I knew a very nice lady who died of CJD - she found it difficult to walk, 2 weeks later couldn't talk, 2 weeks later she was blind. She died within 10 weeks of first symptoms. Strangely, I had a phobia about Mad cow disease 20 years ago, the reality was much less scary, like Alzheimer's but 10 times quicker, which is definitely a better prognosis for the sufferer and their families. They are all incredibly scary illnesses though.
