This is the first time we have put together a video like this so please excuse the choppy editing. A lot of the clips were of us laughing or moving locations so we've just had to work with what we got. Hopefully next time it'll be even better! Hi, Both rods are Borosilicate glass , the orange is an Opaque Orange in our Asian range and the clear is standard crystal clear rod
When you cut off a piece of rod in the flame it can produce little bubbles or issues in the glass so its best to pull off that trash end before working with it again. Especially with marbles you want to make sure you are always working with clean and clear glass.
Very true, thank you for your comment but in this video it didn't cause any bubbles so i carried on with the marble.
@@TeresaBlofeld hey, idk why the comments messed up that was actually a reply to the Russian comment asking why lampworkers pull off the end of rods so much.
@@TeresaBlofeld so this is you tho? This midrange is running on a 10lpm oxy con ya? I have been running a alpha with 10lpm and it's a real pain doing marbles over about an inch so trying to find the biggest flame I can, how big of a boro marble do you think could be comfortably made with this setup?
Don't know if you are still responding to your videos or not, but I recently got two 10lpm machines to run a Bethlehem Stacks setup, I'm guessing the balancing technique shown here would be the same? They are two different brands, so how would I determine which one is the stronger of the two, or do you just make one the 'stronger' one by adjusting the output? Hope that makes sense! I am going to be setting this up this week and I need to get an answer to this pretty quick if possible, thanks!!!
Hi, to balance your oxy-cons i would turn them on unconnected to the the torch and no hose attached , turn both up full by twisting the pressure gauge, when this stops turning turn 1 revolution back , look at both oxy-cons and see what lpm per minute they are running at. You will probably find that one is running at 9lpm and one lower or higher. This will show you which is the more powerful machine to help balancing.
@@TeresaBlofeld Thank you, I definitely don't want to damage the machines with some kind of backflow.
Until she realises the temu marbles are both cloudy AND easily chipped/scratched
You sound like TV Chef James Martin 😅
Truth!
The Bench bracket is not included with this kit. I've been on the site for hours looking!
Where can I get one of those hot head bench clamps?
Thank you for informative video
what's the size of the hollow pipe for blowing? do you sell it as well ? xx
don’t know why this hasn’t got more likes
Merry Christmas to u all tooxx
Excellent 😂❤
Hi Paul, I can't understand why you would want to buy a "Cheap" burner . We supply Nortel, Smiths & Bethlehem torches and there is a reason why we supply these as opposed to copies and badly made rip offs. The companies we stock have invested time and money in research and sourcing the best materials for the best job, creating a tool that will last and be safe. I am sure if you look hard enough Paul you will find a "Cheap" copy of a burner , when working with high pressure gas such as propane and oxygen why you would worry about using a knock off as they only explode once.
Awesome! Anybody knows if there is cheap burners like that? China?
❤
Very beautiful bead
Beautiful! But I did LOL at the state of the workbench: I thought I was messy, until now....😁 Happy Holidays to you all 🌺
Blessings for the Christmas season to you and your family and business. Lovely! 🌟🎄
I've never rated Magic because I've never got much colour from it, but maybe I need to try again, Teresa needs a mike, I can barely hear her above the torch.
I like Magic, it's the element of surprise 😊 I agree about the sound, too quiet, speaking too fast and really needs some form of didy on the camera.
I love Magic glass!
Для чого всі лампворкери, відщипують перший розплавлений шматочок скла, та викидають його? Чим та чому, він не влаштовує лампворкерів?
could you tell me what gas and oxygen you use for this torsh i believe this is a major nortel right ?
i think this is the most educational flower making video i have watched so far , beautifully done and very comforting way of teaching !
Martin ,Theresa for things this small you can buy a rotating clockwork egg timer, sit the object on top and film, I use them for Timelapse shots with a go pro
What a wonderful video! Thank you. You make the whole process appear soooo easy...and we all know it isn't. Beautiful. Wouldn't these little flowers make lovely birthday rememberences. Yes......
It would be good if you could explain what you're doing whilst making the bead.
That was sooooo cool! You make is look so easy. Why don't I believe it is as easy as that? Thank you for sharing!!
Do you only need propane for the Smith torch?
Hi , No you will need oxygen as well as the Smiths Little torch is a dual fuel torch ,propane and oxygen
I wish I could have seen this close up and what you made at the end
Enjoyed your video very much, Watched it twice & now it time to go to my torch.
Nice work. How to separate from the mamdrel? Is the gradual cool down enough?
nice one !
LOVED THIS MARTIN ,MUST HAVE A GO
Nice video. Do you batch anneal them after ?
Hi , Yes i do although you need to sit them on a layer of fibre blanket to avoid any sagging .
what do you mean in the kiln or before annealing them? @@Tuffnellglass
I love it when it’s possible to combine different hobbies! Lampwork and lace are both hobbies I’ve not done for ages and looking forward to getting back to them. I’d planned to just make little glass beads to add to my wooden bobbins, but maybe (eventually) I’ll be brave enough to try making glass bobbins too. Great video.
I’m confused. It looked like you heated the bead again to cut into it but didn’t burn off the luster
does that blowing technique work with boro, too?
What psi is the propane running on? I use a community studio and I was thinking of putting quick connects on the smith torch to hook into the bench propane (10psi)/oxy (30 psi) and wasn't sure if that would be a problem for the smith torch
That would be too high , ideally the psi on propane would be 1 -1 1/2 psi depending on the tip your using on the torch
Супер! Спасибо!
Beautiful!
Brilliant demo. Thanks so much!
Can you to put a splitter on the Oxygen the same way as the Propane or is a separate tank required?
yup, but be sure to use only oxygen compatible tubing and fittings. a spark arrestor/flashback isn't a bad idea either.
Great explanation, thank you! I want to get my hubby into this and this video makes it clear what is needed.
Do you have any videos of using a round bead roller, am having trouble using one without getting sharp hole openings.
Great video! Well done.👍👍👍
how did you do your oxygen set up?
It’s been run off a standard 5 litre oxy-con so with a UK oxygen nut and tail it bolts directly to the torch hose
Lovely designs and a nice end video of the finished beads. I think I can give them a go!! Thanks. xxB
I like the tutorial but would appreciate close ups of the beads midway and shots of them at the end so I can see the effects on each and together!! A newby so need more input!!!! Thanks. XB
