buy. Thanks for advice and happy anniversary.
Thanks a lot for your greeting! I certainly love both the 1250 GS and Tiger, but comparing both at this stage of my riding, I do have my personal fave. Speaking only about the Tiger 900 GT (low), I respect that it got me to an ideal comfort-level in terms of riding motorbikes. I like that it isn't that heavy and it could keep up with larger cc bikes on the road. However, I dropped it a lot offroad. I had difficulties with its aggressive throttle response (noting that it's the GT version) and it felt a bit top heavy for me. The GS is certainly heavier, but I feel more confident leaning it further down in corners and it feels lighter to ride offroad. I feels more balanced. As for the sound of the engine and exhaust, some people don't like that of the GS, but I actually love its low grunt compared to the Tiger. So yeah, at this point, I prefer the 1250 GS over the Tiger 900 GT, but I heard that the newer Tiger 900 has made some improvements.
Thanks you. I appreciate that. I think I will go with gs :) @@MotoFaith
Happy 3rd anniversary! May Mama Mary and St. Michael protect you always in your journeys. All the best! BTW I love kwek-kwek and fishball 🤩

Great video. Thank you so much. I'm picking up a 900 Tiger GT Pro next week. I'm 5' 5" with a 28 inch inseam. I sat on the 900 LRH model that you reviewed and it felt great. I found a GP Pro for sale with only 984 miles on it. Perfect condition. Since it was a private sale within the state (Arizona), I didn't have to pay sales tax, and as a private sale there was no freight, setup charge, etc. that a dealer would add. Since I need to low ride height of the LRH model, I'm investing in the LRH seat, and a set of Lust Racing lowering links. These two mods bring the GT Pro down to the same ride height as your LRH model. Thank you again for an excellent video.
Thanks a lot and I'm glad you liked the video. The LRH is suprisingly low for an ADV... 770mm if I'm not mistaken. To have that height on a GT Pro is great! Congratulations!

@@MotoFaith in the mid to late 70’s I used to ride a CB500 four all over and many roads were not paved in those days. When the “enduros” came out in the late 70’s we got a KE100 Kawasaki it just changed everything for me and my brothers (we all ride)
Don't you ride an Africa Twin now? How does it compare with other ADVs? My colleague Mirko also rides an AT. 👍
@@MotoFaith yes, I do ride a 2018 Africa Twin and it’s pretty basic bike with only switchable (rear) ABS and 4 position traction control, which I normally put off. I feel it’s 270 crank cycle is what makes it a great bike to ride on dirt roads and poor traction conditions, the pulses are just well timed instead of the ripping power of the KTM’s and such. Before this bike I was basically riding big bore single cylinder bikes and again these bikes provide tractable power. I stepped up to a twin for a smoother ride and chose an adventure style bike for wind and weather protection with upright (comfort) touring seating position. My wife used to ride pillion with me too so the space was nice. But as I’ve grown older and my wife is not riding with me anymore, also I find myself riding solo more, am looking to downsize to lighter bike

Amazing video as always, Atty. More power po.
Thanks so much!! I miss Vigan already
I wonder why the Spanish development went north from Cebu rather than south towards the Indies?
I guess it was partly because Intramuros was then the main city and Vigan was also a trading port. Zamboanga also has strong Spanish influence because it was a port, but then as you said it never really spread in that region. Maybe because of the strong Moro presence?
