Gorgeous does not cover how pretty that quilt is!! I'm making stockings for my daughter's. Do you have any tips on securing the stitches for functional finishes? I'm nervous my stitches will come loose after one machine wash.
@@theokiestitcher The way I secure my stitches is to run the needle under 5 to 6 stitches then turn the needle skip the last stitch you just ran under and run the needle back under the 5 stitches. I wash pretty much everything I stitch and all my threads have stayed anchored.
@@UntwistyourStitches I wrote that down in my Book of Days. Thank you for the tip! I've been wanting to do more with my stitching but I have always worried about the stitches coming loose.

That is a very silly thing for your friend to get upset about. She was also unnecessarily aggressive, demanding to come to your house and take over. It doesn't matter how you count them. There's no Stitching IRS. Keep your records how ever you want.

Now I know the reset except if you get the rest after the 4th. We have been told that folks leaving this area have trouble finding moving help and now I know that is true. Oh my my my.
I am so sorry about your moving troubles! Two of our new neighbors here in Orofino had the exact same issue and are doing the haul it yourself in a zillion trips method.
It is so crazy. I know this is not a super populated area, but if you make a contract, you should honor it, not make so many excuses.

I have to laugh - my 3 daughter-in-laws have informed me that all my ‘junk’ is going to the goodwill or to the bonfire when I’m gone…..I appreciate their honesty and it makes me love and enjoy my ‘junk’ even more while I’m here…..I’m an old odd duck myself but enjoy watching all kinds of needlework flosstubes - so happy I found you❣️❤️❤️❤️

good morning, your fully finishes are beautiful. I have a couple of questions. Did you stitch in hand for the bags? so intricate looking I am not a long time stitcher was it hard or just inconvenient? Do you quilt as well?
So the bags are a bit fiddly to work. You have to start at the bottom and work your way up. So the pattern is always upside down. Or at least that is how I did it. Yes I stitched in hand that was not bad. I would not call myself a quilter. But I have done quilting.

Fellow flosstuber. My opinion is it’s your project, your rules. I am planning on starting 4 seasonal projects. They are from 4 leaflets but I am calling them 1 WIP. My project, my rules. 🤓 The WIP Warrior group claims that to be apart of their annual stitching group the project must have 200 stitches. That is the only time I’ve seen anyone put a number to a WIP. However, I see many stitchers call a project a WIP if floss and thread have met. I think this too is a personal interpretation. I usually stitch full coverage projects and like to have at least 1,000 stitches in my projects before I move on. Personally I don’t care what anyone else thinks. 😜 Overall, there are no rules in cross stitching. This is a hobby and I hope it’s one you can continue to enjoy. 💜 elisa

Hi Rose. Where do i start firstly this is your hobby so you do what makes you happy. For me a WIP is once you've started making crosses on your fabric its a WIP. The reason the person mentioned 200 sts is some groups on Facebook use that as a foundation for a WIP for example WIP Warriors Facebook group uses this. I wouldn't worry what other people think. If there are a number of items in a series, each one will be a separate WIP if you are stitching each as a separate item (no matter the number of stitches.) After all it is a hobby for most of us so feel free to have your own rules!! However I do think it's good manners to use the full term when first using an "in house" abbreviation eg I'm going to show my WIPS or Works in Progress ... going to my Local Needlework Shop or LNS. Then any newbie will understand what the heck you are talking about 😃
I love seeing your projects! Whatever you say is a WIP is a WIP! I think you are 100% correct! I don’t understand why anyone would challenge you on that issue.
