Loving the build-out. Working on getting mine set up. Gonna try that Corbin seat. Really looking for something that can run 500+mile day trips. Great video! Hope the trip goes well. After rewatching, did you like the stock Battlewings that look to be installed?
sweet !!!
Sweet Bike !
Ok. Many bloggers show their upgrades at some kind of shops. Do You own the shop, or do You rent time in the shop, maybe it is a club's shop. How is it working?
I just picked up a PDM 60, and I’m excited to install it on my T7, though I have to admit, I’m a bit green when it comes to wiring stuff on the bike. The circuit wires are pretty straight forward, but I’m curious about how you went about connecting the ignition and ground trigger wires on your T7.
Hopefully the doomflu didn't get in the way.
is this constant power any time the bike is running or can you connect to the high beam switch?
OI!
buon giorno a parte il solito fusibile da 10 amp per le luci , dove è collocato il relè delle luci ? perchè il fusibile è buono ma le luci del faro anteriore non si accendono
Anyone know what that empty connector he mentions at 1:26 is for and what type connector is it?!?!? I wanted to order the pigtail but they wanted $16 to ship it so Im thinking $40 is a bit much...... I'll come up with another solution.
What does it switch with? Ignition? Hi beams?
Great video sir, really enjoyed the commentary and just thoroughness!
How can I buy this connectors
How much fid your mods run you roughly. Im in Montgomery Texas and getting a t7 in November and love your set up!! Thanks
The shorter of the two bar clamps they ship is too short. As you can see it doesn't allow the bolt to grab the nylok portion of the nut to engage. I replaced these bolts with a slightly longer bolt, problem solved.
Where do you go? Your vids inspired me to get a T7. I’ve done 2 BDRS and 16k miles all over the place. Thanks for that, hope you make more vids one day.
You should always use a new crush washer. If not it’s easier to strip the threads. Plenty of people have done it, according to people in the tenere 700 forum. Many claim that Yamaha’s torque spec for the oil drain plug is a misprint. They claim that it is too high. According to them other bikes supposedly only require 12-16 ft-lbs. But based on two dealer mechanics at two different dealers I’ve been to, they say that the manual is correct and that is what they use. As a former aviation tech, I religiously use a torque wrench, even on the body plastic panels. If there is a spec in the manual, that is what I use. I say that because in that forum I had some guy who supposedly has a shop and their torque wrenches are calibrated, and have stripped the threads using the Yamaha specs. Unless a torque wrench is calibrated, it’s impossible to know if it’s good. Even when new. There are videos of people testing new torque wrenches of various prices and they are not as good as they seem. Anyhow, I was told is that you MUST use a new washer every time. Also, it’s funny how the torque wrench clicked and you kept going some more. Something I often see people do. Not criticizing, I’ve done it myself. Not anymore though.
Hmm, question, why use the PDM60 just for that and not connect the UBS adapter to the wiring that comes with the bike already? You did now that the white plug on the right side of the bike (At 3:45 is the plug to the right in your finger. It looks like in help with electrical tape) is the wiring for the accessory socket, right? I would had used that. It’s all wired and fuse and incorporated into the system of the bike already. Anyway, just a thought.
those r some old guy feet mods
Can you make me/us a favor ?? Can you tell the dimensions of oem handlebar of tenere 700?? i dont have the bike but im gonna buy it, but after a ride that i have i see that handlebar was litle low for me. So im thinking to say the dealer to instal some other handlebar before i buy it but i dont know what handlebar fit with cables of t7.. this handlebar , Protaper ATV High bars , do you thing that fit ??? i want the maximum height that i can go with no problem at cables.
Hey walter, I wanted to get into adventure riding and was curious if there are good trails in texas to keep the hobby going? I live in Dallas and frequent the Ft hood area so seeing that theres some stuff in SA gives me hope.
The connector you pointed out that’s the wrong shape, what is it used for? Do we know?
Walter, can you tell me what specific R&G tie down loops that you bolted up to replace the pillion footpegs and how it worked with the Outback Motortek pannier racks? Did you still use the two " C " shaped spaces that Outback Motortek provided?
Thinking I'd love this during those days when we get grid with Super Unlimiteds....ugh lol
torque setting for sum plug has been updated by yamaha .. 43nm thats way to tight .
Hi man I installed front blinkers but they have 3 wires.. Can you help me with the connection? I need some explanation about every wire
Thank you! 🙂
Walter where did you go?! Left us hanging after that New Mexico prep video.
Might be just me but it sounds like you've got far too much $$$$$$$
so clean...
I am curious , I have the V stream tall windshield and it is melting my 2019 tenere Dashboard. have you experience any melting on yours?
Suspension? Great video thanks
Not sure if you’ll reply! Did you have to flash the ecu or do any programming? Thanks in advance
Good day Walter do you remember the blue crash bars matches the rest blue parts of 2020 T7? Thank you.
I installed the exact system after watching your video. I too had the same Garmin camera as you and now it’s at least being used. The only snag is my camera keeps going to “sleep” during a session. Did you encounter this and if so how did you get around it. Thanks - great video.
Geez man, with all that added crap hanging off of it, just buy a freaking Jeep! WTH, Adventure bike used to be 'dual sports' and before that they were called Enduro's! Still a pig with lip stick...You are the chairman of the "More money that Brains" club. Have you bothred to try to pick it up by yourself?
Lone Star went out of business and their assets purchased by Ultimate Classic Cars, they now build an improved version of the LS427.
Great video, thank you. I changed from an 2006 GS to a 2017 Super Tenere. I’m interested in understanding more about your need to add the risers. Im tall and have found, after a few days, I get pain developing in the neck and tension in the back. I NEVER did with the GS. I’m wondering if this is why you did the risers and did it help? I’m 6’4”, btw. Great video again, and I look forward to watching more of your vids. Callum
I'm 5'11" I have risers on my 2017st they make a world of difference
Thanks a lot. I was searching a tutorial like yours to do the same thing on my yamaha xsr900. really nice job and thanks to sharing. See you from France 😉✌️
life saver vidoe mate.. thanks to you from Down Under...
wow
Hey Walter. Great video! Might you have any documentation you could share. I recently purchased a LSC427 but have absolutely no documentation. Its been al a big learning experience. Sharing what you can would be greatly appreciated.
Your BB clamps on the handlebar are mounted in the wrong position, left needs to go right and right needs to go left.
My T7 will arrive in January. Have plenty of time to upgrade it. Will do an Acerbis or the Australian? big tank. Several same or similar parts. Have you made a big trip to the north country yet. Live up that way Fairbanks in summertime.
I don’t know about the crash bars. The look great - but insn’t it a bad idea to fix them directly to the frame?
The givi look like darth vader helmet shape
What is the “select” switch on the right hand side?
Changes the display between odo, trips, mpg, water temp, air temp, etc
I sold my Super Tenere to big, to heavy, and clunky. Looking forward to buying a Tenere 700.
What happened to the video from the trip? Hope you’re ok and would love to see some more footage.
I've been saving up quite a while for this bike, eating rice and frying up spam digging holes on my day's off.. by golly!.. I reckon I'll have enough end of November. ~ charmed life
