Liberty or Death
From PBS: A brief history of the colonial times leading up to the Second Virginia Convention at Henrico Parish Church (now St. John's) in Richmond, Virginia which took place in March 1775. It includes a re-enactment of the convention which included Patrick Henry's famous "Liberty or Death Speech" on March 23, 1775. The speech begins at the 36:00 mark. Patrick Henry is played splendidly by Kevin McGranahan.

Ford Truck is Ford Tough in Mr. Majestyk
zhlédnutí 1,9MPřed 15 lety
A pair of 1968 Ford F-Series Pickups were used in the 1974 movie Mr. Majestyk starring Charles Bronson, the late Linda Cristal, and Al Leiteri. At least one of the two trucks was seriously abused - but they were still kicking ass at the end! That's "Ford Tough!" Some of this scene was used in a Ford truck commercial a couple of years later (1976) and in that commercial it states that the truck ...
That F100 is one of the world’s greatest uncredited cast members.
They made the car chase scene look real. No bullshit effects and CGI like what The Fast and Furious did
In the movie "Mr. Majestyk," the Ford Truck is portrayed as being Ford Tough. This means that the truck is strong, durable, and capable of handling tough conditions and tasks. Throughout the movie, the Ford Truck is shown enduring various challenges, such as off-road driving, hauling heavy loads, and even being involved in action-packed chase scenes. Its toughness and reliability are highlighted, showcasing the truck's ability to withstand demanding situations. Therefore, the Ford Truck in "Mr. Majestyk" exemplifies the brand's reputation for producing robust and dependable vehicles.
Legend has it that late at night you can still see the ghost of this truck and Charles Bronson jumping ravines in the desert
Wonder how many trucks they used in this chase alone
I read: They used two for the entire movie. I've watched this several times and it appears that they switch trucks in some of the scene. On the flip side were they just switching parts? Tires, bumpers, etc. For example when she turns right onto the dirt road and stops that truck has different rims and tires than the one she started out in. Also one truck has red oxide primer on the roof. Headlight broken then fixes itself?
@@bbigjohnson069 I know I noticed at one point the inside was painted blue but they never just switched parts when she turned and jumped into that field that truck was demolished and sold for scrap there's no 2 ways about it and at the begining of the chase when she jumps into the field and cuts back on the road that truck might have been fixable but more than likely it bent the frame and destroyed the body
@@RedRider763 There's a comment on here by a relative of Linda Cristal who says that she did much of the driving and that they used one truck for all the hard driving and the other one for the easy driving. The scene where the truck breaks through that gate and goes high in the air could be deceiving. Much can be done with camera angles etc. This truck looks like it has a roll bar in it. The moved the fuel tank from behind the seat to into the bed and used a different filler neck. Did you notice after Majestyk takes over driving running roughshod over the mountain that the same shots are repeated just shown using a different camera positioned lower and closer to where the truck passes by. When the car flips over on the highway the smoke coming from the bottom is from an explosive charge that flips the car over. When he shoves the car over the edge you can see a wire attached to the front of the car. We've all seen cars explode like that too right? Gasoline actually has more energy than TNT but it doesn't explode like that.
If you look on my homepage you will see a picture of my truck which is almost a carbon copy of the one in the movie.
@@bbigjohnson069 I'm sure your right but there's no way they jumped that truck far at all and not destroyed it even the first jump when she is in the driveway would Have destroyed it and they don't really have the camera angle in a hiddy place there
Tunnel Drive in Canon City, Colorado.
Canon City was one of 3-4 Colorado cities they filmed in.

Best Ford commercial Ford never made.
They used clips from this scene in a commercial.
Right, I remember them. They should dust them off and reuse them.@@bbigjohnson069
Forget about Ford tough, how about bronson tough, being able to stay in the bed of the truck while it was abused like that; a normal human would probably be nothing but a bag of broken bones after those first few leaps (yeah i know its just a film)
Stuntman
Mouth Breather. Get a clue.
