@@MarrafaCycling Those songs don't fit the mood. Almost anything from Hans Zimmer works. Try "Supermarine" from the DUNKIRK sountrack at the 15:00 mark. I am playing your video on mute at that time stamp with Supermarine playing on another CZcams window and it works! Try "Home" from that same soundtrack, and time it so that the end of the race matches the end of the song. it really works!!!

There are always questions about which tyres are best, the competitions are always different, in Aachen it's a fast course and actually not very gravelly, but there are some sections. I'm happy with the 35mm SCHWALBE G-ONE. But I've done several competitions with 33mm X One tyres and they've worked, but they're not the fastest and you'll have to go tubeless. 40mm is a very good option. See you in Aachen!

@@MarrafaCycling Thank you for your ansewer! Of cause you will get lots of different opinons on which tyre to choose. I‘m not the fastest anyway. So I think I choose comfort and puncture resistance and will go for the offered 40mm Conti Terra.

@CharlesWestinghill indeed it was less then 2 bars, I realised I had a crack in the wheel and the air was going through.

@@MarrafaCycling what wheels are you running? I use either a pair of Assault carbon tubeless or a pair of DT Swiss also tubeless. Damn, cracking the rim is not a nice thing but clearly it can happen. Speed is high and the risk of hitting something hard is high since it is really hard to see past riders in front of you. I wonder why Van Aert had such a major problem. Maybe something similar?

@@CharlesWestinghIII I was using aluminium Dt Swiss tubeless. now I've got some carbon wheels. another game, more comfortable, lighter, faster. I hope that next year we'll cross paths in one of the competitions. Great rides!

J'ai utilisé des pneus Pirelli Centurato H. 35mm, ils sont très rapides.

I stopped twice during the race😅How was with you?

@@MarrafaCycling It was good. But entering the local loop from the big one, they stopped me for the pro's. There weren't any, so after 1.5 minute, they let us through. In the rules was mentioned when you where doubled, tyou could not do your last loop, but they didn't stop me at the finish.

@@MTBJurgen but that rule of the organisation stopping you because de pro's I find not a good idea. I was DNF but no surprise it was a off day for me.

That was a very strange move indeed. However, unclipping a foot on the inner side of sketchy corners is quite common in cyclocross.

@@peterzsohar3297 Yea, i've done that too. Although I must say that it never served me much. Picking a better line is usually the better answer. But there are exceptions!

I've always taken them, but this time I decided not to and to trust the tubeless new tyres completely. I realised afterwards that the loss of air was due to a crack in the wheel and then I blew the valve. But yes, next time I'll take an inner tube with me again.

Yeah good question? It seems The UCI still doesn’t know understand what gravel is.

I was there and for me it was 25 % gravel, 25% downhil mtb and 50 % cyclocross....first an last time for me.

@@ringoschryers I think the UCI is still lost as to what is Gravel or MTB. They're not ready yet. I don't think Houffa Gravel will change the route next year. But MTB will probably no longer be allowed.

To me, gravel is every road possible. I like the curveballs thrown at you in a race. It makes it so that people with different strengths and different setups can have a go at it.

I participated. That was a hard race. Highest relative effort score on Strava ever since I started recording in 2013. First two laps felt like a cyclocross race but double the time. Last loop was ok but then energy was was almost empty. Came in #23 in my age group and outside qualifying for the UCI World Championship despite averaging +30 km/hr. Much harder than the WC race in Vicenza in 2022
