On the ROI vs COI piece - what if what we're selling is not so tangible such as rev or profit or client increase and more around improved quality of relationships, intimacy, less stress, more space, time and ease. These arent so quantifiable so how would you apply the 'charge 1/10th' rule? Is this simply where COI comes in?

Is it possible to do this when just starting up?

Absolutely needed this. I've been working 4-5 hours a day for over a year as a freelancer (entirely client outreach, no marketing, minimal sales), but I've always carried this guilt that I need to be working 8 hours (coming from a tech startup prior), and keep thinking "how can I take on more work to fill my day?". Though my work is mentally intensive and highly creative, and any days I end up working 7-8 I feel exhausted and need a day to recover. Perhaps my thinking has been a bit backwards! Thanks a heap Dan

1. speak to their core beliefs 2. people need to be pre sold. 3. they must be dying to work w you 4. unique mechanism or model 5. more saturated the market is, more UM yur offer should have. 6. groups 7. put offer in some doc, pdf, notion etc.... dont just say offer. core identity. become known for UM speak to hot people not cold send pdf of offer answering anything. be cool. dont go after money. is this smth you wanna do? increase lifetime value.

I hear you and love what you're sharing. It all makes sense. But do you think that reaching that mind space of not needing a client requires you to actually have clients first? How can a person develop that when they lack money and continuing in their business depends on getting clients?

I’m in the MA community and still on here consuming the organic. Great stuff here Dan, thank you. Energetically I have found that I really align with what you have going on. It’s a breath of fresh air than what I’m used to.

I will continue to watch this but thank you much. It arrives at the right time where I just got ripped off by a customer/entrepreneur. I hate that. I tried to follow someone’s advice that leans on the « need » a client first which can lead to sell yourself for cheap and that’s exactly what happened. I think if I am confident with my value right off the bat I shouldn’t compromise.