Refute my point with some facts or are you just a media brown noser? This is your guy. What a joke! czcams.com/video/THVFZFw8jOA/video.html
Goldurn Ford right there man I'll tell you what man that things Ford tough man that ain't no Chevy or Dodge man that thing right there is a Ford right there and it's tough so it's Ford tough yup good ol Ford.
WHOA! We need a truck like that so we can get all the chicks! YEAH YEAH then we'll score! It's really gonna happen! BOINGGGG!
Does that Ford F100 had an inline 6 or V8?
Consensus on here is a 6cyl.
My best friend's daddy had a 1967 F-100. After he saw that movie, he thought HE was Charles Bronson!!!! I vividly remember him picking me up to go over to his sister's house one day. Next thing I know he cuts down a dirt road that I didn't know. I said I thought you were going to your sister's??? He said I am. WATCH THIS!! Next thing I know we're doing 80 down this dirt road. Dust going 30 feet in the air. Rocks popping off the bottom of the truck and off the drive shaft. I am hanging on for dear life--no seat belts. I can feel the truck fish tailing. He's just laughing like a hyena and keeps on going. We meet cars and they disappear in the cloud of dust. We pass by this house sitting on the side of the road and people are flying inside shutting doors and windows. We covered the house in dirt. I told him that he'd better get his ass to his sister's house and hide this damn truck because they have done called the law on our ass!!! He for once listened and hid the truck in their chicken house. Thirty minutes later the sheriff's deputies came riding by wanting to know if we saw a white Ford truck. I said yeah! It went that way like a bat out of hell putting dust 50 feet up in the air! They left and I looked at him and said told you so!!! He just laughed! His sister carried us home and later that night I brought him over to get the truck!
What happened to the truck?
TruckS, SSS, plural. There were 2 of them. One did all the jumps and grunt work. The other was the one they showed Bronson driving. Don't know what happened to either. Edit: It looks like both trucks took part in the "abuse" scenes. Maybe one more than the other. One truck has the gas tank mounted in the truck bed rather than behind the seat. Tank can be seen when camera close ups Bronson in the bed. Certainly this was done for safety reasons. The filler neck cutout in the cab has a block off plate which can be seen in another shot. It looks like this truck may also have a roll bar but I can't be certain. It has a black steering wheel. The other truck has a blue wheel with a bright trim horn ring and bar. The gas tank is still in the original position behind the seat. This truck is used to "push" the car off the cliff. The filler neck and gas cap can be seen in their original positions in this shot. This truck has a large brown primer spot on the top of the cab.
@@bbigjohnson069 Thanks man, I never thought I'd get a reply. Those jumps are so cool, there's a Chev stuck in a ditch at the start, really funny. They had to prove their trucks in those days and they were built tough.
Jesus ….. now that’s a tough truck !! Even tougher was the crazy bastard who was in the box during this whole fiasco lol
They sure don't build cars like that anymore.
Sounds like a 300
The greatest speech ever given by the greatest PATRIOT of all time we need more Patrick Henrys in this day and age to resist the terany of the federal government being imposed on our citizens today
That’s why I drive a Ford
This is the movie Sylvester Stallone should remake.
"Charles Bronson" and "subtle" are two concepts that shall never cross paths.
Wao,this lady can fly
And that is why people like Ford trucks!
Explosion looked like a NBC Dateline episode!
whys the gas tank in the bed?
I'm sure they moved it there for safety reasons. It's normally mounted in the cab behind the seat.
Amazing movie clip, really great 🙏
Thank you.
Uncle Jesse's truck.
Built Ford Tough, RIP Charles Bronson.
Merci
2 wheel drive putting in some work!
After this they drove their cars to "the car wash "!!!
Is this the predecessor to the Raptor?
👍🏽👌🏾💖😎
That was a decent Ford commercial.
Ford actually used clips for a truck commercial back then,it's on here. They did it with 2 trucks, one took a real beating and the other was lightly hammered on😅😅
Just the ford can do this
FORD BODY ON A CHEVY CHASSIS'S 😆
